Despite guidelines in its published rules of behavior against threats against fellow Twitter users, a London group associating itself with the US group #RefuseFascism, which is one of billionaire George Soro's funding projects under the Tide Foundation, has posted a veiled threat against the popular commentator and journalist Paul Joseph Watson. Watson has ruffled feathers suggesting that 9/11 was plotted by a cabal within the US government and other dissenting views of history and current events.

In actions in various cities last weekend, on the occasion of President Donald Trump's visit to UK, #RefuseFascism, also known as "Antifa" for "Anti-fascism," marched promoting its brand of social protest, which openly includes setting trash can fires and destruction of property. In Arizona a contingent of Antifa marched on the capital with many members brandishing assault rifles.

In a tweet today the London group wrote:

APPEAL: If you have any information on alt-right conspiracy theorist Paul Joseph Watson (@PrisonPlanet), please slide into our DMs.

"DM" is a direct, private message to the account holder. The tweet posts Watson's photograph in the style of a "wanted" poster.

The broad, loose organization #RefuseFascism paints the Trump administration as a dire fascist threat which would employ violence, which in turn may justify some violence in return.

In February the online news site The Daily Caller unearthed the financial backing of a US-registered charity, The Alliance for Global Justice, based in Tucson, Arizona, which is a sponsor of Refuse Fascism. The news site found through official tax filings that one of the Alliance's biggest contributors was the Tides Foundation, a well-known non-profit owned by George Soros. Other contributors to the Alliance are United Steel Workers, and Ben and Jerry's.

Twitter has a clear policy of disallowing its service to convey personal threats to users. In 2015 California based blogger Charles Johnson was banned for soliciting donations to "take out" a Black Lives Matter organizer.

In February, after forcing the UC Berkeley administration to shut down the appearance of controversial right-wing author and speaker Milo Yiannopoulos, an openly gay provocateur of progressive, liberal, and left-leaning causes, issued a statement which seemed to target what the mainstream media has called "conspiracy theories."

One of these theories is that 9/11 was a plot by elements high in the US government to provide the casus belli for war against Iraq and the current heavy US military involvement in the Middle East. In 2016 Rasmussen polling found that a large segment of Americans want the government to tell all it knows about 9/11, and to declassify all documents.

Straying far beyond opposition to political "fascist" ideology, the Soros-backed group attacked a "society-wide fascist assault on critical thinking, science, the ability to discover basic truths about objective reality."

The language used in the statement precisely mirrors what dissidents to official findings on events such as 9/11 say about the government's narrative: that it flies in the face of critical thinking, science, and truth. So far the best-received film documentary representing dissidents' views on 9/11 is Italian filmmaker Massimo Mazzucco's "New Pearl Harbor."

In the Refuse Fascism statement, entitled "Three Points," declared:

"The Trump/Pence regime is relentlessly lying, muzzling government agencies, threatening the media, and firing or threatening government officials who stand up to them."

Little is said about the fact that the same can be said of almost any other administration in recent history, including Obama's persecution of a record number of whistleblowers.

Paul Joseph Watson is affiliated with radio talk show host Alex Jones. Jones occupies an unusual niche in the news world, delivering views which many 9/11 dissidents suspect are part of the 9/11 cover-up, mixing truth with falsehood and outrageous behavior which ultimately serves as a red herring, to distract attention from more serious discussion. The direct attack on Watson has made many on both the left and the right suspect that the organization is being used by elites to target dissidents by associating them with Trump, and lumping them in with the "alt-right.".
