It is like a prophetic omen has just passed, if one knows of what the Book of Revelations and prophecy foretell happens in End Days in the Mideast. It is just one more event that has confirmed it.
That aside, it remains a shocking event that Iranians already are in dissent about despite their government's desperate attempts to secure funds, as the American sanctions hit hard.
Iran and China signed a HUGE multi billion economic deal back in March, 2021. It opened the door or China into the Mideast in a variety of ways. Their presence will only grow as times goes on until.... For now, Iran is selling its oil to China despite the embargo and other natural resources. Their country is for sale because of the sanctions and China bought it. China will bring infrastructure projects to help Iran with jobs, repairs, 5G networks, share intelligence, and Chinese weapons technology.
In a way, the sanctions pushed Iran into a desperate corner where they sold their soul to the devil. Now, if the US wants to get them to renegotiate the nuclear issue, it will be much, much, harder due to Chinese relief.
China is now sending 5,000 elite, armed troops, to Iran with their approval in order to protect their interests there and to create two or three military bases. One will be on the Persian Gulf, another near the Iranian nuclear site where Iran is trying to build a nuclear bomb. Iran now has a huge ally on their side. This empowers them and complicates any Israeli or Western attack upon Iran's nuclear development site. If any such attack is going to happen, it now must happen ASAP to avoid Chinese involvement. There are also 10,000 Chinese military personnel in the east African port of Djibouti, not far from the American base. So, the total in the Mideast area is 15,000.
Ironically, Israel signed a deal with China for them to build a port at Haifa and manage it for 25 years! The Israeli response to the Chinese troops arriving in Iran has been mute because it would be hypocrisy to complain about China.
There is a divide between many of the population in Iran and what the government has done. Iran is a proud country and selling off its jewels to the Chinese to stay afloat is like a whore. But, China sees the US influence in the Mideast as a waning power broker under Biden, and sees itself, as the new, rising, superpower to replace the US. It seems many other US allied nations see this as well, as they are more than willing to make a deal with this economic giant.
Once Chinese military bases are made in Iran, China will exploit it. They will send more and more troops, jet aircraft, and arms. Along with the Iranians, they will become a real power broker in the region with heavy influence on Iraq. With Russia and Turkey in Syria, the Chinese and Iran in Iran, maybe Iraq, one day, there will be no influence of the US. Israel will be isolated even more from friendly nations in the area and Russia and China will be eyeing the vast Israeli natural gas reserves in their possession to take.
Since Russia and China are friends, it is not far fetched to see them making a move on Israel militarily one day in the future, should the peaceful method of seizure fail. In this case, will America rush to defend Israel or be too busy with its internal problems?
All of this is in the Bible's Book of Revelations prophecy written over 2000 years ago in the End Days. BTW, America will not defend Israel when this comes to pass.

Well, no one has said that China wants to rule the world with oppressive power and it would not happen, but it can exert considerable influence and military projection in parts of the world they see a need to, or instance, Africa, Iran, Pakistan, South China Sea. The one place war will no doubt happen to is Taiwan. It will come to pass. Taiwan will never surrender to China without a ight. As for India, China will have to face the costs should it dare to seize a small part of India along the borders. India is becoming stronger militarily buying loads of high end Russian and Western technologies to counter China. China is going to work around India I think for its Belt road project. One can also see a conflict arise with Japan over its disputed islands. China's blue water navy will be a force to reckon with in another 5+ years and it will be willing to take on the USN over areas close to their mainland. A wild card is Russia. Putin is not always pro-China unless it benefits Russia. They could mitigate some of China's aggressiveness.
MG Singh from UAE on April 08, 2021:
Ken, After reading your comment I was going to let it pass but then I thought I must counter it with some facts. Firstly I would like to state that the approach to this discussion appears to be a little naive. The rise of the United States and China cannot be compared. The United States is a democracy and there were no laws that restricted the movement of people from one part of the country to another. China is a totalitarian state and even if you want to shift your residence you have to take the permission of the government. The Americans never had ongoing insurrection and concentration camps where more than 1 million men are behind bars. `This is so in China. The Americans, however, helped China to come to its present state but things are changing and you may be aware that Apple corporation has shifted all manufacturing activities and headquarters from China to India so has Samsung. There are so many points that mitigate against China's rise as a superpower to dominate the world. China has borders with 18 countries and with each of them, it has a border problem it has not been able to solve. Their belt and road initiative is floundering and their main ally Pakistan is deep in debt almost a failed state. There is no doubt the United States shot itself in the foot with all the investment in China. It is paying a terrible price but history tells us that all totalitarian regimes have collapsed starting from Sparta. You make a cavalier statement that millions in concentration camps etc. have no meaning and nothing is going to happen, however, the law of karma doesn't work like that. I will cut short my argument and I am convinced with 35 visits to Russia and many to China after I left service that the Chinese need Siberia for settlement as its population is just 30 million and the Chinese have1.4 billion. These are the seeds of a conflict. I repeat China cannot become a world power and dominate the globe so long it doesn't subdue the 1.3 billion populated India. The days of Nehru are gone when Gandhian philosophy ruled now there is a hard leader in Modi and China knows it. China knows that in a conventional military war china will lose Tibet where the entire population is awaiting Indian intervention.I had written a detailed article on the morale of the Chinese army ( there was a counter by a Chinese academic of course). Mon Ami, I won't be writing anymore on this as no real purpose is served. Everybody is entitled to his views but history doesn't work on views. Watch what happens 15 years from now.
perrya (author) on April 08, 2021:
For sure, just like now in the South China Sea, it IS too late to do much about it, the time to do this was in 2012. The same is happening with the CCP using fishing boats to claim areas of the Philippine Sea that belongs to PH.
Ken Burgess from Florida on April 08, 2021:
I think you are confusing the issues.
Is China the world's most powerful economic and industrial nation?
Yes. And it is growing more powerful every day.
Does rounding up millions of people and putting them into concentration camps (free labor, organ donations, etc.) alter that fact in any way?
No, it does not.
Does occupying Tibet, or any other nation threaten that fact?
No, it does not.
As America grew into the world's most powerful force, it put people into camps, it waged war against its neighbors, it had people in poverty.
The issues you are noting, is not a sign that China is weak and incapable, its a sign of a rising empire growing to dominate those around it who are weaker or incapable of resisting them.
Some of the wealthiest and most powerful financial institutions in the world are in full support of the CCP and their efforts. Someday when the CCP/China has grown so powerful it cannot be stopped, these trillion dollar institutions will realize the error they made in feeding the beast, but by then it will be far too late.
MG Singh from UAE on April 08, 2021:
I will like to add further that China is facing an internal upheaval. The Uighur Muslims are up in arms against China and China is carrying out mass deportation and imprisonment in concentration camps. At a conservative estimate, almost 1,00,000 men are behind bars. The Chinese are also facing a big problem in Tibet which is well known; more than 3000 have immolated themselves in protest against China. Somebody must be really naive to think that with all these problems China is going to dominate the world.
MG Singh from UAE on April 07, 2021:
I think most of the people writing on this article are missing one very important point there is no way the China can dominate the world without destruction of India. That is not going to happen as the Indians are now geared up against China and India is the only country in the world which allows a Tibetan government in exile. In the recent face off in Ladakh as I've already pointed out the Chinese withdrew when it came to the crunch of a military clash. India is not a member of the belt and road initiative of China and there are countries around China who are hostile to China like Bangladesh Vietnam and the Philippines. I do not see how China can even economically dominate the world when it is distrusted by all the nations around it and let me tell you even Russia. No wonder the Russians are giving the most sophisticated weaponry to India despite Chinese objections. The long and short of it is so long that India is there with one.3 billion people and strong military China cannot have a free-run in the world. This is the reason the United States from the time Obama and more so under Trump is angling for a military relationship with India. Lastly how many know that 50% of the Chinese countryside still has poverty. I don't see how with such a large number of people in poverty can China hope to dominate the world economically.

Well said Ken...
Ken Burgess from Florida on April 06, 2021:
emge, yes I recognize (and so does China) that they are not going to take over the world with their military.
Their plan is to use economic and socio-disruptive means, but it IS their plan to supplant America.

Leland, nothing more to add?

Good insights gents
MG Singh emge from Singapore on April 05, 2021:
Ken, I am glad you have appreciated what I had written from my earlier personal experience; the Chinese don't want to use their army in a war which they are likely to lose and they will try to undermine their opponents through economy and other devious means.
Ken Burgess from Florida on April 05, 2021:
China's interests are in the oil and natural gas supplies.
They are not in it for anything other than that, China's military show is just that, they are not interested in conflict, for a variety of reasons... they are the opposite of Teddy Roosevelt's "speak softly but carry a big stick".
China projects strength and military might, but they have no interest in using it and risking the shame of defeat.
China has no desire for conflict, their plan is to win through economical and cultural/societal-disruptive means.
Maybe in ten years, when our military has declined and theirs has been built up more they would be willing to test it, but they have no stomach for a real conflict right now.
perrya (author) on April 05, 2021:
And that was in 2012, they are FAR more stronger and belligerent in 2021, and having troops based in Iran is very troublesome for the West and Israel i anything is going to happen in preventing them from getting a nuclear bomb. Conflict is on the horizon.
Ken Burgess from Florida on April 05, 2021:
Certainly an interesting topic, however, China and Iran have had such relations for a long time, I actually wrote an article about this back in 2012.
What this "new deal" was is only an extension to their previous agreements and a slight strengthening of the military support.
Chia was given sovereign rights to the lands they were using and the infrastructure they were building, and they have long threatened that an attack on Iran would be considered an attack on China itself.
Paul Richard Kuehn from Udorn City, Thailand on April 04, 2021:
This is a very interesting and eye-opening analysis. I learned a lot because I have not been following what is happening in the Middle East.
perrya (author) on April 04, 2021:
I know you are underestimating the Chinese because so many experts who are in the know more than me or you, are sounding alarms due to their size. Numbers to prevail in conflict. Their use of soft power and the their deal in Iran opens the door to that region even more for influence. Minimizing them is a very bad thing to do in light of the middle east in prophecy.
MG Singh emge from Singapore on April 04, 2021:
i have a feeling you remain in awe of the Chinese. Chinese troops in Iran are a cosmetic exercise and mean little. The morale of their army where 40% are conscripted with a one-son background is suspect. This is what happened in East Ladakh when the Chinese avoided a military clash and withdrew. They had morale problems./ I have been to China n times and observed that everything is not honky dory. More on that in an article.China a superpower of the world? no way, though many Americans sitting in the USA are in awe of China like you. the sad thing is the American people elected Biden, the wrong man to lead in a world-changing everyday.
