A Hymn: You Are Not A Child of Circumstances

Singing and composing hymns and other songs have been part of my life since my teenage days

Composer’s Foreword

I do not know how to put my composed words into tonic solfa format, but having learnt however remotely how to compose songs using local Yoruba format, I decide to come with a work around on how to make my songs internationally acceptable, therefore, I have been mimicking some hymns which I believe anyone who knows how to sing such hymn globally would be able to sing along with me my composed song using the tune that I have used beneath.

Having said this, I sincerely invite you to join me in singing this newly composed song, because I know music yea songs is one of the things that makes heart merry lifting hearts out of the cauldron of darkness that the enemies may have subjected people to and draws heart closer to God and his blessings.

The Composed Song

1. In the beginning the earth

Was without form and even void

Upon the face of the deep

A total darkness prevail’d

2. In the beginning Holy Spirit

Moves to and fro ‘pon the water

And hath no rest for himself

For darkness pervades ‘verywhere

3. In the beginning God says

Let there be light everywhere

And there was light everywhere

And the light was very good

4. In the beginning God formed

Heavens and even the earth

And all the hosts inside them

And behold they were very good

5. In the beginning God formed

Mankind even in his own image

Male and female he created them

And he showers his blessings on them

6. You ‘re neither a child of circumstance

Nor ‘re you an after-thought child

You’ve been grafted by God’s hands

You ‘re even his express image

7. Before the world was even formed

Yea from foundations of the world

You have been in plans of God

Therefore he formed you in his image

8. Yea before your conception

He knows you and calls you by name

Because you are a special one

Even the apple of his eyes

9. Thought of peace ‘re his thoughts for you

They are not of evil at all

For there is no evil with him

To give you expected end
