Biblical Earthquakes are referred to at least 7 major times in the Bible, from Exodus to The Tribulation. Of course there are many more mentions of the earthquake in biblical times, but these are some that span the entire bible.
Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the LORD descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, the whole mountain trembled violently,
1 Kings 19:11
The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by."
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
Then you will flee to the valley of my mountains, because this valley between the mountains will go as far as Azel. You will flee as you did from the earthquake at the time of King Uzziah of Judah. The LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones will be with him.
Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!"
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose.
And I saw when it opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as hair sackcloth, and the whole moon became as blood...
Southwest Radio Ministries: Bible FAQs: Earthquakes
It is becoming quite fashionable to understand the earthquakes mentioned in biblical prophecy to be references to earthquakes that already occurred in the past. The word “earthquake” is used seven times in the Book of Revelation to describe five different earthquakes. Preterists (those who believe that prophecy was fulfilled in the past) argue that these earthquakes already occurred in the first century around the time of the destruction of the Jewish Temple by the Romans. In evaluating this claim we need to examine the historical records for earthquakes in the first century.

Another sign of the end times with increase in frequency and size of earthquakes.....will have to see how big this was in terms of deaths. The increase of Earthquakes are one of the signs of the end of Grace time period.
Earthquakes The Bible, Matthew 24:7
In The Promise, Hal Lindsey states, Jesus "warned that earthquakes would increase in frequency and intensity as this old earth prepared for its final cataclysm" (Page 198). Before we examine what the Bible has to say on this issue, let me say that from a scientific standpoint, these claims of increased earthquake activity in our day are false. In part they are misled by the increasing number of small earthquakes that are being catalogued and listed by newer, more sensitive stations throughout the world" (page 44). Now, let's look at what the Bible says about earthquakes.
The above are only a few of the most severe earthquakes.there were many more, and collectively they claimed well in excess of 1.5 million victims, with China, a nation which knows not God, suffering the greatest number of victims. One of the most dramatic of all the earthquakes of the 1800s, was the 1883 earthquake at Krakatoa, co-incidental with the eclipse of Roman church power. The word earthquake occurs about 20 times in the Bible and shake and shaking about the same number of times. Middle East archaeology confirms that there have been many destructive earthquakes in the Palestine area, which is at the northern end of the GREAT RIFT VALLEY fault.

Chesterton, the world won't end. But billions will die in the Tribulation Period. That period is rapidly approaching regardless of what that gentleman preached in 1999. It is now 2011 and look at what has transpired since then. I wonder if he still feels the same? He can call our Lord a liar all he wants but these events will still escalate and our Lord will still return.
