Rosualdo is just an ordinary person with an extraordinary God, who wants to spread God’s words and love through writing articles and poems.

Addiction is considered a serious sickness. It brings troubles to any person, family, relationship, and society. It controls and enslaved the mind and heart of its victims. It chained and ruled millions of lives around the world. The lordship of addiction is hard to overthrow because of its gripping power dominating the soul of man. Addiction is a cruel and wise predator attacking and leaving its prey in a desperate and helpless condition. Curing addiction is a serious war to win and overcome because of the venomous and disastrous effects in the lives of its prey.

A Sick And Sin Addicted World

Addiction invades everywhere killing lives, destroying homes, and leaving this vulnerable world in chaos and a hopeless condition. How many lives were lost from smoking, alcoholism, drug addiction, and terrorism? How many people suffered starvation from greed and corruption? How many homes have been broken from lust and immorality? How many nations wage wars because of pride and arrogance?

Crimes, death, hunger, pain, sensuality, and destruction rises because the world is sick and addicted to sin. Addiction to sin makes the world sick and hopeless. Sin brings not just sickness or illness but death (Romans 6:23), physically, spiritually, and eternally. Many people armed themselves with human wisdom and knowledge to combat this problem but ended up in defeat. The virus of addiction spread rapidly not just from place to place but from generation to generation. Is there hope for the cure?

The Cure Of Sin Addiction

Satan's Purpose

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I come that they may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10 NIV)

The devil's purpose was to steal whatever things God provided to anyone. He wants to take away the peace, joy, hope, and man’s desire to worship God. He wants to destroy man's relationship with God. He wants to kill man’s life physically, spiritually, and eternally (Revelation 20:14). Satan wants the world to die through the sickness and death brought by the addiction of man to sin. The ultimate weapon of Satan is the alluring essence and pleasures of sin to hinder God’s plan and purpose to mankind. He controls the world by bringing sin addiction to every man. He is the great propagator of sin because sin originates from him (1 John 3:8). He wants to demolish and overthrow God's intention in man’s life. He uses every method to enslave and imprison man to sin addiction. Sickness, death, and destruction is the major plan of Satan and his demons.

God's Purpose

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I come that they may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10 NIV)

Satan succeeded in alienating mankind to God (Romans 3:23). He achieved his plan in stealing and killing man’s relationship with God through sin. Satan spread the infection of sin to mankind through the chain of sin addiction. He makes the world sick and miserable and brought death and destruction to the world. But God’s love and grace provide healing and life and reconnect the broken fellowship between God and man. God sent Jesus to save, cure, and give mankind eternal life (John 3:16). Jesus counteracts the steal, kill, and destroy works of Satan by providing life to the fullness. He came to destroy the devil’s work (1 John 3:8). God’s plan and purpose in giving his Son is reconstruction to defeat Satan’s destruction scheme. God reconstructs the destruction made by Satan through the redeeming works of Jesus Christ on the cross. He gives man freedom from sin addiction and death and reconnects mankind to him by making man slave to righteousness (Romans 6:18).

Jesus Is The Cure Or The Medicine For The Healing Of The Sin Addicted World

But he was pierced for our transgressions,

he was crushed for our iniquities;

the punishment that brought us peace was on him,

and by his wounds, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5 NIV)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23 NIV)

Sin addiction is hard to treat because of its venom. But God provides treatment to bring the solution to it. Jesus is the only medicine or the cure for the healing of the world's illness. He is the most powerful antibiotic designed to kill all the bacteria of sin addiction and death. Jesus is the only antidote against the deadly and destructive virus of sin addiction. He is the only treatment and solution of sin addiction. He can bring a lifeless world back to life. His death on the cross paid the sin’s penalty and set mankind free from the slavery of sin addiction and brings the cure to any sin addict. Through his wounds, all the sick and addicted to sin addiction are healed. Jesus brought the gift of eternal life and the cure to any soul addicted to sin. Whoever has the Son has life and healing (1 John 5:12).

How Can A Sinner Or A Sin Addict Have The Cure?

If we are sick we go to a drug store to buy medicine and take it to get well. Intake of the right medicine plays a vital role in healing and recovery. If a man wants to be saved, cured, or healed from the disastrous effects of sin addiction, he must take Jesus, the cure in his life. Healing will only be available if the cure is be taken or applied. Healing can be found only on the Healer.

How Can A Sinner Or A Sin Addict Take Or Have Jesus In His Life

Jesus must be installed in the life of a sin addict to have the cure, freedom, and life (1 John 5:12). He must accept Jesus as Savior and Lord of his life to have the indwelling presence of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9). Those who have the Spirit of Christ belong to Christ and are saved and cured of sin addiction. A sinner or a sin addict can have Jesus through genuine faith and repentance (Acts 20:21).

The Importance Of Faith In Receiving Jesus

A sinner or a sin addict should believe that Jesus died for his sins and set him free from the power of sin addiction and death (John 3:16) (Ephesians 2:8). Faith achieved Christ's righteousness the basis for God to justify, cure, and set free any sinner or soul addicted to sin when he believes in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22) (Acts 13:39). Faith is essential in receiving Jesus, the cure. By receiving and believing Jesus, we gained the right to become children of God (John 1:12). Faith not just sets free but transports a sin addict from the realm of sin to the household and cured people of God.

The Importance Of Repentance In Receiving Jesus

Jesus did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance (Luke 5:2). He did not want anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Repentance involves a change of mind and heart towards sin that leads to a change of action. It simply means turning around from sin to God. Repentance is essential in receiving Jesus, the cure. No one can have the cure if he is still facing and enjoying sin. He must face God and turn his back from sin addiction that he may be able to receive Jesus and be healed. Repentance will gain forgiveness from God (1John 1:8). Genuine repentance will lead to life and freedom from slavery of sin addiction and (Acts 11:18). If we will not repent we will all perish (Luke 13:3). Repentance will transport a sinner back to God’s presence through reconciliation made possible through Christ's redeeming work on the cross. It will transfer a sinner from the realm of sin addiction to the realm of God’s addiction.

A Sin Addict Who Found And Take The Cure

One of the criminals on the cross during the crucifixion of Jesus exhibits genuine faith and repentance that enables him to be healed or be saved from sin addiction. Jesus gives him the strongest assurance, I tell you the truth today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:43). Can we imagine how that criminal, a sin addict escape from the eternal death penalty? It is because he takes Jesus, the cure. A guilty sinner becomes a saint and is transported from death to life, and from the presence of sin to the presence of God.

Spreading The Cure

Go into the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. (Mark16:15-16 NIV)

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I commanded you and surely I am with you always, to the very end the age. (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV)

Christians Are The Carriers Of The Cure For The Healing Of The World

Anyone who receives healing and salvation, anyone who became a child of God will also share the cure with any person. The Great Commission reminds us that we are authorized to inject the antidote of God's words and God's love to all creations to bring healing, reconciliation, and freedom from sin addiction. We must tell the world about Jesus, we must proclaim the Gospel and teach anyone to obey the will of God. We must have compassion for the lost souls and bring them back to the presence of God. We are the salt and light of the world (Matthew 5:13-14), so we must season and enlighten the world.

Why we are ashamed or afraid if we play a vital role in curing or healing the world? We are possessing or holding the cure. One of the most famous sin addicts that became a God addict who made a great contribution to the world's healing was Paul. In his letter to the Romans, he said, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes”(Romans 1:16).

The Task Of A God Addict

The task of a God addict or a disciple of God is to create another God addict or disciple. Spread the cure now and let God be glorified. Are you sicked or already healed? Do you want the cure? Are you spreading the cure? May these questions ignite our heart and may this message leads to the spread of the cure.

Sin addiction is destructive, deadly, and hard to treat. It causes too much trouble and pain to the world. But the only solution is available to bring the remedy and end the misery. Jesus Christ is the only cure and needs to be taken to solve the problem. The cure will only be achieved if there is genuine faith and repentance in the life of anyone addicted to sin. And the cure must be spread to those who are still in the captivity of sin addiction for their deliverance and freedom by those who are healed or the ones who receive the cure.
