Accepting God Is Real

Sometimes writers distance themselves from religious subjects. Religion is still taboo to speak about. Read about it instead.

We live in a prison of our own making. I call it: what we think things should be and what we things are not. There are at least a hundred million other people like me in the world, I figure. There is no basis for that estimation. ...just an assumption. In this prison, we limit ourselves, right? The limit comes from the things we experience, “reality.” I have noticed that I turn off my brain when people start sharing what they believe; therefore, 100 million people out there could possibly do the same. For the other seven billion-plus I hope to reach, not like me--hopefully less like me now that I am aware--come the next words God is real, based on my limited experience in mortality.

God looks from above the fray of mortal life and into its reality...

Billions of differing beliefs exist--as individual and personal as the people who hold them. All religions are not true and good or equally effective in the lives of their adherents. National law in each nation should protect religions equally where religions are allowed. God, our Father, allows all religious beliefs because He loves us all and wants our eventual perfection. There is one way to perfection that comes from many paths on the way to the road to perfection.

God looks from above the fray of mortal life and into its reality, I assert. God sees things from an eternal perspective; therefore, He provided for our mistakes, wickedness, and cruelty.

Christians, Muslims, and Jews call it salvation. Buddhists call it Nirvana. Other faith traditions refer to it in other ways, but we all have some sort of absolution in mind no matter how joyful or fearful that atonement is or is the lack of atonement.

God sees how each line connects...

We are as eternal as the Father who created us is the position I take. It is the only position I can take. It is mine. I proclaim God will reveal all truths to us at some point in our eternal futures when we are individually ready to receive.

God sees how each line connects--how each conflict ends and lends to the ultimate benefit of those of us blinded by our circumstances.

Individual understanding and application of religious teachings are what matter in our lives. God gives us individual missions in life, challenges to overcome faithfully I contend--Christianity being my faith-base.

I am a Christian. Of course, I do no speak from the perspective of an agnostic or atheist.

Like Jesus Christ, God’s only Son in mortality, we will receive our glory when we have completed our mission to become like He is. I assert that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation--not because of Christianity but because God set up life to send Christ, as He did, to make restitution for humanity so that we could have as many belief systems as we wanted and believe in what we wanted without frustrating God’s plan in the least. I am a Christian. Of course, I do no speak from the perspective of an agnostic or atheist.

God expects more from our generation because He gives us more with which to work.

As many of us dance around our personal golden calves of life, God is revealing instructions to His prophets to give to us, but only if we willingly receive them--never by force.

Only, this time, His prophet will not cast the law upon the ground as Moses did as recorded in the Holy Bible. Unlike those sisters and brothers, we have the benefit of information. We walk around with small libraries in our hands called mobile phones that Moses did not have access to in those days. Had Moses had a mobile device he could have checked social media to see Instagram posts and tweets about Israelites forming the golden calf. He did not have that blessing. We do.

No longer is a proverbial Moses standing alone on the mountain receiving the law of God. There are many men and women standing on mountains receiving the word of God for their families, churches, and nations. Most of God’s children can read compared to a handful of priests, scribes, and rich in the old days. We get to discover who is speaking the truth.

Prophets do not need to go to the mountains to make holy places. We build temples, now. God expects more from our generation because He gives us more with which to work.

Ressurection and Heaven came to Jesus in three days because He did what God wanted Him to do the right way from the beginning.

For the rest of us, resurrection and Heaven comes through Jesus. God expects us to be prepared to enter into heaven perfected and clean through Jesus Christ's atonement. If it takes an eon for it to happen, Jesus has already paid the price that we can take time to be ready to enter.

It means to love everyone and everything without exception...

What does it mean to become like God? It means to love everyone and everything without exception and to act on that love without limitation. Some may argue with this definition, but human beings create boundaries. God offers unlimited access to those who are willing to act faithfully.

What does it mean to act faithfully? “Believe in God; believe that He is, and that He created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that He has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.”

“And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that He would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them.” (see Mosiah 4:9-10 in The Book or Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ.)

I love the Savior. My reasons for loving Him vary as times and circumstances change. One constant reason is: He loved me first by providing me hope through His atoning suffering and sacrifice at the hands of the Roman soldiers on Mount Calgary.

We are siblings because we all lived with Heavenly Father as spirits

Jesus proclaims a personal message of connection to God on the individual level without any intercessor other than the invocation of His name during the prayer to the Father.

In His teachings, He exhorts us to pray to God, the Father in Christ’s name--not out of vanity, but love. Because He perfectly executed the Father’s plan for our salvation, God the Father honors His Son by having us remember Jesus Christ’s sacrifice in all our prayers.

Jesus is our brother because we all come from the same source of Heavenly Parentage. He is our Father in that He fathered our salvation through His suffering under the direction of Heavenly Father. He is our God in that He alone has the power to take us back to heaven as directed by our Father in Heaven.

Jesus stands apart because He willingly did what our Heavenly Father required of Him for His other siblings. He kept all the commandments! We are siblings because we all lived with Heavenly Father as spirits before He sent us to mortality to experience life and learn to become like He is.

Jesus promised that He prepares a place for His faithful followers in the mansions of His Father. I testify that He prepared that place and many places for all of the human family since Adam and Eve first stepped out of Eden’s Garden, in the name of the Savior, even Jesus Christ, amen.

Thanks, Bill. I take comfort in knowing apathy is not my lot. There will always be a strong emotional response. I hope always it is love.

Bill Holland challenged me to do more with it! Flourish, I am hoping to. Thanks for reading it.

Oh, how I long for us to exercise more tolerance and civility towards each other. We don't have the belief the same way to treat each other with decency. It is nice to know what people believe, explore the differences of those beliefs, and unite our similarities in a common cause for good--like writing!.

Pamela, your faith always buoys me up in my own faith for the atonement of Jesus Christ. His grace is sufficient to fill the willing hearts and heal the weary soul from the depression and hurt this world offers to challenge us.

People may wonder how. I wonder how sometimes! I know God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to pay for my sins so that I don't have to if I accept His sacrifice. That makes me love Him. Because He did it for every person dead, alive, and will make me love Him even more. Because His plan is bigger than a church, makes me love Him even more!

Miebakagh Fiberesima, thanks for sharing your views here. I was having a pretty tough day until I came on Hubpages to post a poem I finished writing and saw your comment. It made my day just to see it. If you read my new poem, you will see why.

I agree to some degree. We, mortals, keep coming up with new "ways of life" or religions to keep us distracted on this globe given to us by God.

God is love. The other things I believe and claim about God pale to the truth of His love for all His children and creations on this globe. Ultimately, I believe we will experience eternal satisfaction and joy in the end--from the most wicked of us to the holiest. God loves us all.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on June 14, 2021:

I love your proclamation of faith, my friend. Love is the answer, and you are oozing that. Blessings to you always!

We could use a little more love, tolerance, and understanding these days. This was well written.

I was unable to comment on the article about you meeting your dad but was moved by the raw emotional honesty account. I'm so happy for you that it was a good reunion.

Hi Rodric,

This is an excellent article explaining Jesus and your Christian faith., Rodric. It is my faith also. I have been reading the Old Testament every morning for months and the people never seem to learn for long. We are blessed because Jesus made the sacrifice to atone for sins. We can pray to be forgiven and learn from our bad experiences knowing we are forgiven.

Rodrics, religion as I see it originate right with Adam and Eve, when they step momentary aside with God, and have a new relationship with Satan. I don't know what this new religion is called. But in all my study and research, it has been term witchcraft. My concept is that God had nothing to do with religion. So, he 'drove'. Mr & Mrs Adam out of the paradise garden. Moses, while on the mountain had an internet connection with the creator God. Otherwise, God could not told him 'thy people have have turn aside'. The billions out there are in the hands of God. But he still need a man-connection to reachout to them. Thanks for the read.
