Live With A Grateful Heart, Always Be Thankful.

”Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.”

Psalm 107:15 (NIV)

A beautiful woman in God’s eyes has a thankful heart. She is always grateful to God for His love and faithfulness to her. She will always choose to live in gratitude rather than to live in grumbling. She always finds reasons to be thankful, amidst life’s intense difficulties. This kind of woman has a beautiful perspective on life. She looks at the brighter side of life. She always cultivates a joyful spirit in times of crisis. This woman indeed experienced the blessed newness of being a true disciple of Christ. She is indeed a beautiful channel of God’s love and mercy.

Paul also urges Christians in Philippi to pray “with thanksgiving” in their hearts. As true believers in Christ, we must learn to live with gratitude and contentment. If you are a grateful person, you will always be joyful and you will understand that life is a gift from God. Gratitude recognizes that you are dependent upon God as it is written in 1 Timothy 6:8 NIV;

&Godliness with contentment is a great gain.&

Miriam’s grateful heart makes her a remarkable woman. When the Israelites triumphantly crossed the Red Sea and the Egyptians were swallowed by the waters, Miriam picked up her tambourine and led the women in giving praises to the Lord. They rejoiced with singing and dancing, praising God for the great deliverance and victory, the Lord had given to the Jews. Miriam believed that the deliverance was the work of God’s power and tried her best to give all the praises due to Him. This one act of Miriam truly made her commendable. This is a great reminder that God deserves all the glory and praises for all the victories He gave to His people. (Bible Text: Exodus 15:20,21)

Because of her perfectionist’s tendency, Maria struggles with her relationship with people. Often, she tends to see their negative behavior. To overcome this struggle, Maria resolved in her heart to focus on the things that she will be thankful for those people she struggles to like. She chose to be grateful to these people instead of entertaining unpleasant thoughts against these people. This resolves her conflict with them. And this action gave her a more favorable behavior and improves her relationship with people, and truly beautifies her character.

At times of our loneliness, it is best to reflect on God’s goodness in the past. We have to throw away all negative thoughts and bring into our mind the many blessings we enjoy from God. Cultivating gratitude in our hearts will help us overcome depression.

Overcome negative emotions, cultivate a grateful heart.

Thanks manatita for visiting this hub. Your comment is greatly appreciated. Being grateful contributes much to our mental health. Becoming bitter contributes to depression.

Thanks Peggy for taking time to view this hub. I believe to overcome negative emotions we should dwell on those things we should be thankful for rather than those things we should be bitter about. Your visit and comment is much appreciatedl

Thanks James Moore for appreciating this hub. Your comment is a great encouragement. I believe, one of the ways to combat depression is to cultivate this grateful attitude in us. If we will count our blessings each day, we will not be overwhelmed by these negative circumstances we encounter daily.
