Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!
Compare and Contrast
What a contrast between the bits and pieces I've viewed of the return of the NFL and the viewing and remembrance of, true heroes in the 9-11 tribute.
I do not watch sports any longer.
I suppose I am one who has been conquered.
Divided from something important to me, a diehard sports fan all of my life.
One who has been constantly worked on for the past few years, as our enemies continue to use the very things, which have always united us; such as our love of Country, our Patriotism and our love of sports, to divide us!
- As I've given sports one more chance
- As I've stepped back and observed, taking it all in, wondering what am I missing
- As I've attempted to keep an open mind
I've finally thrown in the towel, for I now know the truth!
I do realize that not all sports figures are allowing themselves to be used, but where are their voices. Why don't they speak out against the politicization of sports? There never seems to be just one, willing to separate themselves from the pack.
Compare and contrast, a locker room full of men, athletes avoiding our National Anthem, as if they suddenly do not know what to do or how to respond to the playing of 'The Star-Spangled Banner', to the images of real heroes, unselfishly rushing into smoke and fire, toxins and falling debris, in hopes that they might save, just one more!
Compare and contrast, sports figures, in their team uniforms, hiding out, raising a fist, taking a knee...for reasons they're never able to explain or articulate, to the image of a firefighter, in his uniform, stuck in traffic, leaving the vehicle, sprinting in full gear and straight into the danger zone, no doubt, it would have taken an entire football team...to stop him!
Compare and contrast the great coming together that horrible day brought us to as a Nation and as a world, to the division of today, as some individuals are being brainwashed and groomed by the haters of America, to hate as they do:
- Whether it is the belief that it's a small and insignificant thing to turn one's back on America, before a game, in one's chosen sport
- Whether it is taken even further, as businesses are looted and burned, as good people (many elderly) are verbally and physically abused
- Whether it is taking their manufactured rage much, much too far and it has resulted in the taking of innocent lives
Those with blood on their hands, I ask, are they any less despicable than those terrorists who hijacked planes and flew them into the World Trade Center Towers?
They too have allowed themselves to be used!
Have they been convinced by the haters of America or have they convinced themselves, that all is fair in this game...and they too, see themselves as martyrs?
Compare and contrast them and those men who flew airplanes into the Pentagon building and into a field in Pennsylvania, to the true heroes who stopped that fourth plane, giving up their lives, rushing in, in order to keep terrorists from flying yet one more airplane into yet another...American institution.
We Must Find Our Way Back...
It was heartwarming to see Frank Siller, whose firefighter brother, Stephen, was one of the heroes who rushed in that fateful day, never to be seen or heard from again, take charge and make sure that the 9-11 tribute happened.
Most Americans understand that the reading of all of the names had to take place, as the City of New York, failed to take the initiative, Frank Siller stepped up.
He, like his brother, is a true American patriot and a hero.
New York politicians are too caught up in petty politics, power trips and destructive tactics to understand or comprehend the importance of this tribute and why it needs to always take place.
They've lost their way, when even this was made political!
We may not have the opportunity to save lives, as others do on a daily basis.
We may not be put in the position to step up and do the right thing, as others, no doubt have done, when witnessing criminal behavior. Crimes which are happening too often here of late; businesses being looted, ransacked, set ablaze, diners being harassed and threatened, senior citizens being verbally and physically abused, but we do have a voice!
We can certainly utilize that voice and use our words to make a real difference, in the things which truly matter...
After that horrific September day, 9-11-2001, the sun came out once more, shining its light on a brand new day, 9-12-2001, and so began the healing of a Nation, a coming together, as never before, a great turning back to God!
We reached out to one another, we loved one another, we forgave and were forgiven, we stood together as proud Americans, battered, but determined to keep going.
We must find our way back!
God Bless America, land that I love....

My prayers are with these Officers and with my broken Country!
