Comment from President Sisi about the incident

He also directed that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the Ministers of Health, Social Solidarity and Transport be relocated to the site of the accident to follow up on the procedures for caring for the victims, and to assign the armed forces to participate in transporting the injured and medical care.
On his official Facebook page, President Al-Sisi wrote: I closely followed the tragic accident that we saw today, with two trains colliding in Sohag governorate.
The pain that squeezes our hearts today will only increase our determination to end such a pattern of catastrophes, and I directed the Prime Minister and all concerned agencies to be present at the site of the accident and continuous follow-up and to provide me with all developments and reports related to the situation throughout the moment, provided that everyone who caused this accident receives a deterrent penalty Pain.
And as I extend my full condolences to the families of the martyrs who met their Lord today, I offer the families of the injured full sympathy, support, and my wishes for a speedy recovery, God willing.
I direct the concerned agencies to take all necessary measures and provide adequate compensation to the families of the martyrs and victims.

The Prime Minister expressed his deep sorrow and sadness over the occurrence of a number of victims as a result of the accident, directing his sincere condolences to their families, wishing recovery to the injured, stressing that he directed all ministries and relevant authorities to harness all their capabilities to deal with this painful incident.
The railway authority commented on the accident
The Railways Authority issued an urgent statement about the occurrence of a collision of two trains in the village of Al-Sawamiah, west of the city of Tahta, in Sohag Governorate.
Meanwhile, at 11:42 am, the air-conditioned Aswan Cairo train collided with the rear of the last car with a 157 train, which led to the overturning of two vehicles from the rear of the 157 train that was stopping on the railway and the 2011 train tractor and the power wagon overturned, which led to a number of injuries and deaths.
Compensation approved by the state for the victims of the accident
Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, said that President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi directed to double the numbers of financial compensation for the martyrs of Sohag trains and their families, as the amount is currently 100,000 pounds for deaths, and from 20 to 40 thousand pounds for injuries, according to the situation of the injury itself.
