Have you realized that you are still in love with your ex-boyfriend even though he ended your relationship? If so, you’re probably looking for clues that can help you get back together and put the breakup behind you for good. Your friends may have a lot of different options and they may conflict each other – or even themselves. They may be telling you that he’s not worth your time or affection and that you’re better without him in your life at all. It’s not easy to get past a relationship, even if you want to. You want to get him back, and you need to be focusing on methods that can make that happen.
If you’ve decided that reconciliation is truly what you want, don’t listen to people who would try to dissuade you from your ultimate goal. You need to have a plan in place to make reconciliation possible if not likely. The good news is that there are methods to encourage this reconciliation and to deepen your relationship and make it even stronger than it was initially. The key is to take a proactive approach, which means that you have to get started quickly if you hope to be successful.
Your behavior after your breakup holds the key to your chances of getting your relationship back. There are a lot of mistakes to be made, and if you behave inappropriately or in the wrong manner, you may have the opposite effect that you’re looking for. In other words, if you’re not careful you may just push your ex-boyfriend away for good – and that’s the last thing in the world that you want to do. The problem is that getting a hold of your emotions after a breakup is an exceedingly difficult task.
A lot of people in your position go completely off of the deep end when faced with an unwanted breakup. They turn into stalkers, obsessively checking their ex-boyfriend’s Facebook profile, showing up at his home or office, sending dozens (if not hundreds) of text messages, compulsively calling him whenever it strikes their fancy. The list is endless, and all of these behaviors need to be avoided at all costs – no matter how tempted you are to conform. These negative behavior patterns are unhealthy for him – and for you – and they’re going to make the road to reconciliation even more challenging, if not impossible.
You also need to avoid displaying your vulnerability in the form of begging, pleading or bargaining your way back into your ex-boyfriend’s heart. You can’t guilt-trip him into giving you a second chance at your romance. A desperate ex-girlfriend isn’t attractive to anyone, least of all your ex-boyfriend. Guys simply don’t like emotional reactions to things, and they’ll want to keep their distance from you as much as possible. This clearly isn’t going to help you win back his heart if he’s keeping you at arm’s length.
In order to successfully implement a plan towards reconciliation, your ex-boyfriend needs to see you differently from the way that he sees you after the breakup. You need him to see you in a positive, attractive light again, and none of these behaviors will help you towards that ultimate goal. You need to get a handle on your own negative emotions after the breakup, and if you can’t control these emotions, you need to put your plan on hold until you have a firmer grip on them. You need to reclaim your own independence and behave attractively again in order to regain your ex’s attraction.
Use Distance to Your Advantage:
Absence is not something that comes naturally to people after a breakup, but it works to soften your ex-boyfriend’s heart again. In order for your ex to start missing you again and thinking about reconciling your lost relationship, you need to give him time away from you while his thoughts and feelings progress. If you’re constantly hanging around, your ex will never have a reason to miss you at all – and he will therefore not start thinking about getting back together.
All you want to do is to throw yourself back in your ex-boyfriend’s arms again, but such a course of action is unproductive and unhelpful. Your ex-boyfriend needs to realize that there’s a big, gaping hole where you used to be, and you need to use that kind of distance and longing to your advantage in order to bring about positive change. All men are attracted to independent and confident women, and your ex-boyfriend is certainly no different.
Use His Ego Advantageously:
Most men think first with their egos, and you can use that typical male psyche to find a place back in your ex’s heart and mind again. All human beings have an innate desire to feel wanted and appreciated for what they are. Your ex-boyfriend wants you to want him – even if he took the initiative and ended your relationship. This comes across as extremely selfish, even though it is not intended to be. Your ex has actually built up a lot of their self-confidence on your behavior up to this point. Your ex is counting on the fact that you’re going to pursue them, and they’ve based a lot of their self-confidence on this one, clear assumption.
In order to force your ex to experience a momentary panic that can prompt them to start reconsidering their decision to end things, you need to give them something to worry about. Act as though the breakup didn’t really bother you as much as they’re expecting it to, and make it seem like you’re looking forward to moving on. This will cause your ex to begin questioning everything, and it will make him wonder if you ever had any true feelings for him at all. The brilliant part of the plan is that you don’t have to resort to any kind of negative behaviors – all you have to do is to reclaim your own power and independence.

I really enjoyed reading this Hub, Ex-ology. You have the ability to see both sides of the human-nature equation. You are right that it is natural to want to get back together with the one who initiated the breakup. Male or female, nobody likes to get dumped. And sometimes it really is possible to reconnect and reconcile.
But if we let our emotions run away and take us with them, the whole situation could be made worse. For example, even if the relationship just wasn't meant to be, a person wouldn't want the memory made worse because they got drunk and begged and pleaded outside his window and woke up all the neighbors:)
