In modern history, we are witnessing things that are unprecedented by historical standards. With this comes a new wave of workers.
The beginning of our current world
Today, we're going to take a glimpse into a new movement. This movement is a pivotal moment economically speaking.
During the year 2020, things took a rather sharp turn. We go from living our "normal" lives to all of a sudden, someone pulled the plug.
It was tantamount to a person turning the light switch down.
Our world, as we knew it, came to a screeching halt.
This sent an aftershock throughout the entire world as we watched in disbelief the talking heads on air.
From there, it was a domino effect like we'd never seen transpire before.
It was during the period from March 2020 to, I'd say, June of 2021 that the term "essential heroes" was waning.
At the beginning of the outbreak, I was gainfully employed. I was working at a hospital to which I have devoted my youth for 20 years.
During my trial, I had witnessed anthrax, the west-Nile virus, ebola, zika, SARS, H1N1, bird flu, the financial crises in 08', and now C-19.
The way the narrative materialized, I knew there were going to be some major changes ahead.
The hospital that I was working for was the quietest that I have ever seen.
We sustained a very low census throughout the house, so much that they were shutting down departments.
I couldn't believe my eyes! I was utterly flabbergasted that folks were sent home including my department which was psychiatry.
Now, how these nurses and techs were compensated I have no clue for the hospital reduced my role to a screener for a couple of months.
For every person that entered I had to check their temps.
Our bosses couldn't thank us enough for the ones that showed up and proved that we weren't apprehensive about the virus.
The overtime was ridiculous too!
Essential heroes we were. But, what about the people working from home? Or, the ones that don't have an assignment?
No matter how hard you worked, it wasn't enough.
It is similar to pumping gas into a fuel tank that has an existing soda can-sized hole on the bottom.
The morale changed, we felt expendable entering into the year 2021.
It was during the winter months that the organization had a different tone towards the staff.
The departments that were once shut down are now open and fully functioning with a scant staffing matrix.
Remote workers were able to make a return as well.
But, the issue remains, how do we work with such little help? What happened?
To fill the void, you take the willing and burn them out, then turn around and make it mandatory for nurses to remain when short.
This isn't therapeutic. Can you imagine the mental burnout that we had to endure?
The census was also gaining traction towards the month of July. Triage was PACKED!
In July, the corporation declared that we all take the shot for employment.
Personally, I had a decision to make. I already had my mind made up but it would be life-changing for me.
Devoting 20 years of service to anything is a commitment.
Fast forward to September, I was terminated on the thirtieth of that month after serving the community for years.
It was bitter-sweet, but it was time for me to move on.
Now, imagine how many of us are out there? I am sure I wasn't the only one that sacrificed himself from the matrix.
This is part of the great resignation that is hardly discussed in the open.
The fact is, this takes a percentage of the great resignation numbers if you think about it.
We really didn't have much of a choice and I wasn't nor am I the one to be coerced by no one.
I don't care who you are.
What I say goes and there are many out there that can concur with what I am saying here.
What is the great resignation?
Now, this right here is the interesting part.
The information I just mechanically transcribed above is one hundred percent actual and factual.
Can you imagine how the labor force is now with inflation? People are getting laid off at big corporations like Disney, Tesla, and Netflix to name a few.
This is, again, unprecedented.
With fuel prices, EMS can't serve their respected communities due to diesel prices. Truckers are facing similar issues.
Police can't respond to calls due to fuel prices. They'll arrive at your destination only if it is indeed dire.
Another part of the pie is consumed by these events here.
People are fed up too. Working long hours, living pay check to pay check is taking its toll on the collective mind as a whole.
Mental burnout is at an all-time high.
The masses have had enough and their answer is "quitting" and this right here hurts their employers.
A lot of people are doing their own thing these days including making money online.
Or, becoming an entrepreneur making a website or making YouTube content.
There is only so much we can take. You work so hard only to be broke at your Just Over Broke place of occupation.
I'll tell you what, time can't be replaced but money can.
During my absence from the matrix, I have learned just how valuable time truly is.
I don't want to sound morbid or like a Debby downer but this is real.
Do what you have to do to survive.
But, do not kill yourself in the process. With technology these days, there is a multitude of ways to become financially stable.
Building an online reputation or "authority" can help you with becoming financially free.
Having multiple streams of income is attainable today.
A regular 9-5 is like having a table with one leg, when that one breaks there are no other legs to support it.
You can do anything you put your mind to. I know I have. With consistency, you can achieve anything.
