Via ‘The Reproductive Health Equity Act of 2017’, Oregon Became the Most Pro-Abortion State, as the Murder Rate Went Up

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

Governor of Oregon, Kate Brown (D)

Governor of Oregon, Kate Brown (D)

Progressive Objective: End all restrictions on abortion

Some things are just too depressing to bring up in conversation, much less write an entire article about.

However, that does not mean that these subjects shouldn't be written about or discussed and they most definitely shouldn't be completely ignored or off-limits!

It is so easy for some 'News' to get lost and fall through the cracks, with all of the competition and all of the dueling which takes place, in order to get the big headline of the day or, at the very least, into the Headlines of the day.

~~~
In case you missed it, within all of the clutter that is 'The News', here is the essence of this particular news:
Oregon's Law Makers, felt as if it wasn’t enough to be among those with the most liberal abortion laws in America...oh no, they wanted more, they dreamed big...they desired so much more!
Their dreams and goals were lofty and so, they proposed bringing their wants and their desires, their lofty dreams and goals, to fruition.
They would accomplish this by stretching any so-called limits on abortion!
Such a warped sense of achievement!
Wouldn't you agree?
Oregon's Democratic Governor, Progressive Kate Brown, well, she was enthusiastically all in too, gleefully concurring with the measure.
Actually, for her, it seemed to go far beyond enthusiasm and glee, as proclaimed via her “yes, yes, yes”... happy tweet!
Planned Parenthood, well naturally, they were enthusiastically all in too.
But of course Planned Parent-Hood would be, after all, they did have a hand in the writing of the Bill.
{Less emphasis on Parent - more emphasis on Hood!}
Bringing in more profits, is their plan!
Honestly, isn't that all that really matters to Planned Parenthood?
Aren't they all about the profits...the big pay off?
Because it sure looks that way to me.
Life itself in a battle with the all mighty dollar, or since this is a matter of Life and Death, perhaps I should properly phrase it another way,
Life itself, in a battle, with the Almighty dollar!
Passed by all Oregonian Democrats, but for one...
Not recognized by a single Republican, no not one...
the Bill, checklist, if you will:
Women's Health
Oh silly me, I keep forgetting that, which is continually ingrained into our heads, hearts and minds...
Get with the program girl...it is women's health!
We are to refer to these 'matters', these little inconveniences...as women's health!
For those in Oregon...another option, a brand new term, just for you...it sounds very kind and very fair; Reproductive Health Equity.
Pleasant sounding, don't you think?
Stepford wife-type chants are definitely where it's at these days, they are all the rage and seemingly most effective at drawing out the followers:
This is what you do:
  • Show up, fall in line behind the leader; the one with the megaphone and begin chanting, whatever 'the leader' is chanting, right along side, the other sheep...or we can call this group, Stepford wives, if you prefer!
The chant will be something provocative, such as:
Women's health, women's health, women's health...(I am thinking 'Reproductive Health Equity' may be the next "provocative" chant to make it to the streets...perhaps it already has)
Um, maybe not, kind of long, could get tongue-tied on that one!
~~~

None of it works for me, it most definitely doesn't compute...but ya'll knock yourselves out.

I'll start my own chant:

Nope, doesn't compute, doesn't compute, doesn't compute.....

trump-was-the-answer-doing-something-different-in-order-to-expect-different-results

Utter and complete disregard for LIFE, as never seen before

Meanwhile, in other News, what to do about Detroit...Chicago?

Even in the midst of celebrating America's Independence Day, one lone City, Chicago, had over 100 of its own, either murdered or the intention to commit murder was there; via gunfire, via stabbings, via whatever means necessary to end a Life.

Such disregard for life!

Wouldn't you agree that Life has become diminished, devalued?

Also, in the headlines of the day, another very sad story of yet another Police Officer, targeted while sitting in a vehicle; in this case, the victim, a twelve year veteran female Police Officer.

Targeted and then executed, simply because of her chosen profession!

Surely, in her Executioner's sick mind, the endless, mindless, senseless chants that repulsed an entire Nation..."Pigs in a blanket fry em like bacon" and "what do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now."

Surely those sick and disgusting chants, couldn't possibly have further enraged the sick mind of the eventual Executioner, leading him to take the Life of this innocent Police Officer..

Surely not!

After an angry man opened-fire on an early morning baseball practice of Congressmen, (specifically Republican Congressmen) the angry man's brother stated that he had been "distraught" since the election of Donald Trump.

Most of us are sad or irritated if our guy or gal doesn't win, but distraught, over an election?

Distraught enough to want to take life?

I've witnessed a lot of wins and a lot of losses of my chosen Candidates over the years, but I've never witnessed the hate coming across television news programs, coming across radio airwaves, from people in the streets making death threats against this President and his family.

Much of it coming from so-called Entertainers and Comics.

As if taking a Life, is all one big joke!

The man that targeted the baseball-playing Congressmen, was fueled by this recent culture of hate and he acted out. (not saying caused by....but definitely fueled by)

Wouldn't you agree that life has become diminished?

The man that targeted Police Officer Familia, the 48 year old Mother to three...and all the others who have been targeting Police Officers, have been fueled by it, as well.

Wouldn't you agree that Life has become devalued?

What have we always been told about adding fuel to a flame?

Which takes this right back to where it started.....or doesn't start...in Oregon!

What is a Life Worth? Who decides?

I don’t know of a single pro-lifer that has ever said, spare the baby at the risk of the mother’s life. But, you’d think that it happened or was said all of the time. That’s a big go-to for pro-abortionists.

We are not living in the pioneer days. The odds are always in the favor of both surviving, but what else are they going to say? They focus on calling it women’s health, women’s rights, so the baby will not be considered. If they don’t see the baby as a person (an individual with rights).....they can justify anything!

Oregon and other liberal States have taken it as far as they can go.....or have they?

Brad on October 09, 2018:

This is the part of Roe v Wade that the democrats don't seem to know.

"Yet, the Court also concluded that the “right is not unqualified and must be considered against important state interests in regulation.” The Court identified those state interests as protecting women’s health and protecting the “potentiality” of life. The Court developed a way to balance the woman’s right to abortion against these governmental interests: prior to fetal viability, a state could only regulate abortion if necessary to protect a woman’s health, such as licensing doctors.

After fetal viability

, a government could regulate and

even ban abortion

to further its interest in the potentiality of life,

but it must safeguard a woman’s life and a woman’s health."

-----------------------------------

Even under this part of the Roe, the Oregon act should be held unconstitutional

The democrats keep feeding the line "All Men are created Equal" then they support unbounded prevention of the creation.

The other line is "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness", and the democrats don't want to get to the "life" part.

"Life and liberty is meant to mean a person has the right to life and freedom."

And the SC has ignored what is the definition of a person.

The way that the baby making function has been distributed is one male one female.

It takes these two, and also for any sex that can also result in it even unattended.

The equality factor of lgbtq fails in that equation except for the "b".

The reason that women have the actual baby is because with their right, they also have the responsibility to let in the person to have sex and possibly a baby.

We couldn't trust men to have this responsibility frankly because unlike women, (most women) they don't associate sex with love or even a relationship. This classic process has now failed because of the women wanting to be equal. So now women can act like men in the sex department.

This increases the chances of unwanted pregnancies. To which these women demand that they have a better solution than King Solomon.

I previously stated my view on abortion, but I think that pseudo right to kill is based on bad logic from the politicians.

I do question how much drugs, alcohol, and the lack of options, or say the refusal of other options contributes to this problem.

Here is my take - don't do anything that can get you pregnant (this goes for the man who doesn't want to father a baby) If you don't want a baby (or to father a baby) and if you do get pregnant adopt out - why should murder of an infant be the first resort in a civilized society?

About half of all U.S. women having an abortion have had one previously. Policymakers should be more disturbed by the underlying fact that the unintended pregnancy rate in the United States is so high, and that so many women experience repeat unintended pregnancies. Some of these pregnancies end in abortion and some end in unintended births. Indeed, it is not uncommon for a woman to experience both of these outcomes, as well as one or more planned births, during her lifetime.

https://www.guttmacher.org/gpr/2007/05/repeat-abor...

Maybe instead of paying for abortions the government should pay for sterilization for anyone who wants to volunteer for it. After all if they can make the decision to risk pregnancy why can't they decide to not have to make that decision. That couldn't hurt and I bet the women who have multiple abortions (of which there are many) and fathers of unwanted kids will disappear in a short period of time.

I can understand leaving the decision to end a pregnancy for rape or medical reasons to the mother but not without providing her with information about and availability of adoption.

Information like this can also be helpful and life changing for a victim of rape who gets pregnant:

Good Morning Brad.

Over the weekend, my daughter told me about a couple that had just found out, in the development of their baby in the womb, the baby’s brain was outside of the baby’s body. Horrible! I feel for them. Obviously this baby doesn’t stand a chance.

Individuals capable of making decisions to snuff out the life of fully developed, perfectly healthy babies, working tirelessly to make sure there are never ANY limits, make me wonder what else they are capable of. I wouldn’t want to be them, facing God at the end of their pathetic lives.

That’s my take.

Brad on September 16, 2018:

AB

Here is my take on abortion.

Pregnancies that are from Rape or pregnancy complications that can endanger the mother, or damage the baby should be allowed.

Pregnancies that are of the oops kind, need to be justified. If the women believe they are masters of their bodies when it comes to aborting life. Then they have failed their duty of being the gate keeper.

The first trimester should be the only phase for a oops abortion, but when they are there multiple times, not so much.

The second trimester should be scrutinized for medical conditions requiring an abortion.

The third trimester what could justify that?

The flaw in Roe V Wade is that they didn't define the criteria when a life forms, and make it judicial notice.

The current definition is just too vague and ambiguous, and this decision is why we need to set the bar for SCOTUS decisions to be higher than a simple majority.

Abortions are not a right, so why does the rest of the country have to pay for them.

The bottom line should be

If you want to play than You have to pay.

Wouldn't some of these oops abortions be babies that could be adopted? Right now people that can't have babies but want to adopt one, go to Russia, and China and they pay big bucks for these foreign babies. Why isn't that an option?

Well, as far as those who may have been young, naive or just ignorant of the truth they belong under the bus because in the end they alone have to take responsibility for their actions despite what they were told at the time or what they chose to believe. However if they do acknowledge they chose to sin for whatever reason and repent and accept the payment for their sins that Christ has paid for them they don't have to stay under the bus, they can be redeemed and forgiven by the one who created them, who created their lost babies and the one with whom those babies are living in eternity. If the end result of an abortion is that mother is born again into the Kingdom of God then Christ has turned what was sin into a blessing, and that is love. Romans 8:28

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on April 08, 2018:

I've never been inclined to throw my former classmates and friends that had abortions to the wolves. They were 15 and 16 years of age.

We were spoon-fed so much garbage/so much b.s. back in the day. The adults, those in charge, those 'Progressives' who supposedly knew best, intentionally led them down the path of no return...

As for those that have habitually used it as their birth control, because they don't have an ounce of personal responsibility or a soul, apparently....

As for those like Ms. Gov. Brown, gleeful over the unrestricted aborting of a fully developed baby, how sick is that?

I haven't the adequate words!

You are right Tsad, it has 'Progressed' from "it is just a clump of cells" to "it's a choice" to "women's health", because many of these people DO know better and it helps them to sleep at night, calling it something/anything... other than what it is!

The Logician from now on on April 08, 2018:

You know originally women justified abortion by proclaiming a fetus was nothing but a blob of cells. Their rationalizations changed over time as science shown light upon the fetus:

1. The fetus is just a part of the woman's body

2. It's not a baby

3. An egg and a sperm are also human life; the fetus is only a potential human being

4. It's not a person, it has no meaningful life

5. Don't impose your religion on me

6. A fetus is not a person until quickening

7. Life begins at birth

8. No one can really know that life begins before birth

The truth is there would be no human beings on earth if the fertilized egg, the human fetus was not a human, and was not allowed to exist in the womb. It is none of what it has been described as above.

The issue therefore is only a moral one. Is it right, or let's say is it acceptable, to a civilized society to give the right to a woman and her doctor to murder an innocent human being in the form of a fetus in the womb.

Common sense alone dictates, and science confirms, there is no argument that can be made that abortion of a fetus is not murder of a human being who would otherwise be born with inalienable rights, the right to live a human life on earth.

So the only way an honest society can outlaw abortion is to pass a law legalizing murder of a fetus in the womb using that terminology. Since a person can be prosecuted for murder of a fetus under fetal homicide laws (found in 38 states) which justly criminalizes these cases and provides an opportunity to protect unborn children and their mothers it is obvious that abortion is and can only be considered as murder of a human being and to pretend it isn't because it is the woman's right over her body is just a lie, a sin, and pure evil.

Maybe if the law was stated in terms that describe what it actually legalizes fewer women would choose abortion as there are always other alternatives to murder.

Hi Paula - I know we have discussed this before.

I guess I've just seen too many women that I care for, never be able to let go of a decision made a long time ago. It has haunted them for a lifetime.

I blame the emphasis that was put on a way out, back in 1973, rather than emphasis on the practice of restraint, self control and birth control measures.

There is a big difference in an abortion in the 1st trimester and the 3rd, as we very well know! Can the laws get any more liberal? I cringe to to think how they could!

Ugh...back to this 'woman' Mzzz Brown, not at all surprised that this is where she'd choose to take the fight! Against this Nation and against our President...

Suzie from Carson City on April 07, 2018:

ab....(and I thought I get a little forceful when conveying deeply-held belief?) Shucks, ab, why don't you tell us how you REALLY feel?

Bravo, my friend. I am with you 100%. I need to add a few thoughts of my own, which never fail to come to mind when I listen to people (like Kate Brown) who support legal (?) abortion. Precisely, WHO was the first moron to use the term,"legal," while attaching it to abortion? I really want to meet him/her. I just have a few questions. But, allow me to continue............

I whole-heartedly endorse the rights of women being in control~in-charge of their bodies. BTW, I'm quick to include being in control of our minds, hearts and lifestyle. Yes, of course, I'm the boss of me! So then girls, let's get serious, OK?

Allow me to suggest that a primary responsibility to ourselves is to understand basics. The basic understanding of our bodies, our health and .....aHEM...control of our sexual lives, practices & partners. Being familiar with our bodies and how they function comes before deciding to "control" them. Am I wrong about this? There's a concept we need to embrace. It's not new, nor mysterious nor is it a huge secret. Birth control. Try it. Works 96% of the time & sure beats crossing your fingers. Trust me (and billions of other individuals) When it comes to conception, PREVENTION is a great idea.

This is merely phase one of a sincere rant bottled up within me but it's enough here & now. The rest of it would be better expressed in an article, perhaps a lengthy essay, maybe even a book! However, as I said, for now, please allow this to be a statement of introduction. It's enough to arouse some thought, I hope.

We can never give up the fight, ab. I fully appreciate and agree with your fervor. As to the rising disregard for life? I alone do not have the answers, as you admit as well. I believe there are enough of us who do relish the sanctity of life. If we refuse to concede, the time will come when goodness triumphs evil. Don't ever doubt this.

I am all for our free market capitalist system and want everyone to have a shot at success... just don't think it should ever include aborted babies and their body parts!

Thanks for your advice, but I'll leave video sharing to others.

Blessings!

Ara, so you think Scalise was targeted "simply because his views are different from yours?" You may be exactly right but I doubt you were thinking about these specific views, were you? Start here but you should really listen to the whole video and then reassess YOUR hatred of Trump "simply because his views are different from yours."

Interesting article here though the issue of abortion is a bit complicated. I do agree though that profit is one of the main goals in a free market capitalist economy like the United States. Yes, I heard about that man who shot that police officer in New York City. This is sad for sure. We have seen a massive decline of the United States from a social level. I don't think it is right to target a Congressman/Congresswoman simply because their views are different from yours. This is a good start but can I suggest that you add a video or two to this article to make it look more informative?
