A New Super Bug Worse Then AIDS Kills Within Days

Respect yourself enough to protect yourself

Gonorrhea At It's Worst

A new super bug is plaguing the earth. A form of gonorrhea that has no known cure. The first case was found in China in 2008 but recent studies have shown that the virus is spreading like wild fire and killing people within days of being infected.

So much for us worrying about HIV and AIDS. I could never understand single people sleeping around and not using protection but it is more common then people think. Single women are known to have up to six sexual partners and have shown no fear of contracting the HIV virus.

This new form of Gonorrhea has been tested with every antibiotic and has failed each time to be treatable.

Emergent Crisis

With this new super form of gonorrhea entering the United States, the CDC is doing everything possible to find a cure for this terrible sexually transmitted disease. Because it resists current antibiotic treatment, the strain has been placed in the superbug category with other resistant bacteria, such as MRSA and CRE. These superbugs kill about half the people they attack, and nearly one in 20 hospital patients become infected with one, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (CDC 2014)

Gonorrhea is the second most commonly reported infectious disease in the United States. In 2011, more than 300,000 cases of gonorrhea were reported. That number has doubled since 2011.

Why are people taking risks by having unprotected sex? Everyone needs to protect themselves if you are not in a monogamous relationship. Even then it is reported that frequently married men and women carry on affairs and do not use protection. When the AIDS epidemic appeared in the late 80's, most women were getting it from blood transfusions. Today more heterosexual couples are contracting STD's and the age groups are 16 to 25 and 60 to 80.

Instead of teaching abstinence in schools they need to be teaching children safe sex. Parents need to be teaching their children about the consequences of having sex without protection.

Wear a condom correctly, think about abstinence, practice monogamy, and get appropriate screening if you’re high risk. Left untreated, STIs can wreck havoc on the reproductive organs, causing severe medical problems and affecting the ability to have children later in life.

News On the Super Bug

Not Taking Precautions

Each year 23,000 people die from these super bugs. These bugs have become resistant from doctors prescribing so many antibiotics, people not finishing their treatment and then the strain of bugs comes back bigger and better each time. Every time you get a cold and want antibiotics for a virus, you are putting your self at risk for acquiring a bacteria that can not be treated with antibiotics.

Once your body has become resistant to antibiotics, there is nothing left to treat you with.

The United States is not alone in raising the alarm over antibiotic drug resistance. Last March the chief medical officer for England said antibiotic resistance poses a "catastrophic health threat". That followed a report last year from the World Health Organization that found a "superbug" strain of gonorrhea had spread to several European countries. (The Daily News 2014)

The only way to stop this new form of gonorrhea is to either use protection which does not guarantee freedom from the disease or abstinence. If you are single and not using protection you are playing Russian roulette with your life. Although HIV and AIDS are not heard on the news any longer, they are still very much alive and spreading at a high rate of speed. You have to take precautions if you are single and that is all there is to it.

Are You Prepared For the Consequences?

The consequences of one night stands today is not a simple shot of penicillin and it will make it all better. The consequences of one night stands today are equivalent to death. Is it worth it?

An estimated 1 in 4 adults is carrying an STD and 1 in 7 are HIV positive. If you think that this is a joke think again. The prettiest girl on the street can be your worst nightmare. Stop playing with your life and use protection. It's not worth losing your life for a moment of pleasure.

Some 820,000 cases of gonorrhea are reported in the U.S. every year, making it the second most reported communicable disease behind another sexual disease, chlamydia. According to the CDC, an estimated 246,000 of those gonorrhea cases are of the drug-resistant strain.
