You Know It's The Truth!
It is amazing to me that the principles, doctrines, and beliefs of almost every religion can be spouted without much controversy or concern but, when one comes with the message of Christianity suddenly there is a problem. Sharing the gospel message of Gods love expressed through the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the redemption of mankind secured through His shed blood will get you one in a deep mess.
Suddenly, all Christians are labeled as insensitive, homophobic and anti-everything. Words like "intolerant", "narrow-minded", "archaic" and "unloving" fly through the air. Picket signs appear out of no-where, and misinterpreted quotations from the United States Constitution find their way into everyone's earshot.
Visions and videos of the Inquisition and the deeds of some "messed-up" Christian organizations and their leaders are recounted as if they speak for the entirety of the Christian faith.
I find that it is even more interesting as it occurs in nations which were once the most staunch proponents for the advancement of Christianity and most diligent in the world-wide spreading of Christianity.
Freedom of Speech...You Can Say It, but I Can't... Really?
Christianity and its tenants should have just as much freedom to be spoken of, displayed and openly preached as any other religion. But, that is not the case. From the reading circle in the elementary school classroom up to and through the college lecture hall, Christianity is regarded as hostile and dangerous. Consequently, anyone who espouses Christian beliefs is accused of being in violation of others rights.
I think we have gone crazy!
We remove prayer from school, but we introduce new age, mystic arts and Buddist meditation practices into the school. We honor the students use of references in their essays, but discount references by Christian religious authors as invalid. We suggest to college applicants that they not mention that they have any affiliation to the Christian faith, but we offer discounts and provide special consideration to students who are 'wear' their religion openly.
What do you think?
Make it Make Sense, Please
If Christianity is so powerless and archaic, they why do people fight so hard against every aspect of it? Generally, people only fight against those things that are threatening to them. What valid threat does Christianity hold?
Better off Because if It
Our infrastructures, governments, etc., function successfully because our citizens believe in "doing the right thing." We are nations steeped in integrity which is practiced by the majority of individuals. This integrity is based on the principles of the Christian faith.
So, if as some say, Christianity is fruitless and based in fantasy, a form of mental illness and harmful, rooted in fear and ignorance, and that our God is a figment of our imagination please tell me why go to such great lengths to remove every semblance of it from our nation? The logic is inconsistent.
Perhaps the power in the blood of Christ is what it says it is and it can really do what it says it can do. Perhaps the claims of Christ are true and these are the "threats" that keep persecution alive.
Truth Cannot Be Killed
Truth, crushed to earth, shall rise again; The eternal years of God are hers;
But Error, wounded, writhes with pain, And dies among his worshippers.
William Cullen Bryant
Many have tried to kill the gospel message, to downplay the Word of God. Many others have perverted the Word and the message. Still, others modified the sayings of the Word of God to suit their own interest to the chagrin of the entire world.
Stamped into the ground from every angle conceivable, mocked at and misunderstood. Yet, the harder the Word of God and the message of His love for mankind is fought against, the faster the message spreads and the more converts are made.
The tenacity and the truths of the Word of God and the message of Jesus Christ cannot be killed. The fact that it is so viciously fought against certainly gives more credence to the consideration that it is "more truth than fiction".
"Jesus words at John 15:18,19 says: "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you."

Thanks Elayne for your comments...even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!

So true! I saw it in Egypt when I visited there as well as at home in Utah where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is prevalent. It shall be that way until Christ comes again and reigns over the earth. I have been reading Matthew 22 - 28 this week to remember the first Easter. Christ was sought after and killed for his parables that taught the truths only those with ears to hear could understand. Thanks for sharing!
