We are Women, We are Brave

Have You Ever Experienced Sexism?

Bravery. Where should I even start to begin with?

So, when I was about 11 years-old, an age where unexpected blunders were starting to occur—I was shocked to find myself surfing the crimson waves, in other words, I was gradually becoming a ‘woman’. During that time, I composed to an awfully stimulated version of myself—I was humiliated by my apparently developed chest. Boys in my class were dedicating their impertinent words against me as an illusive joke; not only did my classmates ridicule me, but also there were the aggression subject matters that were distributed from my relatives. They’re responsible for pointing out the so called ‘defects’ of my plump figure. Yet, the blossomed flower still couldn’t strive against those hostile tramples, she’s scared, as well as being concerned. I remained silent. The scuffles between my thoughts were blended into a corroded smoke of bravery. I didn’t stand out for myself, check; I pondered about converting myself because of some dumb abusive comments, check.

Bravery. Sure. Let’s start off from the female’s perspective, shall we?

My Body, My Rights

Before we get started, please allow me to ask you a question: As a woman, do you often feel embarrassed of yourself? Like, do you shave your armpits in the summer? Do you feel awkward when you’re using the public toilets? Would people make fun of you for not doing so? When everybody says it’s embarrassing, things that were not awkward become awkward. I know that some people would say: girls who don’t shave look like men; or she’s having a period, how disgusting is that; or even things like, girls shouldn’t run/exercise since their boobs wobble along the way…

Moreover, do people criticize your dressing styles? If girls were dressed up in shorts, skirts, as well as not wearing a bra, who may I ask did she offend? A very practical example, when my family and I were camping by the lake, the woman who camped next to us was often dressed up sexily, and the delicacy she provided was fully replenished. Additionally, my mum would observe the fact of her vivid form and say that the lady was the most distinctive figure of a prostitute she’s ever seen.

In the opinions of others, is it really that forbidden for women to shuttle through clothes that are sexy and open? Why can’t we dress to please ourselves? Does by gossiping to others fulfill the imaginative thoughts of associates with men? To be honest, how pathetic does this irony have to be? The constant malice and prejudice against us girls pervade the whole society—whether we have gaps between our thighs, or wear short skirts; likewise, even eating a banana in nowadays is becoming more and more constrained for girls. For heaven’s sake, why can’t people just be more respectful to women? If you wish for a compelling reason, here’s what: girls mostly emphasize the comfortability and loveliness of dressing up, there is no sexual attraction matter interfered; girls who have wide gaps between their thighs are mostly because of how thin their bodies are; girls who have a tendency for eating bananas are often attracted by its taste; and lastly, the girls who drive in luxury are specified as strong independent women, who have the ability to make money their selves. Envelop shame, develop entertain. All I see is neglected disgust, veiled behind the face of morality.

When A Woman Rises, We All Rise

In the book called ‘Orlando’, she wrote: Although we are poor and ignorant compared to men, and although they are armed with shields and we’re shackled by the recipience of education, men still turn out to fall off the pole due to the slipped glance of our ankles.

Right here, I want to inspire women to be braver via this article. When we encounter ridiculous comments, we stand up for ourselves and shut their scornful mouths up; in reality, we remain confident and always remember to love yourself no matter what. Don’t criticize us with your biased opinions, girls can be anything they wish to be, there is literally no standard of what beauty should be like, therefore, only we can define who we are.

So come on, call out with me!

I have all the desires, rebellions, and strengths that others think I shouldn’t have.
