Meditation is a discipline where an individual sits quietly and focuses on one specific thing. It can be a scripture, song, or prayer. The idea is to train the mind to be silent so the body can be centered. Meditation is a practice that takes patience. However, the benefits are worth it.
Effects of Meditating Last All Day Long
When most people wake up in the morning, they rush to have that first cup of coffee for the day. Then they rush to get ready for work and get the kids out the door for school. So far, their day has been filled with nonstop rushing. When they get to work, they are already drained. Therefore, their day is not as productive as it could be if they had started it off with meditation.
If your morning is like the one just described, then it is time to change your morning routine. It is easy to have a less chaotic morning and a more productive day if you take just ten minutes to do one thing before rushing out the door. So, what is that one thing?
Stop Rushing and Meditate
You can stop rushing every morning by taking just ten minutes to meditate. Meditation is an effective way to relax, get centered, and achieve a calm and peaceful existence.
There are many ways to meditate and you can do it for longer periods of time, but it is better to start off with the simplest way and for the shortest duration. After you get used to doing it, feel free to meditate longer in more elaborate ways.
To begin the discipline of meditation, sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and meditate on a scripture, spiritual song, or a positive situation. If your mind wanders, bring it back to what you were focusing on. Do this for ten minutes each morning until you get the hang of it. Then you will be able to increase your time.
In just a few mornings, you will notice the benefits of meditation.
1. Sets the Tone for the Entire Day
Meditating for just ten minutes in the mornings can give you an entire day of peace, calmness, and productivity. That's because what you do in the morning will set the tone for the entire day. If it is rushing, you will rush all day. However, if you start your day meditating, the effects will last all day long.
2. Better Than Stimulants
Meditation is unlike coffee. It does not lose its effectiveness after a few hours. The meditation you do in the morning will keep you relaxed all day long. You don't have to give up drinking coffee in the mornings, but you won't feel like your life depends on it. The surprising effect of meditation is that you will require fewer cups of coffee.
Meditation will keep you relaxed and more alert. You will experience no jitters that can come when you consume too much caffeine and other chemical stimulants.
3. Provides Comfort and Confidence
If you practice meditating every morning for at least a week, you will see amazing results that will encourage you to continue. You will be more comfortable, calmer, and confident as you go about your day.
4. Results in More Productivity
If you think you won't have ten minutes to meditate in the mornings, consider getting out of bed earlier. You will discover that meditating in the morning will give you additional time during the day without rushing around like a chicken with its head cut off. You will be able to focus on your work and be more productive.
When you meditate in the morning, your mind will be quiet for the rest of the day. You will not allow distractions to affect you because your mind is being trained to filter out distractions and stay focused on the task at hand.
An extra bonus of meditation is that you are not bothered by the things you cannot control, and you are able to control more things that would normally cause your day to be ruined.
5. Leds to Better Relationships
Meditation helps you to have better relationships with family members, friends, and co-workers. It will help you see the best in people, and it will keep you from complaining about things that used to tick you off. People will wonder why you no longer snap at them as you have done in the past.
When you begin your day with meditation, people will notice that you are positive in your words and actions. Begin your day with meditation and people will enjoy being around you.
6. Improves Your Health
It is healthy to meditate. If you are stressed, you might reach for unhealthy foods to comfort you. Since meditation keeps you from being stressed, you are less likely to eat junk food.
Develop the habit of meditating in the morning and enjoy the benefits of better health.
7. Ability to Think Clearly
You will be amazed to see how just a ten-minute routine in the morning will help you stay focused and think clearly all day long. You will think so clearly and stay so focused that you will wonder why you never started meditating long ago.
- Every Christian Should Meditate
Every Christian should meditate because God commanded it, and Jesus did it as an example. It is a form of prayer that should be part of every Christian's life.
