Delay or Denial of Marriage

Shaloo Walia is an astrologer and tarot reader. She is an Art of Living teacher and also an ardent Krishna devotee and a follower of ISKCON.

It is said that marriages are made in heaven. This simply means that marriages are pre-destined or happen according to the divine will. The institution of marriage holds a sacred and auspicious place in India. The parents start looking for a suitable partner for their children as soon as they reach marriageable age. But the influence of Western culture and materialism has brought about a change in youth who have become more career-oriented and thus delaying marriage until they are well-settled. Sometimes search for a perfect partner also is a reason for delay of marriage. Some individuals have delay of marriage in their horoscope while some have outright denial of marriage.

Various astrological factors influencing marriage

Ascendant or Lagna: represents personality of the native.

Houses/lords: 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th houses/lords are responsible for married life.

Saturn: gives delays and obstacles in life.

Venus: is the significator of marriage for males.

Jupiter: is the significator of marriage for females.

Moon: represents mental state, emotions and inclination of the native.

Marriage has become an old concept. Those who marry in this modern day do so to take responsibility if needed as to unexpected pregnancies and depending on cultures. Thank you for an interesting insight to arranged marriages.

Thank you Donna. The concept of arranged marriage is quite common in India and it may sound strange but such arranged marriages are fairly successful.

Shaloo, a very good article and very interesting seeing the other cultures of the world about marriage and what one must have to go through and I would find it hard to have a family member pick out my spouse, that would make me nervous.

Anyhow, great article!
