Long distance relationship takes hard work, big time. Mainly because you are literally loving someone from a distance. Hence, loving someone who is hundreds, even thousands of miles away from you can be complicated, both emotionally and physically. No one wants to be in a long distance relationship, in fact most people say they would never consider a long-distance relationship (or, in abbreviation LDR) but that’s usually before they don't have a choice because sometimes responsibilities and opportunities gets in their way and they find themselves in long distance relationships. While we can all agree that long-distance relationships aren't ideal, they're definitely not the beginning of the end of your relationship.
With a correct mindset, realistic expectations, trust, creative ability to keep things interesting while you're apart and the right pieces of long-distance relationship advice, you can have a long distance relationship that thrives and grows stronger with time.

If you have found yourself in a long distance relationship, there are plenty of ways to make LDRs fun, exciting, and filled with love! These creative ideas are ways that can help spice up your long distance relationship to make your love life better than ever or you could call it ways in which you can keep your long-distance relationship flame burning.

Here are six different fun ways that you can follow to spice up your long distance relationship.

1. Watch a Movie Together

Watching a movie together with your partner is one of the ways that you can share your views on a particular movie you both had set out to watch and this can supplement movie nights. Therefore just because you are not in the same place doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some sweet TV time! So, pick a show or a movie you both have been dying to see and set aside a time every day or a couple of days to sit down and watch an episode at the same time. The beauty of this is that you can message each other your reactions while watching and it would feel like you are actually spending an evening together physically even if though you are both hundred miles apart.
This means that you don’t have to be together physically to engage in fun activities together. The internet has made it easy. Example of an application that you can use to watch movies simultaneously is Synaptop Theatre, it is a free app that allows you to watch movies simultaneously by synchronising video streaming. This app also allows you to fast forward, rewind and pause whenever you need to, and your partner will see the same thing you do. You can also comment about the movie in a special window. Other applications that you could use include the following: Watch2Gether, Showgoers, BlaTube, Rabb.it, SimulChat.

2. Send Your Partner a Surprise Gift

Sending of gift is a way to remind your partner of your love and affection for them and also that you have them in your mind. In long distance relationship, sending of gifts goes a long way as it helps your partner to think about you through out that day. Therefore, think of something your boo would totally love and send it to them. Now, you don’t have to break the bank to give out gifts to your partner. It’s the thought behind it that matters. Hence the gift does not necessarily need to be expensive. You could craft or write something yourself, or you could buy something online and send it to them as a surprise package.

3. Have a Digital Date

This simply means having a date but online this time. You are not seeing each other physically but you can see each other online whilst having a good time together. So, instead of just having your typical phone call or regular video call, try having a proper date night. For instance, you choose a night you are both free, pour yourself a glass of juice or wine, order a meal and have dinner together and spend a relaxing night together. Even if it is virtual, looking into each other’s eyes and hearing each other’s voices can make everything feel awesome and it can be a lovely experience. In addition to this, it increases bonding between you two and also makes you feel connected to each other while you are at it.

4. Throw in a Surprise Visit

Surprises are always welcome in any relationship but before you try this out, you might want to be sure that you are in a good place in your relationship. A really good place at that, so that you do not get accused of trying to catch them doing something they should not be doing. Hence, do not attempt this unless you are in a healthy and trusting relationship with your partner. With that in mind, there’s nothing better than seeing that shocked-yet-ecstatic grin spread across your partner’s face when they see you when they are least expecting it. Paying them a surprise visit would definitely melt their hearts and make them feel loved and cherished by you. Plan towards giving your partner a surprise visit and work towards it.

5. Do Similar Things

Having similar interest in certain areas helps when you are trying to spice up your long distance relationship. However, if you have little to no interest in similar things, you could get one by creating one together. It helps brings you closer and even more connected to each other. Plus, you don’t have to be physically together to engage in fun activities together. The internet has made it easy. Hence, recommend books, TV shows, movies, music, news etc. to each other. That way when you read, watch and listen to the same things, you get to have more topics in common to talk about and there will never be a dull moment in your conversations. Similarly, you would not run out of conversations to have plus it is a good way to create some shared experiences even though you are living apart.

6. Pray Together

As the saying goes ‘people that pray together stays together.’ Prayer is one of the element that you can add into your long distance relationship to spice things up. You and your partner could set out a time that you would meet via Skype or duo to have a prayer session together. Also you could give each other bible study plans to follow that would help your personal development and spiritual growth. While you engage in this activity you connect with your partner in a deeper level. With time you start to look forward to your prayer and bible study session with your partner.

There you have it, Long distance relationships don’t have to be dull. Get creative and have fun with your partner. Do anything that works for you. Remember, do not let the distance act as a barrier to your love and affection for each other.

In true love the smallest distance is too great and the greatest distance can be bridged.

Distance means so little, when someone means so much to you.

I love this (noted).

Keep up the good work.
