Joe Biden Showed up for the Debate, but He Didn't Show up for His Campaign

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

The final debate

The final debate

Making an Appearance

Mr. Biden made a rare appearance, he showed up for the second and final debate, of the 2020 Presidential Campaign season.

He had apparently been resting up, practicing, clearing his head...maybe all of the aforementioned, who knows but Joe.

Whatever the case, he was never out and about!

He never robustly campaigned, his campaigning was lethargic and mild, at best!

In the meantime, Donald Trump was flying the friendly skies, tearing up the turf, blowing up the bleachers, drawing huge crowds...wherever he went.

There was no downtime with him and I highly suspected that even when he was recovering from the horrible virus, China's most unwelcome 'gift', he was chomping at the bit in wanting to get back on the campaign trail and out among the people!

As for Joe, although to date, he has thus far avoided the wicked virus, he remained hidden away, participating in downtime, as if he had fallen victim to it
or something else...

One thing was crystal clear, while the President was out among the people, Joe Biden was not!

Dare I say...he avoided the people, as if avoiding a plague?

Was he intimidated by the crowds the President was drawing?

Did he truly fear the virus or was it more of a fear of rejection?

What kept him in hiding throughout much of the campaign?

Did Joe know something we didn't know, because from all the polls and all the interviews, articles examined, multiple chats and discussions with many people, etc., all things pointed to this being a very close race.

Personally, I don’t think it was ever close.

I believed Trump would get his second term...but the chatter sought to keep me and everyone else...skeptical!

Back to the race...or any race for that matter -

Whether it’s baseball, a horse race or an election, you start strong and you don't let up, you certainly don’t slow up, when rounding the final turn!

You never give up on the play.

Scroll to Continue

You run through the base, you don't stop short.

Are these all antiquated thoughts/analogies in 2020?

Because I've also recently heard the United States of America described as a "failed idea" by the Biden Administration!

Maybe I'm the one not keeping up, because I am so offended by that. I would hope that the majority of Americans would be as well.

I don’t believe in giving up on the play and I will never give up on this Country!

Debate Time

I was really looking forward to the debate, I am a junkie for this stuff.

In particular, to see how it would go with the introduction of the mute button.

I wanted to see some sparring, but not to the point where important issues would fall victim.

Most curious about Joe Biden; how would he perform, especially with all of the recent news which had come out about his involvement in his son’s dealings in Ukraine and China.

After watching the two televised Town Halls previously, it couldn’t have been any more clear, when it comes to mainstream media and their handling of the two Presidential candidates, Joe Biden got the royal treatment, while Donald Trump got the shaft.
How would debate night go.....

Fast forward -

I watched the debate and first thing noted, I liked the Moderator more than Moderators past.
She managed to keep control, while allowing them to banter a bit.

I felt as if she was quicker to cut off the President, but the President did so well throughout, that it became a minimal thing and was forgotten.

President Trump was composed and Joe Biden seemed to carefully measure his thoughts and words, only getting flustered toward the end.

We learned that the President wishes us to be open; everybody back to work, all kids back in, as having a part in, school....not to school....virtually. A return to normalcy!

We learned that Candidate Biden wants us all in masks...all of the time and shut down indefinitely.

Joe Biden wants us to move away from the energy independence that we finally have here in the States, made possible through a pro-America Trump Administration, which leaves us completely self-sufficient!

We have the mother lode in natural gas, oil and coal, it provides for Americans, while providing jobs and endless opportunities!

Joe Biden would have us going deeper and deeper into debt, in order to take a gamble on other alternatives...something else...gambling with people’s livelihoods, in the process.

Joe Biden doubled down on his denials of profiting off of Hunter’s dealings with Ukraine and Communist China.

We shall see where that goes...

Final Thoughts

My final thoughts.

President Donald Trump truly understands what is at stake for American families, if we can’t all get back to normal very soon.

His concern is genuine and his manner is nothing but...Presidential!

Joe Biden, on the other hand, would unapologetically keep us in limbo, indefinitely, locked down and at the mercy of China and the Chinese virus.

Nothing about his inaction, is reassuring or gives any measure of hope!

There’s nothing Presidential about his dismissiveness of what a future for us, in lock down, looks like.

Biden never stops sounding like what he is, a career politician. He can't defend his lack of never being able to get anything done over many decades, what is he going to say?

The President pressed him on it in an impressive, non-bullying manner and made his case against the career politician, card-carrying member of the D.C. establishment, Joe Biden.

As far as I am concerned...The President made the case for his re-election!

You’ve heard me out, thank you, now it’s your turn

Sorry friends, I had to remove several comments in order to get this re-published. It had been taken down by HP.

I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read my articles and especially those who take enough of an interest, to comment.

I realize that not all comments will be in agreement with me and I always welcome them as well!

I, personally, believe that if we are left to talk things through, we may not always come to an agreement, but we can, at least, depart with an understanding that we can make another attempt, another day.....and perhaps work toward understanding one another much better.

Hi T, I missed both interviews on 60 Minutes, but from what I've seen from segments here and there, per usual, Trump is pummeled and Biden is treated like glass.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 26, 2020:

I doubt he can see it Shannon. That would mean he would have to step back and look at the big picture. He honed in a two words that he thinks do not belong together, wishing to make it about something other than what it is. TRUTH! They are joined at the hip, whether Joc Valeant likes it or not.

In other words, it is what it is!

Sometimes, it's not what a person says but how it's said. No one makes a statement like that without trying to provoke someone else somehow. Unless maybe it is said in extreme disappointment, but surely you don't know Angie well enough to be that disappointed. You clearly want to provoke her into changing her way of thinking. Probably wouldn't get you anywhere at this point, but you might try different tactics next time. Goodnight.

Shannon Henry from Texas on October 25, 2020:

Well, all I have left to say on the matter is that no one ever got me to change my mind about anything they were as passionate about as you appear to be about whether or not the term "Chinese virus" is acceptable or not by insulting me. When I first said that neither you nor Angie seemed to be disrespecting one another, I missed that statement from you.

Shannon Henry from Texas on October 25, 2020:

Ok. Wow. Promoting racism? That's a bit far-fetched, don't ya think JOC? I know Angie to be passionate about the things that matter to her, but also very kind. Actually, I understand her point about reacting the way she did when someone says "I thought you were better than that."

T on October 25, 2020:

Of course Koc’s only reply is to use innuendo to detract from my factual observations of him. Par for the course!

Just watched 60 minutes interview of Biden. They had to interject into the interview corrections to his lies. Get this, when asked why he thinks Kamala Harris could take over the presidency if she had to Biden’s answer was “She’s smart as the devil!” LOL great analogy!

Is that a Biden gaffe or is he just being honest? LOL

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 25, 2020:

I am not waiting around for an apology from you, I didn't really expect it. Not surprised, nor am I surprised that you have taken it even further by accusing me of "promoting racism."

Even so, I do not wish the Chinese virus on you.

Be well Joc Valeant.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 25, 2020:

Hi Shannon,

Thanks for stopping by, for your input and added information on the Spanish flu which may or may not have originated in Spain.....

I can't remember the last time JOC commented on one of my articles and when he does.....the first words out of his mouth...make that mind are, "Can't believe you openly bought into the 'Chinese virus' racism moniker - I thought you were better than that. I guess you don't have many Asian-American friends or you wouldn't even consider spewing that kind of garbage."

Yeah...I must respond to that, can't let it lie, not made that way. In fact, I think an apology is in order.

Shannon Henry from Texas on October 25, 2020:

So...I looked it up because I've heard claims of the Spanish Flu starting in Kansas as well. There is no conclusive answer as to the origins of the Spanish Flu. And if it originated in North America somewhere, someone found evidence that it was likely not Kansas since the strains analyzed from there were not as severe as other places like New York.

That said, the name comes from where people (perhaps erroneously) believed was the origin of the virus. Same as calling this current pandemic the Chinese virus. I fail to see how that is racist. How many other things do we humans refer to according to their origins? I have not heard a single person, even those that blame China for this thing spreading worldwide.

Not that you asked for my opinion on the back and forth between you and JOC, but I think maybe you're both just a little on edge and being defensive. Reading objectively, I don't see where either one of you is attempting to offend the other by anything that you've said. You're both just stating your opinions and I don't really feel like there's any disrespect happening between the two of you. Politics will tend to put people on edge and make them more defensive than they maybe normally are. Especially since so many people out there are intentionally insulting others.

At least the consensus seems to be that we all enjoy your writing, Angie. :)

Shannon Henry from Texas on October 25, 2020:

I'm guilty of not watching the debate, so I can't say for sure who I think won it. But based on the ideals of the two very different candidates, I'd say Trump won. As for squabbling and bad behavior, I can't say if that affected the outcome or not. Maybe they did better in that regard this time because I saw less chatter about it all over social media. Of course, I've been avoiding that as well. Too many people out there who like to stir the pot just for the sake of getting people all riled up. I'm not in the mood to participate in any of that. Plus, I already voted. Now I just wait to see the final outcome once the rest of the nation has voted. I'm thinking Trump will get reelected.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 25, 2020:

I haven't had a chance to delve into it yet, but I am hearing about; Hunter Biden, sex tapes, China, blackmail......uh oh!!!

I guess this means that MSM will be doubling {tripling} down in promoting Trump's disgruntled niece's book, blaming Chinese virus deaths on Trump, questioning how much Trump has paid {or hasn't paid} in taxes. Calling him uncaring, unfeeling, insensitive, etc. etc.

Deflect, deflect, deflect.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 24, 2020:

No thanks Valeant, I will leave the "adhering to world guidelines" to you. Knock yourself out.

Hey T... haven't we had this conversation about Joc (Valeant) before?

Thanks for sharing the video Kayode!

Perfect timing!

I am such a fan of Candace Owens.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 24, 2020:

So did you visit this article in order to call me racist, more than once?

I hope it makes you feel better about yourself.

I don't care, in the least, what you may think about me....only what God knows about me.

Take care!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 24, 2020:

China doesn't get a pass on this. Why did they cut off travel within their Country, but not internationally?

When you can take a break from finding offense around every corner...perhaps you can research Wuhan labs and China's negligence. Meantime, (when I am no longer at hunt camp) I will be research the 'Kansas flu'.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 24, 2020:

What if we did refer to it as the American flu? So what?

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 24, 2020:

Long time no talk Valeant and then it's only to call me out, call me "racist".

This virus originated in China, just like the Spanish flu originated in.....well you know!?!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on October 23, 2020:

Good Morning Eric,

I think he appeared to be reviewing notes so as not to make eye contact with Hunter's former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, the man who has the goods on the Biden family!

Mr. Bobulinski's statement before the debate, "Tomorrow I will be meeting with the Senate committee members concerning this matter." {matter meaning:The Biden family business dealings and influence peddling in foreign lands, while Biden was V.P.} "I will be providing to the FBI the devices which contain the evidence corroborating what I have said."

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on October 23, 2020:

Maybe it is normal deal but Biden sure reviewed his notes rather than listening. And then read them in response. How can you know where the otherside is going beforehand. Just of interest.
