30 Days of Faith - Day 2

30-days-of-faith-day-2

The God of the Bible is a God of Faith. He releases faith through the Words that He speaks. Creation itself began with God speaking His Word. There is nothing that was created that He did not create and nothing that was created without faith. There is an old adage that declares "He made something out of nothing and, He made the nothing from which He made something."

Hebrews 11:3 [Living Bible version]

3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.

Often we leave it right there. We say God spoke and it was. But a little further down the scripture says that God put an action to the faith He spoke. In Genesis 2:19 we read that God "formed" every beast of the field and, and every fowl of the air".

Gen 2:19 [King James version]

19 And out of the ground, the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof

I Wonder

Maybe God had a picture in His heart of what everything should look like and how everything should function. Maybe as He spoke the picture took form. Or maybe He literally put His hand to the action of forming what He spoke. I do not know, and I can not find it in the Word.

What I know is once a thing was formed, God brought the thing to Adam. To bring something is physical action. He did not speak them to Adam, He brought them to Adam. God acted on His faith. He did something after speaking something.

The manifestation of God's faith was physical. It was not in His imagination or in a state of hope. His faith brought forth physical manifestation.

God Is A Demonstrator

When God spoke and then acted on His Words He was demonstrating to us how to use His Word. He spoke what was to be and then He formed what He spoke. He was not only demonstrating to us how to use His Word but how to walk by faith in His Word.

We are to follow suit with the expectation that when we speak in faith the tangible manifestation of what we have spoken will come into existence. Many people will take issue with this statement because the concepts of using your faith and walking by faith have received a bad reputation over time. And, the ministries that promote the use of faith have been criticized and deemed heretical by many.

However, we must consider that the Bible tells us that God is a God of faith. It also tells us that it is faith that pleases God. Therefore faith in and of itself cannot be wrong. So, the bad reputation concerning the concepts of 'using your faith', and 'walking by faith' must have been grossly misused, abused, and discredited.

But no matter how tainted the reputation, it cannot be denied that using faith and walking by faith is paramount to pleasing God.

Hebrews 11:6 [Amplified Bible]

6 But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.

James 2:18, 26 [Amplified Bible]

18 But someone may say, “You [claim to] have faith and I have [good] works; show me your [alleged] faith without the works [if you can], and I will show you my faith by my works [that is, by what I do].”

26 For just as the [human] body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works [of obedience] is also dead.

A Simple Definition of Faith is "Acting On What You Believe."

Did you know that not only were we created by faith but that we are also born with faith? Faith comes naturally, and we naturally act on it. We use faith every day without thinking about it. This can work both for our good and our detriment.

We expect the lights to come on when we hit the switch. That is an act of faith in the electricity and the light bulb. We expect the car to start when we turn the key or push the button. That is an act of faith in the motor and the gas tank.

We are secure about the electricity because we have paid the bill and the light bulb is new. We are secure about the car starting because we take care of it, and we put gas in the tank.

We should be secure enough in God to obey His Word, to act on His Word, to use our faith to draw closer to God and to walk by faith to reach the destiny God has prepared for us.

No Gimmicks - No Games

What are you believing for? What right thing do you need from God? Don't look to men who make vain promises. Look to God who never changes. Look to God who will lead and guide you. Desire a pure and honest heart, face your error, face your wrong. Don't run from God because of your guilt, run to God.

The work of faith is between you and God. Don't blame God if you are not willing to do as He asks. How can you/we expect step #2 to be revealed if we have not completed step #1? We cannot, and we should not.

God will minister to your heart and give you instructions. Your obedience to those instructions is putting action to your faith. Standing on the promises in the Word of God for your life is not arrogance it is using your faith.

Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith. Our faith is released by the words that we speak and the corresponding action that we do. Negative speaking results in negative manifestations. Remember, faith is unbiased it doesn't care who is using it, it just works naturally.

The Question and The Answer

The question becomes, "If we trust the electricity, the light bulb, the motor, and the gas, why don't we trust God who made all things?"

The answer is, We CAN trust God. He will lead us into a greater understanding of faith and how faith works. He will tell us when we are right and when we are in error. He is the base of our faith He is the source of our believing.

Take Action Now!

Let's begin to use our faith according to the Word of God. Be bold, be strong, be courageous. Seek God and find His instructions for your life each day. Let's use our faith to agree with God's instructions and to carry them out. Let's use our faith to attain the pure desires of the heart.

Let's use our faith to change our nasty attitudes and behaviors. Faith Works because we are made by Faith.
