A Song: Jesus, Rock of My Defense

Singing and composing hymns and other songs have been part of my life since my teenage days

Composer's Foreword

The people of the world do different things to protect themselves from enemies and attacks.

In this part of the world people go to the herbalists and other powerful people to ask them to do something for them which will be protecting them.

In the advanced clime and yea with the advent of increased technology, people buy sophisticated things which will be installed on their homes and systems to protect them from evils.

Disturbingly, these things which have been done by people and which they relied upon do fail them. Such things fail when some people needed them most like it happened to the prophets of Baal in the bible while confronting prophet Elijah (1 King 18).

The sensible ones on noticing this do seek for alternative means.

The alternative means which is the sure means for protection is thr Lord Jesus because he has been tested over the years and he has never for once failed, therefore he could be relied upon.

If anyone also needs protection from the enemies and demons, Jesus is the sure protection that they should seek.

I have composed this song to show some people that Jesus is the protection they have been seeking for years.

For those who have relied on Christ, this song also tells us that he is the one with protection that won't fail us and we should continue to rely on him.

Sorry for replying late, it is the same common phenomenoh in my country that leads to this Pamela.

This is a wonderful testimony. We all need his protection and there are times when our hearts would be overwhelmed by situations around, however, having been in the boat of our lives he will still the storms and give us uncommon protection.

I agree that Jesus is the protection we all need. Your words are beautiful once again.

Many years ago when I was really afraid, I use to read Psalm 91 very often just needing that protection. Everything did work out, and I believe Jesus protected me.
