Love a Mental Illness With a Cure

Misbah loves to write on different topics. She likes to write about love and relationship problems and solutions

We spend our lives trying to figure out how to explain the inexplicable: the process of falling in love and its devastating effects on emotional stability. Even scientists have wanted to add their grain of sand to the confusion that reigns in the matter, attributing the madness of love to strange biological behaviors that cause the brain to go around until it disconnects. And we can twist it in a thousand different ways, but the conclusion is always the same: falling in love is a state of transitory mental derangement. And we all love it, Right?

It all starts with a glance, and then you go absolutely crazy; in this case, it's not a poetic gadget. Suddenly, your life resembles a roller coaster of emotions revolving around the person you've just fallen in love with. As a result, the first signs of your mental illness emerge.

We are certain that infatuation is a mental disorder, despite the fact that it is not classified as such in any psychology textbook. At least when we fall in love we are closer than ever to obsessive-compulsive disorder by sending constant WhatsApp messages to our object of desire. And what about that psychosis of focusing all your thoughts on him.

Love is the closest thing to psychosis. Love is madness

— Sigmund Freud

It's also impossible to deny that we have manic symptoms when everything reminds us of him, when we constantly talk about him, or when we try to spend 24 hours a day with him. He's always there. And that radical transformation of reality that we do when we fall in love, idealizing that man until we make him "The Perfect Man". We have to accept our illness. Thankfully, there is a cure for this mental illness, and it's simple: time.

Infatuation is Not Love

Since there are no treatments without side effects, the repercussions of falling in love might range from complete disappointment to love fulfillment. And this is due to the fact that, contrary to common perception, falling in love is merely the first stage of love. Because reality occurs when falling in love ends. It is when love can clearly emerge between a couple; it is the moment to choose between love and the absence of love.

There are so many different ways of perceiving love that many issues come up when it comes to love at first sight. In fact, some people refuse to believe in the crush until they experience it. But, despite the fact that most of the time the conclusion is not as planned, the crush is one of those amazing times in a person's life that should be necessary.

We have to agree that the security of having found the better half, the thanks to fate for putting the perfect person in front of you, and the complete satisfaction you feel for having discovered the love of your life is one of life's most fascinating moments.

If you wonder how this character could have made you dizzy for a few months, unable to focus, unable to eat, and with a permanent stupid smile after you've cured yourself falling in love, you may assume that all that happened was not love.

If, on the other hand, you learn to see that guy for who he is, with all of his flaws and qualities, and you still want to establish a relationship with him, then it is love.

And now that you've gotten over your mental illness and found love, the most difficult part begins: forming a relationship that can deal with cohabitation, routine, everyday difficulties, and confidence. But don't be frightened; they say that love can overcome any obstacle.

Everyone experiences a sick love at some point in their lives.

It makes you feel so bad that you believe you're all fine.

You'll be able to get out of it... It's a long, exhausting journey.

But when you finally reach the peak, you take a deep breath.

— Misbah

My love for you is like a roaring wave;

it will always be powerful and deep.

It will resist any pain even in the midst of a storm,

wind, and heavy rain.

Our hearts are clean and our love is sweet.

Every heartbeat makes me love you even more!

The Real Love Goes Beyond the Physical Touch

Love often comes knocking on our door when we least expect it, and it has the power to transform our lives, bringing us down paths we could never have imagined. However, in other cases, we spend a great deal of energy in the belief that we are strong when the bravest decision we can make is to let the loved one go.

The emotional emptiness that we will encounter is often what prevents us from doing so, but it is from this place that new light can filter into our lives.
The act of love is incompatible with the possession and fear. To fully appreciate this sensation, we must learn to let go, to let go, to free ourselves from that which is not ours.

Everything we love is ephemeral and variable because it is free. We struggle to let go of the things we hold to when we love. We find ourselves in an addictive scenario that we have unknowingly fueled. Have you ever feared the conclusion of a love story? Yes, very likely, and such a circumstance breeds gloom and misery.

We begin relationships with a lot of optimism and hope, and everything appears to be perfect and forever at first. The reality, on the other hand, is that everything that starts can also stop, change, or transform.

We fool ourselves into believing that things are permanent, and as a result, we act and behave as if they are. In this way, we mislead ourselves into believing that particular sentiments, people who will never change, and situations will always be the way we want them to be. All of this is part of the tale we tell ourselves to avoid facing reality.

Thoughts-If You Truly Love Set it Free

True beauty extends beyond the physical. The true magic between two people is inscribed in an emotional reading of hearts that collide and come together in harmony, and that comprehend one another. It's the type of connection that persists even after you close your eyes.

"All I want is to talk to someone who knows what I'm going through." When an emotional connection collapses, this is without a doubt one of the most typical statements we repeat in despair.

Physical attraction is passionate, hollow, and short-term, but the attraction of the heart and soul, which beats to the same beat as our inner music, transforms us into the finest dancing partners in the world.

“Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along.”

True, bro. I agree with you :)

manatita44 from london on July 06, 2021:

What can I say? We cannot stop the flow of Tao and human love is an aspect of it, even with its limitations. Desire, with all its broken dreams, are also a necessary part of this struggle. This is how the soul evolves.

It can and does seem crazy or complex, but is fixed by the Divine and a very excellent weed-killer, as it eventually allows the light of the soul to shine. What is not necessary? Even Maya, the dream or illusion, is an aspect of God's body. Nothing comes from an empty void.

We come from the animal kingdom, some as professors but some as kindergarten students. No one escapes the fires of life. Know this and be free.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on June 30, 2021:

Misbah

This is so interesting.

You are right.

I guess it is like a mental illness when we fall in love.

We suddenly find ourselves thinking it will last forever.

Like we own this...

When in reality we don't own the other person.

It shatters us when a love dies...

Wanting to talk to anyone who will understand or else we hide in the corner quietly.

We let it plaque our thoughts.

Not sure what the answer is because we all love to dream that this love will last.

Great write.

Chitrangada Sharan from New Delhi, India on June 30, 2021:

An interesting read, Misbah!

Love is simple, as well as complex, to define or describe. But, it’s the very basis of our life, and a blessing to love someone, or be loved.

Life is not worth living, without true love. It gives meaning and purpose to our life.

I agree with you that it is beyond physical attraction.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful article.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on June 30, 2021:

I have learned to love, and it is much more comforting than an infatuation. :) I "love" this...and I love your heart. You are a loving human being, my friend, and I am very happy that I met you here on HP. Blessings always!

Thank you so much for your kind words, bro. I always appreciate your kind and insightful thoughts. My most heartfelt condolences. May God bless your sister's soul. Ameen!

manatita44 from london on June 30, 2021:

No, mi Habibi. Don't see it as good or bad. Sin is a very negative word. Ultimately, it is just an experience or challenge that the Supreme wants to give us. If you create the feeling of acceptance, it is not so bad.

My sister passed recently at 56. She lasted 8 years with Stage 4 cancer because she was so upbeat! Victory and defeat, success and failure are all imposters, as is pleasure and pain, yet necessary pointers on the journey. Om Shanti!

Misbah Sheikh (author) from The World of Poets on June 30, 2021:

Ha Ha, I guess, I am already paying it a lot, bro. May Allah have mercy on us all, forgive us our mountainous sins, strengthen our Imaan, give us patience and guide us to Jannah. Ameen!

manatita44 from london on June 30, 2021:

Haha.

Loosely speaking, Reincarnation is the process by which the soul evolves. The law of cause and effect, action and reaction (Karma), is interwoven with it.

We are mostly, let us say, 98% destiny (Fate). Grace has the last word, true, but the soul has to aspire, or be blessed by an Advocate of Allah or Brahman, such as a Krishna, Christ, Buddha, Ramakrishna, etc. They tend to do this when 'longing' or receptivity is present.

Otherwise, as long as we have a human body, we have to pay the price of accumulated Karmas. 'Nuff for today.

Manatita, Nothing you've said has ever upset me, my brother. My bhaiya ji is known for always telling the truth. His words, like his heart, are pure and beautiful. I really like what you're saying. All of these sufferings, I agree, are a part of the process... the soul's unfolding nature. Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom and spreading light. Much Love, Bro

This is a very interesting article, Misbah. I enjoyed reading and quotes too. I agree love is much more beyond infatuation. Accepting one with his flaws and qualities is real love. Thanks for sharing this beautiful hub.

Blessings to you, dear sister.

manatita44 from london on June 30, 2021:

Your Bhaia ji is sometimes stern and doesn't always say what one expects.

You use the word 'fate' once. Pretty spot on! This universe is governed by Laws and human love is not such a bad thing. No need to call it crazy or deranged, as it is part of the process ... the unfolding nature of the soul.

Again, human love is not separate from the higher Love which governs the universe. We will not and cannot jump from A to Z. Human evolution is in motion and mostly, we are where we are meant to be. Nothing is haphazard, as all follows the Will of the Higher Law (Love or God)

All challenges or struggles are simply a part of the process, for it is necessary for the growth of the soul. Love you, my Didi ji. Lovely article! Salaam!
