Interested in a peacock themed wedding? Read on.
Peacocks are the national birds of India. I am an Indian so these birds are extra special for me.
A peacock themed wedding would require vibrant colors in shades of blue, green, and gold. If you are from India you might be interested in a peacock themed wedding. Are you stuck for ideas though? Let me help you out.
Even if you are not from India but still looking forward to carrying out a peacock wedding theme, stick around and I will help you as much as I can to make your choice easier for you.
Peacock Wedding Invitations
You can start out by giving out peacock inspired invitations out to your guests.
Tips on how to choose Peacock wedding invitations :
- Get ones that are bright and colorful. Don't go for dull colors!
- Go for shades of Blue, Green, Brown, and Gold.
- Peacock feather prints make a wedding invitation look royal and grand. Select a card with peacock prints or artwork if possible.
- Take time in choosing the perfect card. You don't want to rush things and end up picking a card that doesn't really go well with your themed wedding ceremony.
How To Make Peacock Wedding Cakes
You can make use of peacock feathers to decorate your wedding cake. You will have to purchase good quality peacock feathers. Make sure that the feathers are arranged in such a way on the cake that they do not interfere when you cut the cake. A few feathers on top of your cake can look lovely! Another alternative method is to arrange the feathers separately from the cake. In the picture shown here, the cake has a fondant bow. Colored fondant gives your cake a more professional look. The video posted here shows how you can make a blue colored fondant.
You can make a cake with Blue icing to go with your peacock themed wedding. Even a White cake can look great with few peacock feathers on top of it. Use good food dyes to get the color you require.
If you do not want to use peacock feathers on top of your cake, you should go for peacock cake toppers. You can also use edible peacock feathers for your cakes and cupcakes.
How To Make A Colored Fondant
Peacock Wedding Dresses and Accessories
Dresses to try out for your peacock themed wedding day should mostly be in shades of Blue. Don't go for dull colors because you have to keep in mind that the surroundings are going to be vibrant. If you don't want to go too bold with your wedding dress and want to stick to traditional colors you can do so, but make sure to add some contrasting colors of Blue or Green to your wardrobe. It can be a necklace, bracelet or a hair clip. Why not use a purple/blue bolero shrug to go along with your wedding gown? It will be a nice additional touch.
Make the groom wear a peacock feather as an original boutonniere.
You can also put some peacock feathers on your hair instead of flowers. I really like those peacock feather hairbands and clips that you get nowadays. Peacock feathers come cheap as compared to flowers and you can even put some in your bouquets. Don't overdo the peacock feathers when it comes to accessories or wardrobe because that will just make you look tacky.
A Beautiful Peacock Dress
A Culture Shock?
Not exactly a bridal dress but you can get some inspiration from this piece made by Culture Bridal Couture (closed permanently now). Beautiful, isn't it?
The colors and the peacock feathers complement the theme perfectly.
A Beautiful Head Piece From Etsy
Creating A Beautiful Peacock Head Piece
Creating a beautiful Peacock feather headpiece like the one shown above is easy.
You will have to get some small feathers (you can get hair clips) and then use another sparkly clip beneath it for more glamour. You can get these clips at very cheap rates so that you can ensure yourself a splendid peacock themed party in a cost-effective manner. Either the bride can wear it or you can use them for bridesmaids or flower girls.
A small butterfly clip will look absolutely beautiful on your hair. Try to get vibrant hair shiny clips with colors in purple, dark teal, violet, etc.
Peacock Shoes & Shoe Clips
Peacock shoes are slowly becoming a big rage. If you would like to keep most of your attire simple, then spruce up the look a bit by wearing peacock shoes! Another option is to use peacock feather shoe clips on your shoes in case you have already purchased them. They are available in plenty online.
Peacock Themed Wedding Favors and Supplies
Wedding favors can be wrapped with bright blue paper with a small peacock feather attached to it. You can buy personalized wedding favors online for cheap rates.
Another option is to choose a well-decorated wrapping paper with peacock feathers. Get these favors so that they go well with the theme of your wedding - in this case, peacocks. Some pretty wrapping papers are shown at the side of this module.
You can give away blue color coated candies and blue decorative candles. Also try colors like Teal, Green, Cyan, and any color that has a Blue or Green tinge to it.
Use A Peacock Feather Fan Instead Of A Flower Bouquet
If you want your wedding to stand out more from the rest, then you should opt for carrying a peacock fan instead of the traditional flower bouquet.
Else, you can use your flower bouquet as usual but with few peacock feathers fixed in between them for an extra special effect.
Peacock wedding favors to impress your guests
You can present some unique yet affordable peacock wedding favors to your guests. Chocolates in peacock wrappers are a favorite currently.
Another option is to purchase colored almonds. They should be in colors that go along with your wedding theme. Make sure to choose wedding favors carefully as you would want to make a lasting impression on your guests.
Beautiful Peacock Wedding Bouquets
Blue Candles and Blue Flowers
Use a mixture of Blue and Green candles all over the wedding hall to give that dreamy effect to your wedding ceremony. You can use a big peacock feather centerpiece too. Blue and Purple flowers with Golden work can be used to decorate the place all over.
Make sure not to overdo anything! An overdose of any color can ruin the effect of your peacock themed wedding.
