The Rumble in Philly: Presidential Debate 2024 - Trump v. Harris an Overview

My first reactions to the Presidential Debate, the big Rumble in Philly… were via text messages to my husband. At the time, he was working out of town and it was probably borderline harassment by the fourth text, but he knows how I get!
I didn't appreciate the fact, that the hosts/moderators served up softballs for Harris, setting her up to knock it out of the park. She didn't hit it out of the park, but they definitely had her sitting pretty for it, so to speak.
That’s as good as it is going to get, as far as any compliments for Kamala Harris' corner...
They made her look good!
All while she was enjoying the soft serve ...Trump was mocked, corrected (aka fact-checked) scolded, interrupted...
Harris' many lies --- formerly, Biden's lies, passed on, as a torch, to his replacement. Thrown out there for another season of --- see if it will stick! Put out there once more, to see if they might have a little more traction left in them….
No matter how many times they’ve been corrected, disputed, fact-checked….. even by many left-leaning publications.
But, that’s never deterred this team before, they know that some will buy the lies - hook, line and sinker, no matter what. They count on it.
So the lies are left to lie, unchecked and unchallenged by the moderators. They who were, otherwise, Johnny-on-the-spot, with a slap of the hand and a mean mug stare down. But those were reserved exclusively, for Trump!
The Charlottesville lie, the January 6 lie, the insulting of the military lie, the Project 2025 lie, the abortion lie…….
Tell Me Lies
And In This Corner Mr. Consistency
I had a compliment for Kamala earlier and I have no problem in stating and sharing that I do have one criticism of Trump.
He allowed her and, really, the three of them, to get under his skin and that caused him to get out of a rhythm. He has the right message, the real plans, the consistency, the crowds and everything going for him —she does not!
He should have let it go in order to stay focused and on point!
With all that being said, it didn’t cost him and it didn’t hurt him —- not in my opinion.
Trump's corner remained consistent and genuine throughout, while Harris' came off as rehearsed.
One of my posts, shared on social media (when I wasn’t harassing my hubby, via text) was that she came off [to me] as if she was trying out for a part, rather than a position — a starring role in a Play, rather than opening up and showing us her true self, who she really is, as she seeks our votes for the highest office in the land!
I don’t think that it scored her any points or did her any favors with the independent and undecided voters. In particular, women, especially when one factors in, what she did show us - a mean girl!
I was disgusted by her mean girl smirks, her faux laughter, and her condescending striking-of-a-mean girl pose!
Is The Fix Already In?
I pray the fix isn't already in, again!! But after 2020, knowing what we know now and how so much of it has been ignored, or covered up, or turned on those of us who have attempted to call it out, I don’t feel confident in saying, that integrity will make a mighty return. That doesn’t mean that I - that we- give up on integrity in our elections!
But the Biden-Harris team is currently in charge, the deep state, the D.C. swamp, whom have endlessly worked against Trump, not against but rather with, Biden-Harris, aren’t about to let up now!
We don’t have to contend with Covid protocol….. not at this moment in time, at least, but we do still have to contend with the insiders, the haters of Trump.
While I am on the subject -
One other thing noted about the debate and the questions which were chosen, the subjects which were selected, and those which were not.
The glaringly obvious one, I would think, and hope that I'm not the only one who noticed ---
an attempt was made on the life of former President Trump, and that was never mentioned!
I can't help but believe that if it had been Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, that would not have happened, it would not have been ignored.
I have a sense of such a disconnect, that cannot be made to come together. Athough a hate-filled individual attempted to kill our President, yes former, but a President of the United States, nevertheless. In a normal world, in a past world, this would have brought us together as one Nation. No matter party affiliation, association, no matter agendas, none of that would have mattered!
Is this something we can get past? We have a lot of work to do!
We must be on guard and ever-vigilant if we are to, in fact, make America great once again!
I hope they"ll debate once more, before all is said and done.
