In my life like many others, I have experienced allot of agony. The trauma of losing someone you love is immense. They say it takes 5 years to "recover" from losing a spouse to death, 8 years to "recover" from a divorce and 18 years to "recover" from the loss of a child. Losses have been a common item in my life. Parents, beloved grandparents who raised me, my best friend and my spouse of many years.
After all of this trauma, I was hit once again another devastating blow - my two companion animals who gave me unconditional love, joy and happiness. My two furry best friends were given back to God in February. The day I remember well and I also remember God's presense cried out in agony once again. Nothing was left - no family, and now my beautiful animals who were my constant companion.
Rainbow A midst the Clouds
Josh Groban - Somewhere Over the Rainbow with Barbra Streisand
God, like all loving fathers was with me. On that cold day in the midwest, in February when the sky is normally icy blue or chilly white, God gave to me a comfort. A beautiful rainbow. An absolute miracle on a very, very tragic day in my life.
God in his loving kindness knew I need him that day. And on that horrible morning in chilly February, he answered as only God can answer with his magnificance and all of his glory with a beautiful rainbow to remind me that my best furry friend where traveling to his house, his home and someday we would be reunited.
The tears and sorrow still flow. The 18 years for children - does it hold true for animals too? Never blessed with children, these two gorgeous blond golden retrievers are perhaps the closest thing I will ever have to children. Will it take 18 years?
God's love and mercy is with me. In sadness, I wish my two best furry friends were still my constant companions.
God's love is always with me - was that the life lesson I was meant to learn?
I no longer yearn for animals. I will always yearn for those two special friends who spent decades with me through the best and worst moments of my life including the death of my husband.
My only solace now is my God, my loving God who gave me a visual present of a beautiful rainbow that cold February morning long ago.
God is always with me. His joy fills my life.
Blessings to you and your family.
When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, “Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you, and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark; it is for every beast of the earth. I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: ...
When I Look At The Rainbow

when I look at the Rainbow you have placed in sky so
blue, it reminds me that all your promises are true
Your Rainbow reminds me that those who believe on you
are few, yet you have called us your little Ewe
Lord when I look at the Rainbow I see it's hue, it reminds
me that your love for us true
Your Rainbow in sky so blue, reminds me to keep praying
Lord when I look at the Rainbow it reminds me of your
promise to all of your creatures some of whom are of
Your Rainbow and it's many colors reminds me that it
represents some whom are called colored
Lord when I look at your Rainbow and see how it's colors
are bright, it reminds me to do what is right
Your Rainbow I have never seen at night, this reminds me
to stay in the light
Lord when I look at your Rainbow it reminds me of your grief
because of our unbelief
Your Rainbow have no pot of gold, but your wonderful story
of love it has told
Lord when I Look at your Rainbow it reminds that you
promised to never again destroy the World with a flood

Poem Rainbow Bridge - Heaven - Poem for Loss of Pet
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
"There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... "
Genesis 9 Rainbow
We cannot create a rainbow in the same manner as God can, but we can connect to God daily. The rainbow reminds of God's greatness and we can find God through a daily devotional. Speak to God today and every day and feel God's love for you and your family. Look for the rainbow in your life and God will be there for you. He may permit pain but he will never permit pain beyond your ability to handle the pain. Take control today and devote some time each day to your relationship with God.
