I'm Just a Man

Kui Mutua is an online writer whose mantra has always been, I'm not perfect but stories are a little better with a hint of imperfection

As a Kid, I used to crave for the day I would grow up, the world at my feet, and the million opportunities just waiting for me.

Then I grew up.

And it is literally nothing like I imagined it would be.

Now that I am grown and I have been exposed to a few more things I just have one craving, I crave to be a man.

If I was a man........

If I was a man........

Society has been tailored in a way that rules that apply for men and for women are different. For example men are allowed to explore, to play the field before finding someone to commit to, and that is okay for them to do, but if a woman does the same....

Well I think there is a word for that and it rhymes with bow.

I think men are carefully taught how not to recognize male privilege

I'm just so sick of running the extra mile, working twice as hard wondering if I will get there quicker if I was a man. I want to talk about my accomplishments, and not to see the questioning look on people who are wondering how much of everything I have, do I deserve. Because when a man flashes his dollars his rich, a role model, someone to look up to. When a female flashes her dollars, she is tone deaf, probably a sugar babe and is just seeking attention.

I'm so sick of running as fast as I can wondering if I would get there quicker if I was man.

To the men, how is it like to have your business ideas be separated from what you are wearing. To not go through every presentation being told, "you should smile more, it makes you seem more likable"

" You should do this, maybe you will get that promotion."

If I was a man, every conquest I had would make me an alpha, I would go out with my friends at night not be labeled as an easy target, I would make almost twice as much as I'm making doing the same thing as I am doing now , everyone would believe every word I say, and I would get away with almost anything well because I'm just a man.

@Abel, and drones that deliver food,

Definitely, abolishing stereotypes would definitely elate peace, loving everyone despite race, gender, or religion is what should be both preached and practiced

When i dream of my perfect world its always about a world filled with trees and flying cars. A beautiful open tree house at the side of the waterfall as my home. But now i think i should be dreaming of a world without stereotypical behavior that assumes peoples places based on their gender, race or even religion. That seems like a more peaceful and beautiful planet to live in.

Awesome article Kui ,i love the way you've detailed the heading itself, and the whole point. Keep it up ,it's so worth reading.

Please note.

This article's intention is not to show how one gender (females) have constantly been victimized by another (males) but instead seeks out to expose male privilege.
