Al Noor Mosque is the famous mosque of Sharjah, built by the order of the wife of ruler of Sharjah, Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed al Qassimi. It is located behind Khalid Lagoon on Buhaira Corniche.
What is unique about Al Noor Mosque?
There are around 600 mosques in the city of Sharjah, but "Al Noor Mosque" is famous among them. It is famous for its architectural design, which is influenced by the classical Turkish Ottoman architecture exhibited in the exceptional Sultan Ahmed Mosque, popularly known as the Blue Mosque in Turkey.
"Al Noor mosque", during Light festival in Sharjah
"Sharjah Light festival" is the event in which the famous historical places are decorated with the art of drawing, light and music. This event continues for around 7-8 days and it is held almost every year. The main purpose behind this "Light festival" is to promote Tourism.
As Al-Noor Mosque is the famous mosque of Sharjah, it is also decorated during light festival. The mosque shown in the picture is not painted, but by the art of light and drawing, it looks like it is painted that way.

Are Non Muslims allowed to visit mosque from inside?
Yes, non- Muslims are now allowed to visit the mosque on Mondays at 10 am (except Public holidays). But registration is required before entering the mosque ( Registration area is at the entrance only).A Dress code needs to be maintained: No short or Skirt above the knee. Photography is also allowed during the Mosque visit.
Sessions are held for explaining about Islam and Culture of U.A.E..

This is a beautiful mosque Rumana. The lighting effect is just awesome. It is good to know non muslims are allowed to visit the mosque.
I've visited one mosque in my lifetime when I stayed in Mumbai but that was long back.
I certainly hope I get to visit this one.
