Beach Theme Decorations are Fun to Create!

Wrap Raffia ribbon around a candle, place it on a glass dish filled with sand, place shells in the sand and a star fish in front of the candle! Bridal theme table scatter adds a nice, sparkly touch.

My daughter's Bridal Shower was celebrated in February. It was a Beach Theme shower held during winter in Wisconsin! You can imagine how exciting it was to transform Matty's Bar and Grill with sand, shells, beachy decorations and tableware! The decorations were lots of fun to create and shop for. Everyone arrived in winter coats but warmed up quickly once inside!

You will need some packaged sand (unless it's warm and you have access to a beach!), shells and star fish, flowers, wine glasses, candles, glass platters, Raffia ribbon or rope, tablecloths and napkins and table scatter (also known as confetti:) I suggest a few Bridal Shower games and how to present them, a party favor and other decorations that I shopped for! What's cool is that many of the shells used for decorating were found during a walk along the beach on an earlier visit to Marco Island.

My daughter Colleen and her fiancée Steven are now Mr. and Mrs.!! They were recently married in Marco Island, Florida! It was a beautiful celebration of love with family and friends on a gorgeous beach just before a magnificent sunset that served as the backdrop for their first dance!

We returned to a Wisconsin Spring that feels more like Winter. No more sand and surf. Not a palm tree in sight! I now have the time to share our Beach Theme Bridal Shower.

Bridal Shower Games

  • "Guess the Bride's Age"

Collect pictures of the Bride at various ages. Amber, my daughter-in-law offered to put it all together and it turned out beautifully! She hung the pictures on wires in a frame and clipped a number written on a turquoise heart to each photo. Amber then made sheets for each guest to write down their guess for each picture. After all the sheets were complete we checked off the correct number of guesses for each guest and gave the top two a Starbucks gift card.

  • "How Many Kisses for the Soon-to-be Mrs.?"

Fill a jar with Hershey Kisses and have sheets of paper for each guest to write down a guess. The guest with the closest guess received a Starbucks gift card.

  • "How Well Do the Bride and Groom Know each Other?"

The Groom was asked a number of questions. His answers were given to the Maid of Honor, my daughter Nicole. At the Bridal shower Colleen was asked the same questions to see how well her and the groom know each other. As you might guess, they know each other very well!

The guests could make their guesses for the first two games as the shower progressed. For the questions game Colleen and her Maid of Honor sat in the middle of the room so everyone could hear the questions, her answers and those provided by her fiancée.

How Many Kisses for the Soon-to-Be Mrs.?

Make sure you count the kisses! Kisses come in many colors so it's easy to carry on the color scheme. Have a jar for the guests to place their guesses and plenty of pens! Notice the framed "name of the game" sitting on sand and shells

Beach Theme Party Favor

A small candle holder with shells secured in gel and a tea candle on top made a very nice party favor. No, I didn't make the party favors!
