Sanger’s List; the Agenda of Margaret Sanger, Founder of Planned Parenthood - Schindler’s List Saved, Sanger’s Destroys

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

"Oh...You are going to keep it?"

Those were the very first words I heard the day I found out that I was pregnant with our first child.

I felt different, as if I could be pregnant. I sensed it and had experienced many changes long before the obvious signs presented.

A co-worker suggested that I go to the local Planned Parenthood for a free pregnancy test and so I did.

It was confirmed, I was pregnant and I was over the moon excited!

We had not really planned to start our family quite yet, but so what, I had a new life growing inside of me and that was such an awesome and amazing thing!

Through laughter and tears of joy, I noticed a stunned face staring back at me.

This joyless person said, (I will never forget, it is forever etched in my brain) "oh, you are going to keep it?"

She then turned to another joyless person in the room and said, "she is going to keep it!"

It was if they were talking about me deciding to leave there, with some sort of disease or alien growing inside of me, which could so easily be exterminated!

Once I was passed being creeped out by their odd behavior, I asked about vitamins, prenatal care and such and was told they couldn't help me with any of that.

I asked about finding a Doctor, they had no recommendations.

In fact, they had nothing else to say to me and nothing, whatsoever, to offer.

What should have been one of the happiest moments in my life, turned me into a sobbing mess!

Fortunately my co-worker was waiting outside, with a big hug and a much more joyful disposition about my good News.

I called my husband, once back at work and shared 'our good news', we reveled in the thought of us, becoming Parents!

Margaret Sanger and Birth Control

If you had not heard her name in the past, you probably have more here of late.

She has had a bit of revival as of late, (not her, she is not in revival, she's dead) but with the Women's marches and rallies, the ongoing fight to keep abortion unrestricted and thriving; in those circles, she is a real hero!

She was certainly a real hero to herself, I guess you could say, she saw herself as God-like, for you see, she wanted to decide who was worthy of life and who was not.

"More children from the fit; less from the unfit, that is the chief issue of birth control."

Oh yes, she was all about the "birth control", but she wished it controlled on her terms and in accordance with her views, which, incidentally, were racist, sexist, bigoted, her feelings of superiority over others was anything but subtle.

The "unfit" were those that did not look like her, did not measure up to 'her very specific standards', those that she didn't deem suitable for parenthood.

"Let us turn to the mother we have just beheld with her newborn infant, what is to be done with this subnormal piece of humanity? Does it not need even more care and attention than a normal child?"

If I am giving her the benefit of the doubt, if I am meeting her halfway, I give her that there are some crappy and undeserving parents out there, from all walks of life:

  • Whether poor and inattentive
  • Whether wealthy and disengaged
  • Whether middle-class and missing as Parents

But, there are also many wonderful parents out there, from all walks of life:

  • Poor in savings, but rich in love and in time
  • Well to do; doing well by their children in all aspects of their lives
  • Middle class; but nothing middle of the road about them, not when it comes to their children.

"Knowledge of birth control is essentially moral. Its general, though prudent, practice must lead to a higher individuality and ultimately to a cleaner race."

"Meanwhile, while Europe is solving this grave problem {the birth rate}, what is America doing? We are breeding, breeding, breeding, excess numbers and for what?"

I, personally, do not have any issues with birth control, but Margaret Sanger did not see birth control as you or I see it, she was all about controlled, selective breeding.

Margaret Sanger on Birth Control vs. Abortion

When you read Ms.Sanger's writings on pregnancy, she praises the attributes of motherhood, actually she refers to it as "Mother Power", all while condemning conception, the duration, the suffering that both mother and child experience.

Each time I read a line from her many writings or from one of her speeches and think I see another side of her, a truly deep and caring side, (she was a nurse) she'll throw in an insult, she'll bring it back to what it was all about for her:

"keeping the race pure and keeping it clean."

(Who does she sound like? A follow-up article may be in the works)

Some of the things she believed and spewed, are mind-blowing to me....

I realize that in the 1800's, early 1900's medicine and medical practices were not what they are today, nowhere close, but in her writings, any compassion she might present to the plight of a pregnant woman, turns quickly to casting shame upon the woman, because she dared to do the deed, she dared to get pregnant.

The more I read about her, the more I understand that look that I received that day I entered a Planned Parenthood facility. I now understand their confusion and I now understand their response, "oh, you are going to keep it."

Was the assumption made that because I ended up in their facility, as a matter of convenience, completely unaware of their practices, I was seen as one of the "unfit?"

Not worthy of parenthood, mother power or whatever the latest terminology!

Ms .Sanger does often write of the dangers of abortion. When emphasizing the importance of utilizing birth control in the first place, she expresses concern about the damage done to reproductive organs long term.

Not much said, not so much concern about the damage done to the baby. Not that a baby is given much thought one way or the other and of course, it depends on one's social standing, race, certain attributes, etc., of the Mom.

In Conclusion

To the men:

if there was anything that Ms. Margaret Sanger disliked more than babies born to "defective women", it was your kind!

"It is a well recognized fact that criminal abortion (outside of a clinic) prevails...criminal abortions arise from a perverted sex relationship under stress and their greatest frequency is among married women."

That in itself is very scary, that women have...most likely still do, cause miscarriage (abortion), but the part about a sexual relationship...inside of marriage, as being "perverted", caught my attention.

"No gallant, chivalrous, sane-minded husband would willingly ask his wife to descend into the valley of death without taking every precaution for the health and well being of his beloved and new arrival."

Okay, valley of death isn't how most normal people would typically describe a new life about to enter this world, but she wasn't normal:

"We are insisting more on quality and less on quantity."

"Birth Control aims for the creation of a race of thoroughbreds."

"Would the cattleman or stock-breeder dare breed from diseased stock?"

"Would the Gardner or Farmer pay no attention to the kind of seeds he planted or sentimentalized about the soil in which he planted them, without first assuring himself that it was nutritious? Would he overcrowd them in planting and sow them so that they would grow up stunted, overcrowded, never attaining full maturity? Of course not."

She, Margaret Sanger, did not leave it there, she would often quote other Eugenicists:

"Nature eliminates the weeds, but we turn them into parasites and allow them to reproduce." - Luther Burbank

I am all for personal responsibility, but this is scary stuff!

The fact that Planned Parenthood facilities are all over the Nation, strategically placed in certain neighborhoods and this woman, this monster, is their mentor and hero, creeps me out, all over again!

Oh and thanks to Democratic Legislators, needing "compromise", in order for us to strengthen our military, secure our borders and whatever other necessary measures we must take in protecting this country, we the taxpayer are forced to keep Planned Parenthood in business!

Planned Parenthood Iowa is all up in arms over Iowa’s recently enacted restrictive Abortion laws. The most restrictive in the Nation, at this time.

IF Planned Parenthood IS all about and only about filling Women’s contraception needs and giving women the proper health care, whether they are pregnant or not......

Why would they be up in arms about this?

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on April 05, 2018:

As I stated earlier, there is so much more going on here, that I did not even touch on, but I just read an article about Wisconsin's Planned Parenthood, in trouble for donating to Clinton/Feingold in their most recent campaigns, but they did not report it. Therein lies their problem.

In researching this article a couple of weeks back, I came across the number 5 million. $5,000,000.00 is the approximate annual subsidy to Planned Parenthood from the Federal Government (taxpayers)

(May remember Conservative members of Congress adamantly opposing this 'funding' inclusion in the recent omnibus bill. Dems threatened to shut down the Gov, if they didn't get their way....remember?)

Also, came across the number 98, while researching... 98% of the {tax exempt} Planned Parenthood's political donations go to Democrats through Planned Parenthood's political arm!

1) Why does a harmless little 'Women's Health Organization' have a political arm?

2) If we, the taxpaying public, are funding Planned Parenthood for so-called 'Women's Health', (like it or not) where does the money for political contributions made to the Democratic Party come from?

3) Are we not supporting the Democratic Party, through an organization, that carries out procedures that many of us oppose (abortion), and each and every time, we try to stop this, threats and scare tactics are utilized by the Democratic Party, to insure they continue to receive their 'contributions and...isn't it called extortion?

Yes, quite right, they all give me the heebie jeebies and the thought that people admire them! Ugh!

After I heard Louis Farakhan say Hitler was a great man and prominent figures (Dems) did not distance themselves from him......that told me all I needed to know about the direction of the Planned Parenthood loving Democratic Party. They've been going downhill ever since.

Leland Johnson from Midland MI on March 31, 2018:

Agreed Tsad. Hitler, Sanger, geobbels, Himmler et al

Leland, I wouldn't be surprised, the sickest movements and people on earth have been fans of Darwin.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on March 31, 2018:

I don't know Leland, she doesn't 'credit' him. I haven't studied Darwin in depth, not familiar with many of his quotes.

Leland Johnson from Midland MI on March 31, 2018:

I just noticed the quote about cattle and weeds. I wonder if she was paraphrasing Darwin that one? He said something almost identical.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on March 31, 2018:

Thanks all for commenting on subject matter that no one really wants to talk about.

If Margaret Sanger doesn't give you the heebie jeebies...nothing will! :-(

The Logician from then to now on on March 31, 2018:

AB, another of your shedding the light upon the abhorrent. I don't see them discussing the life of Margaret Sanger on "The View" but then I'm being disingenuous because you couldn't pay me to watch that show, but I'll bet I'm right. Bazinga! I googled "Margaret Sanger the view" and got nothing.

What I find truly amazing is that despite making up just 13 percent of the U.S. population, the CDC's 2016 report points out, black babies made up a whopping 35 percent of the total abortions reported in 2013. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood, the group that profits most from that statistic, continues its scam as a defender of African Americans.

Walter Hoye of Oakland, California, is a minister who focuses on the plight of African-Americans.Hoye, the founder of the Issues for Life Foundation, is deeply concerned about what he calls “black genocide”–the horrific rates of abortion within the black community.

And then you have the Democrat party, this says about all there is to say about how they have treated Blacks.

And despite all this history of abuse even into the present via abortion the black population in America is homogenously Democrat and anti anyone who stands against the injustices being perpetrated upon them even today. Even a black president has failed them. The only legacy Obama’s administration will be remembered for is an abysmal national health care program, a racially divided nation, illegals sapping our resources, terrorists/adversaries who do not fear us, allies who do trust us, a depleted military force and a 20 trillion dollar deficit from which future generations will never recover. We are disillusioned by your failed promises. Yes, there are presidents in the past that were flawed, but President Obama you have set the standard.

What is so wrong with the black population? How can they, having suffered so much from the policies and practices of the people they endorse go down that road.... joyfully!

I guess it is not so much the blacks are responsible for their misguidance as an example of how Democrats have had a "subversive racism" policy, where they brainwash minorities into thinking they're somehow substandard and less capable than whites, and then groom them to become reliant on the state for welfare. Bottom line: The situation of blacks in America has not improved under the Democrats since President Johnson passed the 1964 Civil Rights Bill…shameful!

Leland Johnson from Midland MI on March 30, 2018:

AB- my comment was a little misplaced as I only saw a small portion in my feed. I thought you were starting a thread, I didn't know you had written an article on the subject. I read it and liked it very much, as usual. It's powerful that you actually had an experience with Planned Parenthood. It is definitely more than a theoretical opinion you shared. Thank you for speaking boldly and knowledgeably on this sensitive issue.

Shannon Henry from Texas on March 30, 2018:

Oh, you make me glad I am not very educated on this subject, actually. I have my very strong, heartfelt opinions on the issue itself, but I have never researched her name or cared to delve deeper into a topic that breaks my heart. What I know is the bare bones of the political side of it. I would have been stunned to have been in your shoes and been met with that kind of response. The thought of abortion would never cross my mind. Plus, I knew someone who had a very long road to forgive herself and to trust that she was forgiven by God for having one. Too traumatic for obvious reasons.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on March 30, 2018:

Yes, Leland she was all about birth control and this article was condensed, there is so much more to say on this subject.

Eric, there are so many couples that would make such wonderful parents, if only they could get pregnant. Thank God for those women, not ready to be a parent, willing to go through the "valley of death", give birth and give baby to loving, adoptive parents.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on March 30, 2018:

Yuk, creepy, inhumane, dangerous stuff about Sanger. I am so happily adopted I am totally blind to this notion of aborting for convenience. Well done piece.

Leland Johnson from Midland MI on March 30, 2018:

My understanding of Sanger is that, while she did found Planned Parenthood, she was actually opposed to abortion. She was, however, a genuine racist. She believed in eugenics- the manufacturing of a better class of humans, which is where her and Hitler's views aligned. Hitler believing in the superiority of the so called "arian" race, Sanger believing in the inferiority of black people in particular. She wanted to see African American men sterilized rather than exterminating their offspring, a difference between her and the fuhrer. Whether or not she personally condoned abortion is an aside because today Planned Parenthood exists, as you know, for the purpose of eliminating the fetus (which by the way is Latin for "offspring.") It is a fact that upwards of 80% of Planned Parenthood clinics are in minority neighborhoods, specifically African American neighborhoods. Her legacy is now one of extermination regardless of her original intentions, not that they were much better.
