Aries, The Ram and Lovely Libra - Justice

Getting Along

The Balances and The Ram -

This series on Astro Compatibility will cover all of the potential matchups in the Zodiac. We will continue this series thinking about and commenting on Aries and Libra.

Libra - Aries -

Libra is an Air Sign. Aries is a Fire Sign. Libra is Cardinal and Aries is Cardinal. This makes these signs with an action oriented style. It could be a good match, if love factors are there. Libra's airiness could be fired up by Aries. To make up for Aries dynamism, Libra could add tolerance and patience, but still relate to the forward movement of Aries. Aries's fiery nature and action-oriented style could bring appealing spark. If Libra is seeking more excitement this could be great. If Aries was seeking calmness and outer sense of balance, it could also be positive as a match. The Aries, either gender, would have to value and seek out the Libra soundness and not be off put by what might be perceived as a little predictable and boring. The cardinality of both signs is both a caution and a sign post. Sometimes all action can stumble all over itself. However, many couples need to be mutually dynamic to be happy.

Positive Postulate:

Aries and Libra would need to be in basic harmony with their values. Positively speaking, if there was basic attraction and similarity of personal values, they could offset their differences and make their unique contributions to the match. Aries fire can be its own dramatic show, and Libran thoughtfulness and hesitance could give the dynamic Aries time to ponder before leaping. Libra could take warm assurance that while they provide stability, things would still keep moving and get done.

Romance Recommendation:

Aries and Libra would provide romantic fireworks. Librans are artistic in romance and a winsome attractive Libra could give the Aries something to seek on a continuing basis. Arian flame could light the wick of Libra. Aries could love giving nice things, Libra could enjoy receiving them. If Aries maintained interest, and Libra did not get frivolous, it could be a strong continuing romantic positive.

Conflict Quotient:

Libra and Aries could have fiery issues getting conflicts resolved. Libra does not like conflict and tends to freeze up if things get too noisy. Aries does have the ability to get confrontational. Libra would ask for more quiet and seek balance during the conflict. Then if Aries takes it up another notch, that put Libra into an emergency state, Libra would want to lower the volume first, and Aries would tend to increase the volume or become even more confrontational. Aries would want to teach itself how to approach Libra. Libra would have to teach itself not to overreact.

Peace Parlay:

Life in the end is repetitive and mundane, and so is Romance itself. This factor asks the question: "Can we be bored together over the long term?" Libra and Aries, would want to try to avoid being too bored together. Libra does not like boredom, but can be boring. Aries would tend to fight the boredom issue, and Libra would enjoy Aries attempts. That could be good, as long as their solutions were from the same page.

Keep Up The Interest Graph:

Libra and Aries could "keep up the interest". Because of their "cardinality" - ACTION oriented, they would both want to move their issues along to make the lack of interest be a thing to avoid. The only issue here is that they head off in basically, the same direction. If they were attracted to each other in the beginning, there is no obvious reason that would wain. Aries would want new agendas, and Libra, though hesitant, would probably be attracted to new baubles and settings and games.

Seven Year Itchiness:

There are some signs that by their nature are more stable in their love interests and family concerns as time goes on. Others are not. The 7 year itch can trip up any union. Aries, seeking to see what is over the next hill, might fall victim. Libra could be enchanted by temptation and perhaps love the thrill of it, but not seek to upset their world, unless something were quite destabilizing and hurtful. If things were not good, they would both want to be alert during this time, if they valued the basic soundness of the relationship.

ASTROCOMPATIBILITY POSSIBILITY RATING: 60% Positive Long Term - 70% Short Term. Attraction, fun and action could draw these two together in the beginning. As the relationship ages, it would mean that they shared goals and values. Fire and Air is not always the best combination, but the shared cardinality predicts moving along together on fun plans, as life goes on.

You Know Aries Is Attracted to Libra and Vice Versa. So What Could the Problems Be?

Shestarr: I will be looking forward to your update. It's great to feel this good. The downside to all this up is where do you end up on an even basis, after it all settles down? Keep in touch. Blessings.

Shestarr from Austin, TX on July 09, 2012:

And I really do believe that I am in love with him. He, the same for me. We agree that it was one of those, "Love at first talk" type of life-altering moments. We loved eachother before we met in person and kept it a secret because we know no one would understand what we cannot understand, ourselves.

We met in person three weeks after the very first day we spoke via phone... And from the very first conversation to now, it's like we are having one big long, powerful, continuous, bonding conversation that never ends and only grows.

From the very first communication to now, our connection is unlike anything I've ever experienced. So please forgive my struggle in finding the right words to describe our union.

I will be sure to check in and update with the progress. Again, I thank you for your time; from the bottom of my heart =)

Shestarr from Austin, TX on July 09, 2012:

Christofer, I am truly grately for your assessment! And I will remain hopeful for the absolute best. I will be sure to update.

All the very best to you and yours =)

Christofer French (author) from Denver on July 08, 2012:

Shestarr: Okay, so I'm and Aries female with Venus in Pisces, Moon in Capricorn and Mercury in Aries. in I've been in a serious relationship with a Libra with Venus in Virgo, Moon in Aries and Mercury in Libra...

OK, to answer your question from your placements, and then answer your bigger question, Aries/Cap Moon/Venus in Pisces. Him: Libra/Aries Moon/ Venus in Virgo. Address the Moons first. You are both hard edged deep inside. It's good that you both are. Sharing Aries and Capricorn, I don't fear for either of you. Or, I could say, I fear for both of you.

This looks like a workable situation as long as you both figured out that your emotional terrain is about as aggressive and tough as your sun signs. So, it seems like you are matched.

The big differences are in your love planets: Venus in Virgo and Venus in Pisces.

It's funny, Virgo is happy to pick on people because they just don't like something that is not on their list of appropriateness. "Complaining at a restaurant" is a typical Virgo issue. Lose the relationship because your partner is being "impolite".

Your VENUS IN PISCES is where your sensitiveness lies. I wish I could grab him and say, "Hey Dude. Care for her. Care for her heart". Of course from your perspective, you can't ask him, (or its hard too) to care more for you, because you're so tough otherwise with your Aries and Capricorn.

His Libra will always leave him a bit stuffy and worried about things like your silly restaurant thing. It should make you laugh that his ARIES MOON is what evens up with your Aries Sun. However, traditionally speaking the SUN rules the Moon when they share the same placement.

So, his Venus in Virgo will always be an irritant to you, unless he decides to shut up. His Moon in Aries will always give him the confidence to try to deal with you. I am glad he is a Libra. They are not as prone to combat as Aries. All things considered I think you are both well armed against each other. So now, the big question: Do you love each other?

Distance is always tough. Libra is always in a state of "why can't this be better?", so expect that. You are strong and know what you want. His negatives are only irritating. Your Venus in Pisces should always step forward and added a very needed touch of SOUL to your union. All the best. It's great to see a union like this happen. Blessings.

Shestarr from Austin, TX on July 07, 2012:

Good day, Christofer! I hope all has been well with you.

Okay, so I'm and Aries female with Venus in Pisces, Moon in Capricorn and Mercury in Aries. in I've been in a serious relationship with a Libra with Venus in Virgo, Moon in Aries and Mercury in Libra...

It's pretty serious after 1 month. I'm in Texas, he's in Florida & we talk every day on the phone for 1 to 6 hrs at a time, & he's brought me to meet his parents in Florida, where we all had a lovely dinner at his parent's house. We've gone to several places to look at rings and everything is lovely...

We are finally beginning to learn eachother's quirks and dislikes and had a slight disagreement for the first time yesterday. (He percieves my being opinionated and a food critique at restaurants as "complaining"). No biggie, we debated, agreed to disagree and got over it.

With all this, I still somehow sometimes I feel a bit insecure in the relationship, mainly due to the fact that he spoiled me with endless attention in the beginning and now things have slowed just a bit. But he never falls short of reassuring me that I am his soul mate, I was made for him and that his love for me has not wavered. And he tells me that he steps back a little so that he's not obsessing over me while I am so far away. He admitted that it pains him to have tasted true love and not have immediate access to me.

We are obviously both very hopeful for this to work.

Does it seem likely to sustain the trails that the distance tolls on us?

John: Thanks for your comment. I have an article which I call "Triads" in which I ask for Moon and Rising. If you check out that article, you will see these people (many of them have their whole charts done, but they still come to this article) at any rate, I am trying to educate that the Moon and Rising play such a big role. This is a kind of intermediary educational step from thinking only "Sun Sign" to pointing them to getting their whole charts done. The fact that they have to go to their Mom's and get the hour of birth, and get an automated answer for the Moon (city of birth) means that I am taking them along a path that will hopefully end up with more people getting their charts done. Thanks for your interest.

John Sarkis from Winter Haven, FL on May 08, 2012:

Great hub Christofers. Furthermore, unless someone has their complete natal chart, you can't give 100% accurate reading. The Moon and the Ascendant signs are really important as well.

Voted up

Niamh: Looks like you got a lot out and vented for your benefit.

Niamh on March 17, 2012:

This was an interesting read. I'm a Libra female very happily married (8.5 years and going strong!) to an Aries male. I don't think everything in this rings true for us (necessarily), but I think that has to do with our Rising and Moon signs. Both of us have Earth Moon signs, and I think that adds stability to our relationship (and our desire to have stability). Our relationship started as an exciting adventure (we got married very shortly after we met... ran off and eloped), but we were lucky enough to have the same values, beliefs, and goals in life. And also the strong desire to have a successful marriage (we both come from divorced families with parents who are not lucky in the love department).

The Libra attribute of disliking conflict in my relationship is me to a T. In fact, my dislike of conflict between us is pretty severe, and frankly ridiculous. He can just be a bit snippy with me, and I'm almost in tears. I know that part of what's accelerating this is that I'm Cancer Rising. I don't get emotional over very many things (in fact, Cancer Suns often annoy me because I find them too whiny and emotional!), but when it comes to my romantic relationship, the emotional side of me is kicked into overdrive and I become the very thing I hate about Cancers... whiny and emotional!

The part in this that I thought wasn't so "right-on" with him is the part that says that Aries tends to get more confrontational and turn the volume up in conflicts. He was a bit like that in the beginning, but because of my over-emotional reactions to conflict with him, he's learned rather quickly not to do that. Our "fights" don't involve screaming matches and they are over with quickly. We both took that old adage "never go to bed angry" to heart. Thankfully, we have this wonderful ability to communicate with each other even though we think TOTALLY differently sometimes.

When I think of an Aries, impatience is an attribute that I would think of. And he does, in fact, get very impatient with strangers more than I do (I tend to give the benefit of the doubt with others more than him)... BUT he's a much more patient parent than I am. I get very frustrated very easily. He doesn't like my laziness, and he doesn't like that my laziness rubs off on him, hahaha... but for the most part he's pretty patient about it. Until the house gets WAY too messy... then his patience has run out.

The "boring" thing. Hmm. We are both home-bodies. I think others (who like to party and all that) would find us boring. But we very much enjoy each others' company. Neither of us have any friends in real life. I have an online community of friends that I'm very social with... but I have no friends in person. Not that that bothers me. I'm pretty much my husband's ONLY friend, lol. He does not care much for other people (he doesn't really have the patience for them) and he hates crowds. He's very content to sit at home, playing video games, and hanging out with me and the kids all day. I'm very happy with that too, but I'm more of the one who likes to go out. Not to party though... mostly to just get out and maybe go shopping. I am often worried that the mundane and predictable lifestyle is too "boring" for him, but he assures me that he's not at all bored. Maybe it's that Virgo Moon sign of his (I, unfortunately do not know his Rising sign)? But just in case, I do try to remain... hmm... "spicy", LOL. He has also told me that, while he doesn't always agree with every opinion of mine, he loves how passionate I am about my opinions. I like to debate, I'm very grounded in what I believe in (possibly from my Earthy Moon sign?) while still remaining open-minded, and I vehemently stand up for my beliefs... which is something he really loves about me. And I love him for loving that about me, haha. He is also strongly opinionated, but thankfully we agree on the issues that are MOST important to us. If we didn't, I don't know how well we would be getting along!

Overall, I feel like I lucked out when it came to love. We very stupidly jumped into a marriage when we didn't even know each other, but we happened to be very compatible... and had the desire and drive to make the marriage last. I don't know if ALL Libras and Aries are perfect matches, but I think we have the right combination of signs in us, plus the upbringing that pushed us to strive for successful marriages, that really makes us quite compatible.

...I typed way too much. Oh well.

I am very into astrology and have done alot of research as well. This is very very accurate! The Aries/Libra combo is concidered the most powerful as far as opposite signs go as they are Masculine Energy(Aries)and Feminine Energy(Libra)I am an Aries woman,of course lol,and have been with my Libra man for 4 years..and no it has not always been a bed of roses, but he has a decidedly calming effect on my aggression and pulls me from my gloomy depths like no other man I've known and he tells me all the time I'm his "savior" and I help him to be more decisive and keep his pretty head out of his ass lol.The best way to keep our relationship strong,as we have learned the hard way,is for me to let down my guard and trust his oppinions more so he feels accepted and appreciated and for him to be open and honest in communication so I don't have to wonder what he's weighing out in his Libran noggin lol.We truly do balance eachother.I can't even explain it,but we have an almost psychic connection. We have even dreamed the same dream at the same time several times over the years and one of us will just be about to tell the other something and the other will say it!Kind of freaky but we just laugh now!I won't lie though, there have been times we confused the heck out of eachother and we both tend to do things completely opposite to the other, right down to I have to brush my teeth with cold water and he with warm lol.Never a dull moment..just how I like it ;)

Amber on April 12, 2011:

I am an Aries woman who has been with a Libra man for a year now. We are very compatible, we share common interests and goals. We can go out and have fun, and also stay in, light candles, and just talk about anything (from our day to day lives to ancient worlds to literature to our future together). I just got pregnant with our first child, and he is very happy, but I doubt he'll be very present in the child raising, which is fine since I want to take over anyway. He has kept his relationship annoyingly strong with his ex of 8 years, and cheated with her early on, which seems to happen a lot with Libras, so i'd watch out, if things don't seem right, they probably aren't. It can sometimes be hard to talk with him because he will stay on one subject for so long that I get bored, but for the most part he is intellectually stimulating. It is a worthwhile union if you are willing to deal with his need for privacy and his flirtatious ways. I enjoy each day we spend together, and the freedom he allows me. We really fit together perfectly one on one. I know that we will at the very least be friends for life (even before the baby I knew that).

i am it an Libra man now. He is really like that in those descriptions. We are total opposites.. sometimes I expect more from him which is really not what I expected. I am Aries, and I am really authoritarian which he told me he was expecting me to be like that in our relationship which I am really tired of doing. We get along real good because of our interest. We go out every week, go jogging or just to hang out in some place and to explore more about each other. We are really great opposites when it comes to values and personality most especially with behavior. I was asking myself before, how he liked me? because we've known each other for quite some time and I was surprised because he was just a quiet guy and I am rude, outspoken and tactless.. I was surprised that we get along just fine. We don't argue a lot well except for me who's always jealous about things but he was never. Match made from heaven, I wish. We are in relationship for 2 months now, living together for 1 month and not so bad idea. ^^ Love him!
