Whole Grains: Brown Rice, Oats, Barley
Nuts, Seeds, Sprouts
Fruits: apples, apricots, bananas, blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, cantelope, cherries, cranberries, oats, figs, grapefruit, grapes, guava, honeydew, kiwi, lemons, lime, mangoes, nectarines, papayas, peaches, pears, pineapples, plums, prunes, raisins, raspberries, strawberries, tangelos, tangerines, watermelon
Vegetables: artichokes, asparagus, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chili peppers, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, gingerroot, kale, leeks, lettuce, mushrooms, mustard greens, okra, onions, parsley, potatoes, radishes, rutabagas, scallions, spinach, sprouts, squashes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, turnips, watercress, yams, zucchini.
Liquids: spring water, distilled water, 100% all natural fruit and vegetable juices.
Foods containing preservatives or additives
White flour and all products using it
Shortening, high fat products
What is the Daniel Fast? Is it for me?
This concept of fasting comes from the book of Daniel 1:8-14, "But Daniel resolved not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief official for permission to eat other things instead. Now God had given the chief official great respect for Daniel. But he was alarmed by Daniels request. 'My lord the king has ordered that you eat this food and wine,' he said. "If you become pale and thin compared to the other youths your age. I am afraid the king will have me beheaded for neglecting my duties.' Daniel talked it over with the attendant who had been appointed by the chief to look after Daniel and his colleagues. He said, 'Test us for 10 days on a diet of vegetables and water and at the end of 10 days see how we look compared to the other young men eating the kings rich food. Then you can decide whether or not we can continue eating our diet. He agreed and tested them for 10 days."
If you are obedient to this fast, you will abstain from white sugar, white flour, caffeine & alcohol. Prepare yourself to make these changes by looking into various menus and buy the foods needed in advance. Pray about it. Be ready to change the way you eat for 10 days and if you are feeling good...keep it up for three weeks. A B12 supplement is suggested since you will not be eating any meat. Of course, you should check with your doctor before changing your diet to be sure fasting is in your best interests. This diet is not meant for you to lose weight, you should eat like you normally do only eat those foods outlined below. You will likely loose weight because of the cleansing of toxins anyway. When I did this fast, the first few days were hard since I love coffee and I was becoming decaffeinated, but I was determined for breakthrough. I was glad I did.

Thank you eventsyoudesign. I find it a better fast if I am very prepared with the food I need and have it scheduled for a period of time to mentally prepare as well. If this is the first time try doing it for three days from like Thr midnight until Sunday dinner. If that works well for you...go longer next time around. The mental discipline of a period of fasting is the best part. Best Wishes. Let me know how it goes for you.
