Balance Your Energy Levels With The Color Green

Audrey's passion for connecting with nature is magnified in her articles about mother earth."Going to nature is like going home."

Feel natures energy filling your body, mind and spirit.

Feel natures energy filling your body, mind and spirit.

Balance Our Energy

The color green can balance our energy. Green gives us the power needed to nurture ourselves. When you look at the color green, let it remind you to allow nature to do its work.

Let go, breathe in the rich emerald green hues, and you will feel nature's energy filling your body, mind, and spirit.

You and Green

What does the color green tell you about yourself?

  • You are benevolent and service-oriented if you wear green (any shade).
  • It is a symbol of peace and harmony.
  • You are sensitive and artistic.

While green may increase your energy, having too much hyper-like energy isn't healthy. After we experience this kind of energy and when we don't pace ourselves, we often "hit the wall" and end up completely exhausted.

Green Brings Uplifting, Positive Thoughts

When I see the color green I think of renewed life. I clear away old negative thinking and invite sweet, uplifting thoughts.

When I see the color green I think of renewed life. I clear away old negative thinking and invite sweet, uplifting thoughts.

Renew and Refresh

Green makes me think of life. I think of growth and how even during dry periods when the grass is dead and brown, with just a little rain and some sun, it is green once more.

As human beings, we all have our dry periods. There are times when we stagnate - when we need to feel renewed and refreshed. Sometimes, a good night's sleep or a change in routine is all we need.

However, studies have shown that specific colors bring energy to individuals.

Green symbolizes health, new beginnings, and wealth. Green is the easiest on the eyes and can be used to relax and create balance within. It also inspires possibility.

Natural Healers Should Have a Green Aura

When you are in the presence of a person with a green aura you will feel at peace and calm.

When you are in the presence of a person with a green aura you will feel at peace and calm.

What Is A Green Aura?

What exactly is an aura? The aura is the electromagnetic field that surrounds the human body (Human Energy Field-HEF) and every organism and object in the Universe.

Emerald Green relates to heart and lungs. It is a very comfortable, healthy color of nature. When seen in the aura this usually represents growth and balance, and most of all, something that leads to change. An emerald green aura indicates a love of people, animals, and nature.

All natural healers should have a green aura. And the stronger the color the better the healer. When you are in the presence of a person with a green aura, you will feel peace and calm. When you visualize, using the color green will bring you to a restful and healing state.

Those with a green aura, also have a green thumb and love to garden and grow plants.

Healing, Inner-Vision And Dreams

As a child, I would walk most anywhere just to behold the beautiful weeping willow tree. I found a sense of peace and healing within my soul. I experienced a deep connection with my creator. I could hear a voice whisper to me, "all is well", my child. My love-starved and empty well soon filled up with so much love I could barely contain it all.

The willow tree represents healing, inner-vision, and dreams. The leaves and bark were used in ancient times for aches and fever. Indians, as well, used the tree because it contains acid, acetylsalicylic (aspirin). It may have derived its name because it was used in the 19th century to commemorate the death of a loved one...and weeping.

So, you see, the color green is not reserved just for St. Patrick's Day, but for any time you want to renew and refresh your heart and soul.

Conclusion - Living a Well Balanced Life

Living a well-balanced life is essential for peace of mind. There are things we want to do and things we must do. The challenge is to make good choices between these two and this isn't always easy to do.

I'd like to share some tips that have helped me to live a more balanced and peaceful life:

  • The most important tip of all is to nurture and take care of yourself. This isn't a selfish thing to do. If you don't set aside time to take care of yourself you can't do your best for others.
  • Be prepared for the unexpected. Stuff happens when you least expect it. Avoid getting upset and stressed out. Being this way never solves the problem.
  • Lose that negative attitude. This only compounds the situation.
  • Laugh more. Keep your sense of humor going. If you don't have one - develop one. Studies indicate that laughter is one of the best things you can do for your health. It's a great stress-reliever.

Our energy is depleted when we worry and fret over everyday occurrences. I personally find that if I do some form of exercise when I'm worried I immediately feel a sense of relief. Walking is my choice for moving my body and getting my heart rate up.

Thank you for being here and I look forward to your comments.

Oregon is a beautiful state. I love the area where Oregon connects to California heading to the coast. It's beauty brings energy as well as a sense of peace. Thank you ~ Audrey

Dreamer at heart from Northern California on August 26, 2014:

I was so lucky to have grown up around this great green color which could be found in many outdoor settings. My favorite was an experience in one of Oregon's many river and waterfall areas. This truly brought me energy.

Nithya Venkat from Dubai on August 26, 2014:

Great hub about the color green, a great color that represents a lot of positive energy and positive growth. It definitely brings an aura of great peace.

Audrey Hunt (author) from Pahrump NV on August 07, 2012:

Mickey, you are a dear. I didn't know any of this. Like I said it's all so fascinating. You MUST do a hub on this. Thanks again :)

MickeySr from Hershey, Pa. on August 06, 2012:

Thanks, and, I don't know that much, I'm just too quick to share what I do know . . . like for instance . . .

I don't want to get too weird here for some, but; you know, nothing is really any color actually . . . I mean, grass only appears green to us because it's molecular structure is such that it absorbs certain spectrum waves of light and reflects others, when we look at grass we see green because we're seeing the green waves of the light spectrum, but the grass itself is not actually green, or any color at all (nor are apples actually red, etc). That's why dogs. birds, and even color blind humans see things as different colored than the rest of us. Nothing is really any color at all - we just see the light affected by the molecular structure of things.

Ok, I'm done now, I'll leave you all alone . . . for a while.

Audrey Hunt (author) from Pahrump NV on August 06, 2012:

Cyndi10 - There are so many lovely shades of green. My favorite is emerald. Lately I have noticed several homes with walls of a lighter shade of green and it is so nice. Glad that you liked this and that you are more open to "gazing green." You are kind to find my hub interesting and well written. Thankyou!

MickeySr. - Wow - You know so much about the effects of color. It is all so interesting to me. How wonderful of you to share your knowledge with us. A great big thanks to you Mickey!

MickeySr from Hershey, Pa. on August 05, 2012:

Audrey ~ People think that the sense of calm and rest you feel in the woods is just from the quite and naturalness of the experience - but in fact, all colors vibrate the optic nerve (reds & yellows more so than blues and purples, etc), all colors except brown and green . . . brown is neutral and (as I said) green is the only color that actually soothes the optic nerve, so, this has a significant effect on us when we visit the woods.

Audrey Hunt (author) from Pahrump NV on August 05, 2012:

Fennelseed, my dear friend - How are you doing these days. I'm thinking that you're mostly doing well from the magnificent hubs you've been writing. I'm thrilled to find that you enjoyed this hub. And I agree that your aura is definitely green. I like to collect polished gemstones too and you're most like not too surprised to hear that most of mine are green. Thank you Annie and stay sweet:)

Audrey Hunt (author) from Pahrump NV on August 03, 2012:

Victoria Lynn - Thank you for all the votes and for appreciating the color green. If it were possible, weeping willows would be found in both my back and front yard. These trees are beautiful...peaceful. I'd love to sit and gaze at the flowing brances with you.

Dear MickeySr. - What a rascal you were, turning yourlittle self green. I couldn't help but laugh with that image in my mind. Thank you for sharing that the color green soothes the optic nerve. That would explain why I feel a calmness each time I gaze at the lovely weeping willow tree. I love walking in my area because of all the different species of trees. Thanks "Mr. Green." :)

Cynthia B Turner from Georgia on August 03, 2012:

This was a very enjoyable hub. I also took a look at the link you included about auras, something I'm interested in, but have never really followed up on it. It's only recently that I have begun to like the color green anywhere except in nature. I would never think of painting my walls green or buying furniture in green. I love it in nature and now I find that I like it in other ways as well. Thanks for giving us such an interesting and well written article.

Annie Fenn from Australia on August 03, 2012:

Green in all its beautiful shades and variations has always been my most favourite colour. I love to collect polished gemstones and the majority of my collection is green because I just can't resist them.

I love your hub and I now suspect that I may just have a green aura and that is just awesome!!! Thank you for all this green information and inspiration. My votes and best wishes to you Audrey and sharing.

MickeySr from Hershey, Pa. on August 01, 2012:

Audrey ~ when I was young, green was more than a color to me – it seemed to me far prettier to look at than any other color, I learned that it’s the only color that actually soothes the optic nerve, and it seemed much of the planet was green . . . so when I was about 14 I filled the bathtub with green food coloring, stuck a straw in my mouth, and submerged long enough to be green for a few days.

Victoria Lynn from Arkansas, USA on July 31, 2012:

Great hub! I love being green like Kermit. Wish I had a weeping willow, though! Love that tree. Your photos are beautiful. Green is a very refreshing color for sure. Nice, peaceful hub. Gave you all the votes!

Whoops sorry vocal coach. In my last post, I was referencing my hub "Playing House with Intestinal Grievances" not "Parocial Reinforcement." I envisioned my self portrait as a mesh of electric green fibers...

Lisa Mae DeMasi on June 22, 2011:

It is so ironic that I came across your hub tonight. I added a graphic to one of my hubs today (entitled "Parochial Reinforcement"). I was referred Stephen King's Tommyknockers and I actually depicted a graphic that was electric green in reference to how I was feeling during a certain illness. Amazing!

Audrey Hunt (author) from Pahrump NV on June 22, 2011:

chatkath - Please forgive the long delay in replying to your very welcomed comments. I've had a few things going on and need my "green" - and as for your aura - it is beautiful at any color!

Thank you, dear one.

Fantastic write to to bottom, I cold only think of the song Jean and the word green is in it once, but it hit me long before the "add"

What a beautiful hub about the color green.. it's interesting about the "green room" for TV guests and I share your love for the weeping willow... such a beautiful tree.. When I think about green, what comes to mind is the grass, bushes and trees in the spring after a rain shower.. I love the way that feels and everything is so bright and green after wards. I don't know why it all seems so much more noticeable then. Anyway, great hub.. voted up and beautiful :0)

A beautiful written hub and you are so right.

Skellie from Adelaide on April 10, 2011:

That was an awesome hub! As soon as I saw the green picture in your hub, I clicked in. I use to have a green duffle coat, that went down to my ankles. At the age of 12 and for the next few years, it was my favourite item of clothing. I wore this coat everywhere. My family did not like this coat at all. Asking why I would want to wear, a horrible green coat. I could never explain why, I just loved it - now I know why! Thankyou

Two years later, my mum threw it away while I was at school. I don't think I ever got over it. :)

Awesome and up

Cheers Skellie
