An Introduction to the Body of Christ.

I have been a student of the Bible for over 50 years. During those 50+ years, I also believe there are Angels among us.

Who did Christ Die for?

Christ died on the Cross with the sins of the world nailed there with Him.

Romans 3:22-23 (NIV)

  • 22. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

That's what I like about the Bible, it tells it like it is. We are all sinners in need of a Savior. A deep study of God's law reveals this. Throughout the 'Old Testament' we are reminded that there are none righteous, no not one. No man throughout history has honored every aspect of God's Law except for Jesus. He was without sin, but became sin, so that thru Him the World might be Saved. The 'Old Testament' or (Old Covenant) is based on a strict Obedience of the Law.

Moses, the man who gave God's Law to the Israelites in the Wilderness was not allowed to enter the 'Promised Land' because he failed to trust God's provision. God told Moses to speak to the Rock that followed them thru the wilderness, Moses struck it with his staff instead. His sin was not striking the rock, it was putting his knowledge above God's Word.

And there is King David, declared by God, to be a man seeking after the Heart of God. Do a deep dive into his life and sins; adultery, and then murder to cover it up, for starters. Solomon, who prayed for Wisdom, instead of wealth and fame, ended up with all three. Towards to the end of his life, he allowed alters to the many god's of this world to be set up in Jerusalem. And there are many other examples throughout the Old Testament showing how there are none righteous, no not one.

Why are Nondenominational Churches growing so fast?

These Nondenominational Churches are growing because they are filled with people who are part of the 'Body of Christ'. These are People who understand that they are 'sinners saved by Grace'. Their Leaders teach the Bible, the whole Bible, and nothing but the Bible. They use Scripture to interpret Scripture. They do not teach some Religious Doctrine based on their Personal World view, with a few Scriptures that support that view.

They are also fulfilling Jesus's 'Great Commission', to go into all the World and Proclaim the Gospel (the Truth) of Jesus.

They also teach that True Christianity is about or ability to have a personal Relationship with God, through His Son, Jesus, and that that is only possible because of his death, Burial and Resurrection.

A Division in the Church

Denominations have been a problem for the Church since the 1st Century, A. D. So much so that the Apostle Paul had to address in his first letter to the Church at Corinth.

He starts his letter with a greeting of Love, passing along Grace and Peace from God the Father and His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus. 1 Corinthians: 1-3. (paraphrased)

Versus 4-9 Tells of his Thankfulness to God for the Church at Corinth.

Starting with verse 10 he addresses one of the reasons he is writing the letter.

(see Callouts above)

This is a denominational rift recorded in the New Test. Paul reminds them, (and us) that we are called to proclaim, with one unified voice, the Gospel of Christ. That such division is harmful to the Body of Christ. I do not know how many times I have had non-believers tell me, 'If there is only one Jesus, why are there so many Denominations.

New Pharisees

Those who have spent most of their lives in Church risk becoming judgmental hypocrites, (or as Charlie Daniels calls them New Pharisees.

Leave it to a song to say better than I ever could.

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

I try to live my Life accordingly, but it is hard. Every time I listen to the news, I have to remind myself, God is Judge, not me. Thank You, LORD.

The End Times

I believe we are fast approaching, if not already living in, the End Times. It does not take much study of the Bible and reading about current events to come to that same conclusion. We have wars, and rumors of war, all over the news. A globe engulfed by famine and pestilence. When you study the parts about fire raining down from Heaven, it can be interpreted one of two ways, A meteor shower, with meteors that are to large to burn up when entering the Earths atmosphere, there have been a lot of Sci-fi movies dedicated to this theory. Or a large scale Nuclear War. Given that after the Flood, God placed the Rainbow in the sky as a promise to Noah, that He would never again destroy the Earth with water. I believe either is a possibility.

The great Commission

The members of these Non-Denominational Churches take this Mission very seriously, they go into their neighborhoods, and talk to the people, telling those who will listen about Jesus, and the relief he can give, if only they will accept his offer. This is the reason these Churches are growing so fast, people are hungering for something this world cannot provide. A Peace that can only be found in Jesus.
