How the Identity of the Antichrist Will Be Revealed to the World (and It’s Not What You Think)

There is a lot of conversations happening around the world about the events that we see taking place on the world stage and it has many people wondering if the Antichrist is already here.

Many people think he will come out of the G7 or G10 nations.

I've seen countless names thrown around of potential Antichrist leaders from Obama all the way to Trump and everyone in between.

Many people also seem to have a preconceived idea about how they will know for sure when he has arrived on the world stage.

But what if it's not how you think it will play out? Read on and I will show you from the Bible as proof of how the Antichrist will be revealed to the world.

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

— 1 John 2:18

Description of the Antichrist According to the Bible

If you do a quick search in your Bible for the word "Antichrist" you will discover it only comes up four times according to the NKJV (New King James Version).

If he's such an important guy then why only four times? What gives?

"Antichrist" is just one of the many titles and descriptions of him in the Bible. There are many more and they are in both the new and old testament.

Here is a list of the other names and descriptions he goes by:

  1. the lawless one (man of lawlessness)
  2. the man of sin
  3. little horn
  4. the Assyrian
  5. the rod of My anger
  6. the prince who is to come
  7. son of perdition
  8. the beast

As the disciple John wrote, many antichrists have come already, but the antichrist that I will be referring to in this article is the one described in scripture as being the final world leader who opposes Jesus Christ and His followers at Jesus' return.

Where Does the Antichrist Come From?

His exact location is not given in scripture. For those of you who understand that he is referred to as the Assyrian, please know that "the Assyrian" is also used as a title or description in scripture. Just like Caesar is used as a title.

The origins of the antichrist are described for us in the book of Daniel 8:8-10:

Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven. And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them.

The four horns that came out of the large horn of the goat (Alexander the Great) were his successors Cassander, Ptolemy, Antigonus, and Seleucus as his kingdom was divided after his death.

From one of these four horns a "little horn" comes forth. The little horn is one of the descriptions of the Antichrist.

Historically speaking, this fits the description of Antiochus IV Epiphanes who was a Greek Hellenistic king who ruled the Seleucid Empire from 175 BC until his death in 164 BC.1

The last sentence of the verse however, clearly does not refer to Antiochus as this event has not yet taken place. Antiochus was a type of antichrist, and we know from the disciple John that many antichrists have come and gone. The last sentence describes what will take place during the reign of the final antichrist.

Will the last antichrist come from the same geographical area as Antiochus did?

It's entirely possible but I don't believe that will be the case. The reason I say this is because we are still living in the time of the remains of the third beast or third empire of King Nebuchadnezzar's dream.

Nebuchadnezzar's Dream

According to the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar that the prophet Daniel interpreted, there are four kingdoms before the return of Jesus Christ. They are as follows:

  1. The head of the statue made of solid gold. This was King Nebuchadnezzar himself (Daniel 2:38) and his kingdom (Babylon).
  2. The chest and arms of silver (verse 32). This represented the Persian empire and was considered inferior to the first kingdom.
  3. The belly and thighs of bronze (verse 32). This represented the Greek empire and was considered inferior to the previous two empires. Notice in verse 39 that this empire shall "rule over all the earth." Keep this in mind as I go forward.
  4. The legs of iron and its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. This kingdom is yet to come as it is described as the fourth and final kingdom that will have ten kings represented by the ten toes.

What About the Roman Empire?

The two legs of iron are often interpreted as representing the Roman empire because it was split in two with two main cities (Rome and Constantinople). However if you look at the statue this way you end up with five empires or kingdoms when it clearly states in the book of Daniel that there are only four. It also clearly says the legs of iron are part of the fourth and final beast.

If the two legs represent the division of the Roman Empire then using that same line of reasoning the third kingdom that was Greece should have been divided four ways but that's not how it's depicted in Nebuchadnezzar's dream.

The reality is that Rome was still a part of the Greek empire. All the culture and lore was Greek. Their mythology came from the Greeks. The Roman empire was simply an extension of the Greek empire.

I know many people out there are going to disagree with me on this point but I ask you to go back to the scriptures and read what it says.

If you jump ahead to Daniel 7:19 Daniel clearly says that this fourth and final beast "was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet..."

Let me ask you, was the Roman empire entirely different from the Greek empire? Did it devour, break and trample the other three kingdoms? The answer is no.

The Bottom Line

We are still living in the end of the third kingdom. Look around you if you don't believe me. Look at the architecture of buildings in the US and Canada for example, such as what you see in Washington D.C. Is it not Greco-Roman?

Trust the scriptures because that is where the truth is. Please do not be deceived. The third kingdom was to "rule over all the earth." That is where we are right now as far as the timeline according to King Nebuchadnezzar's dream.

Is the Antichrist Alive Right Now?

Has he been born and is alive at this very moment in time? I cannot answer that for certain nor can anyone else. If we are living in end times then yes, it would be reasonable to assume he is already here and in living at this point in time which is the year 2022.

Is the Antichrist Being Groomed to Take Over the World?

In other words, do evil people in positions of power already know who the Antichrist is and are preparing him to take over the world? No.

How do I know that? Simple. Because the Bible clearly explains how he will be revealed to the world.

If you don't know who the Antichrist is right now then neither does anyone else, including powerful world leaders.

2 Thessalonians 2:5-9 makes it clear that the lawless one, aka: the Antichrist, will be revealed when God decides it's time. Not when Klaus Schwab decides or anyone else. The apostle Paul wrote:

Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders...

Stop Believing the Lies

This is for everyone reading this article. If you are under the impression that global elites have some kind of secret insider knowledge (mystical crystal ball?) about world events to happen then you are believing their propaganda.

If you believe global elites have inside secret information because they communicate directly with demons then you are misled. I don't doubt they are capable of being in direct contact with demons just as any person can be, but how can demons be given privileged information about Biblical timelines from God when Jesus Himself does not know the day or the hour of His own return?

To whom does God reveal truth, or "inside information" to? Babes in Christ. That's who.

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes." (Luke 10:21)

If you believe they already know who the Antichrist is, then you are giving them more power then what they actually have.

Little Horn, Big Power

You would think that if the global leaders or the global elites knew who the Antichrist was they would make ready all kinds of resources to be deployed at the tips of his fingers. Makes sense doesn't it? After all, the fourth and final beast of Daniel's vision is one that encompasses the world. So, without wearing a tinfoil hat, it's essentially a one world government... for the most part.

And yet, that's not how this scene is going to unfold on the world stage.

Because even the most evil, corrupt political leader doesn't know who the Antichrist will be. That's right. They have no clue until it becomes obvious to everyone else as well.

The Ten Toes or Ten Horns

In King Nebuchadnezzar's dream the fourth kingdom had toes of clay mixed with iron. These ten toes also match up with the ten horns of the fourth beast of Daniel's own vision in Daniel chapter seven.

The ten horns and ten toes both represent the same thing: ten kings.

Only the Antichrist isn't one of them. What?

You'd think a powerful man such as the Antichrist would have been gladly crowned king wouldn't you? Maybe they think they crowned him, but he doesn't turn out to be one of them.

Remember what he's referred to as? Little horn.

Well little horn comes onto the scene after the ten kings have been chosen. And because he is the Antichrist he will be getting help from his father, Satan the devil which in turn will allow him to do things other kings won't be able to do.

The little horn will uproot three kings. Daniel 7:8 "I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words."

Followed by Daniel 7:24

"The ten horns are ten kings
Who shall arise from this kingdom.
And another shall rise after them;
He shall be different from the first ones,
And shall subdue three kings.

These scriptures should make it clear that the Antichrist is not one of the ten horns/toes and that he comes up after they have been chosen and uproots three of them.

Wielding Great Power

Daniel chapter 11 is the best clue as to how the Antichrist will be revealed on the world stage. By that I mean, how it will become obvious as time goes by who he really is.

Verse 21 is where it begins:

And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people.

So in other words what we're going to see is a little horn with big power. He's going to be able to do things other world leaders cannot possibly do because he will have power from Satan. Because he will be powered by Satan himself and Satan wants to be worshiped as a god.

Further proof of this (and most often quoted) is found in Revelation 13:3-4:

And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

Not only does he wield incredible power, but he's going to be mortally wounded (in one of his many battles with other kingdoms or countries) and that mortal wound will be healed. Is it any wonder the people of the world marvel after him and worship him as a god?

Death will not stop him.

The Antichrist Revealed to the Jews

The Antichrist will be revealed to the Jews in a way that will be slightly different than the rest of us unless we plan on living in Jerusalem at that time.

False Messiah

Going back to Daniel 11:21 we read that when he comes into the "glorious kingdom" which is where Jerusalem is geographically, he initially comes in peace. He's going to appear as a good guy and wind up seizing the kingdom by "intrigue."

Back in Daniel 9:27 we read that the Antichrist confirms a covenant with many for one week. The one week spoken of in this passage does not refer to a literal week but rather seven years, each day representing one year:

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.

This covenant agreement with the Jews in Jerusalem includes allowing them to worship and sacrifice at their temple. This will be the third and final temple built in Jerusalem before Christ returns.

Significance of the Temple

Thus the Antichrist brings in peace and stability to the area surrounding Jerusalem and because of this peace and stability brought about by his covenant with the people they are able to sacrifice at the temple.

There hasn't been a temple or sacrifice in Jerusalem for almost 2,000 years. The last temple being destroyed in 70 CE.2

The Jews living in Jerusalem have been desiring to once again be able to worship and sacrifice at a temple at the place where God commanded them to since it's destruction by the Romans.

The fact that this Antichrist comes in and makes this possible along with bringing in peace and stability in the region is very significant.

No More Mr. Nice Guy

At some point in the middle of the seven year covenant he has with the Jewish people he is going to have a change of heart and bring an end to the sacrificial offerings being made at the temple and commit the abomination of desolation by setting himself up in the place of God and require all to worship him as a god. Daniel 11:36-37:

Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all.

Why the change of heart?

I believe Revelation chapter 12 holds the key. In verse 12 we read,"Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

This is the point in which Satan is cast out of heaven and you can well imagine, he's angry!

Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child" (verse 13).

Satan, who has been giving his powers over to the Antichrist has been kicked out of heaven and as a result deliberately targets the Jews to take them out because he knows they are important to God.

A Remnant Will Remain

Not all the Jews are going to be deceived into believing that he is the Messiah they have been waiting for. As mentioned throughout the Bible, there will be a remnant and this remnant will be strong in the Lord and will not be deceived and make their stand against the Antichrist who is going to break his covenant with God's people.

Daniel 11:32 reveals this: "...but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits." The exploits are against the Antichrist and the beast.

As the apostle Paul writes in Romans 9:27-28:

Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
The remnant will be saved.
For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness,
Because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”

In Summary

How the Antichrist will first be revealed to the world will be as a man without a prestigious title and few resources at his disposal. Yet despite these handicaps he will will decimate his opponents (uprooting three horns) despite being just a little horn, and accomplishing things nobody else can do because he will receive his power from Satan himself.

He will first appear as a man bent on peace in the Middle East, a false Messiah to the Jews living in and around Jerusalem only to cut short his covenant with the Jewish people and turn on them and anyone else who dares to worship anyone but himself.

When he brings an end to the sacrifices at the three and a half year mark as described by the prophet Daniel, then Jacob's trouble will begin also referred to in the Bible as the Great Tribulation.

Thankfully, God is good and God will uphold his promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and a remnant will be saved.

May God have mercy on all of us who believe in the Lord Jesus who will be alive to see this terrible day.

The day the Antichrist is revealed to us is not a day to be celebrated. However, our comfort and assurance comes from the blessed hope that Jesus will be coming that much sooner!

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” (Luke 13:34-35)
