I love this quote by Walt Disney.

I'm all for progress, as I know most all of us are.

I hope that by moving forward in science and technology, a cure for cancer will be discovered in my lifetime. I've lost too many loved ones to this horrible disease, many did not even make it to their 50th year of life! An equal number are survivors, but they've suffered throughout the long and draining process and lost so much along the way.

Sadly, I know that most of you reading this, could say the same!

Progress will hopefully see us returning to the moon very soon and will, eventually, see us making our way to Mars.

These incredible milestones/progressions will be U.S......just getting started!

I'm amazed at how far we've advanced in the field of animation, from the early days of Walt Disney’s vision.

'Steamboat Willie' was his first animated movie {with sound} and at the time, it must have seemed to all that experienced it, the pinnacle.

Could anything any more spectacular result from such a visionary as this?

Ah yes, as we all now know, Walt Disney was just getting started!

Go and see an animated Disney movie today and 'Steamboat Willie', so amazing at one time, becomes a real yawner.

No offense Mickey, it is just that we've been spoiled by progress.

To quote another Disney movie, may we continue to progress, "To Infinity and Beyond."

Progressivism

But, there's progress and then there's progressivism....

Not a fan of that latter one...not even a little bit!

Progressivism and America's founding documents are like oil and water.

They just don't mix and they never will be able to.

Our Founding documents were put into place, not to instruct us, not to limit us, but rather to give instruction to and limit our government.

These documents came into existence for one reason and for one reason only, to protect We the People, from the potential of overreaching, overbearing, infringing Government.

Thank you Founding Fathers for your vision of what would, inevitably, come our way!

The Declaration of Independence:.... "We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness -That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed...."

Our elected Representatives take an oath to support and defend the Constitution.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights; so very vital to the existence of this great Republic of ours.

  • Progressives feel that these documents are nothing but a nuisance (unless they need them when they might work to their advantage) and that they interfere with their goal, to grow the government.
  • They prefer a more liberal, socialistic government. A give and take philosophy.
  • Their desire for a more socialistic Government, means a larger, more powerful Government, certainly not a limited one.
  • Their vision handicaps entrepreneurial resolve, it fractures self esteem and self reliance, it’s unhealthy, all the way around!

Dear Progressives -

You are a perfect example of why these protections were put into place so long ago and why our Founding Fathers so thoroughly and so adequately penned the particular words they penned.

These protections, these words are permanently etched into our foundation and are intertwined throughout the fabric which makes America, America.

Alas, our history...so many of you have worked so tirelessly for so long to re-write, omit or to destroy pieces and parts of our history and you've had many 'successes'.

You've infiltrated academia and have worked to turn many of our young and impressionable toward your liberal ways.

As of late, you've manipulated, twisted and have used fear mongering to your advantage and have erased pieces and parts of our History!

But, as hard as you may try, you cannot make the U.S. Constitution disappear.

I've heard you say that the Constitution is dated and that 'these protections' are no longer necessary, not relevant in today's ever-changing world.

I hear those words and realize just how necessary they are!

You feel that We The People can't be trusted in most things and that only Government can give us comfort, provide for us and see us through.

I will look no further than from whence my unalienable Rights came, I will look no further than God for all my needs in that department.

Not the Gov!

Franklin Delano Roosevelt aka: FDR - What did we gain/inherit from his progressive Administration?

For one, Social Security!

Yes, his Administration felt that the Government would/could do a much better job of 'holding' onto our hard-earned money, for us. We couldn't possibly be trusted to do it on our own and so, to this day, the Government holds a portion of our money, until we've reached a certain age, ready to retire.

When I retire in a few years, I may get back all of the money that the Gov has 'held' for me, but my children most likely, will not. There will not be anything left, because as we all know, (or should know by now) the Gov isn't very good at saving or holding in reserve, anything, they spend.

Not quite fair, is it?

But, let's just ignore all 'that history' and take a listen to an Obama speech, a Sanders speech, a Clinton speech, any progressive speech...

Listen closely, it is all about what the Government is going to do for us...can do for us...just untie those Constitutional restraints and give them more power, less restraint and it will be limitless, as to what they tell us, they'll do for us!

Sit back, relax and they'll have your back.

It will be limitless alright, a limitless screwing over of you and of the United States of America!

You too can have health insurance and medical attention, just like our Veterans!

So if I have this straight, although we regularly hear the horror stories of the long waiting periods that our Veterans have experienced. Although we know that some are never seen and pass away, while in the waiting process, we are asked to accept that the Gov do the same for us?

Are we to believe that they'll do a better job for us, because we are civilians?

Again, no thank you.....

  • I want the responsibility for all health decisions, when it comes to me and my family.
  • I want a variety of choices that only the free enterprise system can provide.
  • I want the government to stay out of the way.

The Progressive Mindset

Another area which must be focused on, but definitely was not during the Obama administration, was in securing our borders and strengthening our military!

The progressive philosophy not only weakens the resolve of the American people, it weakens and leaves an entire Nation vulnerable and exposed!

How can anyone get behind this?

Millennials, are you still with me?

These times we're in and this is where it's decided that cuts must to be made and where strengthening should cease?

  • The progressive mindset!

It is still creating gridlock to this day, even with a new administration in place.

It is in our best interest that any growth within the government take place within our military and in security measures.

But this is where another progressive, President Barack Obama, chose to make drastic cuts.

His philosophy, the progressive philosophy... spend, spend, spend...not in the areas that will truly benefit the people, by focusing on the Nation's security, but rather in areas which weaken the human spirit...for their spending, creates complete and total dependence!

The History of Progressivism in the United States

Decided to pull out my childhood World Book Encyclopedia and do a little homework:

Progressive Education: A revolt; grew from a belief that traditional education had failed to keep up with the times.

While 'traditional' stressed the fundamentals of reading, writing, grammar, arithmetic, geography.....history, promoted note taking and used discipline to keep order...progressive educators wanted the focus to be on what each child was interested in. While some good things came out of it, such as more 'hands on' education; it was determined that by the 1960's, students were not learning the fundamentals.

The early progressive party protested conservative policies and stood for more liberal causes (such as their ideas on educating children) they wanted more emphasis on socialism and social issues/causes.

In the l948 election, the progressive party, made up of liberal groups, backed their guy, a Communist, Henry A. Wallace, former Democratic Vice-President of the United States, as their candidate for President of the United States.

Thank God, he lost!

I decided to turn from my dusty old books and do a 'Google search' on what comes up, when the word ‘progressivism‘ is typed in.

Progressivism is a broad philosophy based on the idea of progress, which asserts that advancement in science, technology, economic development, and social organization are vital to improve the human condition.

Okay we are back to Science and Technology, that's good.

I don't see, from history, where it has done anything positive for the human condition beyond and outside of...advances in those areas.

We must get back to the fundamentals and the basics!

We must get it out of our schools, out of media and out of our Government...

once and for all!

I’ve been reminded of this article, here of late, with the Dems all vying for the White House in 2020 and just how far they will go to win! How far they’ll go with their promises of taking from one person, giving to another (especially if that person is here illegally, contributing nothing, while taking everything)

Well, that’s not completely true is it?

The Dems/Progressives/Socialists WILL BE expecting their vote, when that becomes the thing they are all fighting for.... to have American Citizens share their RIGHT, with whomever the Dems/Progressives/Socialists...say we will!

Government has failed at education. Is there any more evidence of that than Antifa or whatever, 'name the thug' in the street protesting, so worked up about...what? They don't know!

Yes, thank God for Police Officers, the National Guard, First Responders, along with amazing Citizens, that rush in, during disasters.

As horrible as all of the images coming out of Texas have been, the bright spot is the Character of Americans shining through!!

Very well done. I just love Progresso soups. Or progress soups.

But we were a little ironic here at the end. Disaster relief is one of the very few areas we need our gov. to be at it's best at.

I was even thinking about mercenaries being more efficient at certain actions than thee gov. troops.

I would bet that my drinking water would be far better if fully privatized.

My son's school is pretty public cutting edge -- I am up in the air on that one.

One funny area is churches. Some do not want religion in Gov. but they are just fine with the gov. in our religion.
