Adam & Eve First Christians: Ministering Angel Episode Three

Rodric's opinion of the Restored Gospel's doctrines change as more revelation comes. In the meantime, reasoning and perception rule the day.

Gift to All Mankind

Adam, Eve and all of their posterity will not have to suffer for sins because Jesus suffered spiritual death, which is separation from God. He suffered for all sins.

Upon the cross at Calvary, they crucified the Lord. And when He cried before the people He gave up His Spirit, (that is, Jesus Christ) and only His broken body remained. His spirit and His body separated. On the third day, Christ took up His body again.

As a gift to all of mankind, because He paid for our sins, all of our wages, we have no reason to remain dead though we will die. All humanity will live again as a gift to the good and bad.

Wages of Grace

Adam and Eve had to do the same thing that those who accept Christ today do. They worked by faith to accept the commandment of Christ through the ordinances and principles of Faith, Repentance, Baptism by immersion in water, received the Gift of the Holy Ghost through the laying on of hands, and endured to the end of mortality in the faith.

Of course, the things they did differed from what the House of Israel did, since Adam and Eve had a fullness of the gospel and not the Schoolmaster mentioned by Paul to the Saints at Galatia. [Galations 3:24]. Adam and Eve had a full understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because they were taught by Angels and God Himself.

The wages of grace is a life of sacrifice and service. Adam and Eve, like Jesus, willingly endured whatever the Lord saw fit to have them experience. They endured the murder of their son. They endured the falling away of many of their offspring. They endured the exile of another son. These two willingly paid the price of receiving grace by submitting to God's will.

Spiritual Death

Spiritual death is separation from God the Father.

As mentioned before, Adam and Eve were banned from the presence of God because of the transgression in the Garden of Eden. All mankind suffers that ban temporarily because Christ overcame that portion of death by suffering for all sins in Gethsemane.

Adam and Eve learned about the supernal truth that Christ's infinite atonement would retroactively include all of humanity from the first humans to the last ones. Christ's atonement is "an atoning sacrifice by Christ that is unbounded by time, ethnicity, geography, or even kinds of sins, save for the unpardonable sin of denying the Holy Ghost," [1] asserts Elder Spencer J. Condie Of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ.

The Atonement benefits all people ever born, or whoever will be born. It "includes all people 'from the days of Adam down' to the end of time [Alma 40:18], those 'both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female' [Alma 11:44]. The Atonement is also infinite in the sense that the Savior not only overcame death and sin, but he also took upon himself 'the pains and the sicknesses' and the 'infirmities' of his people [Alma 7:11–12]. The Atonement is infinite, too, in that because of the redemption made possible by his beloved Son, our Heavenly Father is able to forgive us “as often as [we] repent” [Mosiah 26:30–31; see also Moroni. 6:8].[1]

Physical Death

Physical death is the separation of our spirits from our bodies.

Christ overcame physical death when He took up His body again after three days of work in the world of the spirits. Christ did not deserve death because He lacked sins of His own to forsake; therefore, what was there to prevent Him from rising since the wages of sin is death? He had earned no wage to die. Christ, due to his ability to live forever, died to pay the price for the sins of Adam and Eve and all of their descendants. With the price being satisfied for all the sins that people could ever commit, the Gospel of Jesus Christ allows for all people to rise again after they die. There is no need to pay again for sins that have been paid. That event is called the resurrection.

Master Advocate

I imagine Jesus will speak for us and say something to this effect,

"I, who am Holy and without blemish, spot, or justification for death, do present to You, Father of all, this sibling to enter the Heavens and to rule as a joint heir with Me. I have paid for his (or her) sins and I am worthy to seek life with him (or her)."

I imagine The Father will then grant permission saying something in this manner,

"Let him (or her) that is redeemed enter into My rest and inherit power in My kingdom for Jesus Christ's sake, Who without blemish or justification for death through sin did atone for this man (or woman) that he (or she) may enter into Perfection and Glory with Me.

Angels Preach of Christ

Moses recorded the lives of the first parents in the first books in the Holy Bible. In the Book of Moses, another record obtained in these last days, Moses further clarifies that "the Gospel began to be preached, from the beginning, being declared by holy angels sent forth from the presence of God, and by his own voice, and by the gift of the Holy Ghost. And thus all things were confirmed unto Adam, by an holy ordinance, and the Gospel preached, and a decree sent forth, that it should be in the world, until the end thereof; and thus it was. Amen." [Moses 5:58-59]

Adam and Eve had a fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught to them by angels of God! Following is creative license I have taken from Scripture with the intent to demonstrate possibly what an Angel declaring the Gospel to Adam and Eve could have gone.

Angel Declaring

"Yea, even so he shall be led, crucified, and slain, the flesh becoming subject even unto death, the will of the Son being swallowed up in the will of the Father." Mosiah 15:7

Father Adam

"Our sins wounded His soul and our lies wounded His heart! He felt the weight of our secrets as He suffered for them. Praise God, He suffered that He could take them and remove them from our lives!"

Mother Eve

"Were it not for our transgression we would not have joy in posterity; and we would not know redemption from sin. We would not know the meaning of the love of God. I bless the Plan of Happiness and Our Son through Mary, Jesus, who will save us from our transgression and our sins and our children's sin down to the last generation of time."

Angel Declaring

"And thus God breaketh the bands of death, having gained the victory over death; giving the Son power to make intercession for the children of men—" Mosiah 15:8

Adam joys and expresses,

"Death hath no sting for it is only a long sleep and then we awake! Glory to God on high! We will not be separated from God forever, but we have an intercessory Child from God for entrance back into our home with Father."

Angel Declaring

"Having ascended into heaven, having the bowels of mercy; being filled with compassion towards the children of men; standing betwixt them and justice; having broken the bands of death, taken upon Him their iniquity and their transgressions, having redeemed them, and satisfied the demands of justice." Mosiah 15:9

Imagine the first parents hearing something similar to these words! After having brought about death in the world to learn that though it comes, it does not come immediately for partaking of the fruit, but they will be given the law of sacrifice. Adam and Eve chose to submit their lives from that time forward.

So are you saying "sweating some blood" is the ultimate sacrifice? Or dying while knowing that you will live again after three days is so awesome. I just do not get that.

I am amazed that young people like yourself do not take science seriously. Scientist all over the world have proven the world and humanity much older than 6000 years. The story of Adam and Eve is romantic and intriguing but that's all it is a story.

It was a great experience putting my personal beliefs out for all to see how I unite my faith in Christ with the Eden story.
