The Death of the Discerning Mind; Making the Illogical, Seem Logical

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

The Discerning American

Here in the United States, although we are a fairly young country; we have a few things that we can brag about; we're entrepreneurial-minded, creative, ambitious, driven...and I also believe that we've always practiced discernment, by utilizing our God-given common sense.

That is...until now!

So many things that have always seemed most logical to me are now seen as illogical.

Unnatural things are now presented as natural

Things that I've always taken for granted, as being permanently interwoven into the fabric of America, have been unraveling at an alarming rate

Our Founding was miraculous and no one will ever convince me otherwise!

I've lived too long for that.

I've always tried to continue learning about this place that I call home, this place so meticulously knitted together, by the Hand of God!

When Benjamin Franklin was asked, after the close of the Constitutional Convention -

"Doctor, what have we got, a Republic or a Monarchy?"

Surely, the elderly gentleman was physically and mentally drained after a grueling and extensive period of time, with heated debate and exhaustive discussion, with the give and the take and the compromising which had taken place...

I'm sure he just sought to kick his feet up and rest his weary body and weary mind -

The good Doctor did take the time to respond to her with this answer...

" A Republic Madam, if you can keep it."

Can we America?

Can we keep it?

Are enough of us aware of what his response meant for us and why we really should give a damn?

I no longer think so; it saddens me to say

There are many born here that just don't care.

Others, understand our history, it just doesn't interest them.

There are many living here that have done everything the right way, in order to become legal citizens, but so many of them have never properly assimilated; they've never concerned themselves with learning about our History or of learning our language and they have no real desire to do so!

They are living their lives within our borders, but within cultural walls...nothing wrong with that, we all have our cultural differences and I, personally, believe that we are made better by that.

We are, after all, the great melting pot, no Country does it any better -

But when nothing about America is embraced and when the only desire, when it comes to becoming American, is to dismiss and resist, while claiming to be a part...therein lies, a very big, a very destructive problem!

Our Founding

Where is Common Sense - it seems to be missing

Along with entire generations that have never assimilated, we had eight long years of a President that wasn't exactly painting a rosy Chamber of Commerce picture.

In fact, if you had been walking toward America, he may have caused you to stop and run quickly...but in the opposite direction!

He certainly didn't make the case for America!

We then turned from Barack Obama to a celebrity, a businessman, Donald Trump; one who clearly adores America, sees the greatness in America, wants to "keep this Republic", but because he didn't seek office to become a part, but rather a solution to our D.C. problem, he had to go!

While he did his best to make the case for America, by working to break up the network {a.k.a the establishment, our D.C. problem} that evil entity, doing long term damage to our foundation, by unraveling the fabric...

he, Donald Trump, found it difficult.

It's a very hard row to hoe, when the powers that be, are working against you, not with you!

The task went beyond tedious, there are too many hardened areas, seemingly impenetrable

And then there's the daily, targeted acts of destruction, which seemingly have no end.

With each new day there's newly added frivolous lawsuits, ending with ridiculous settlements or payouts, because jurors are acting on emotion and not utilizing their critical thinking.

Business owners, forced to accept things that put them in conflict with their personal convictions, all while they are put in the position of convincing a nation and a world, that they are not the monsters they are portrayed as, by the media.

Freedom of speech is being shouted down and shut down on college campuses

One or two news stations that do not conform or fall in lockstep with all of the other news stations, get singled out and targeted!

Benches, flags, portraits, crosses, statues and other memorials are removed, while multiple others are presently in the cross hairs, because they are suddenly offensive, after decades or in many cases, after centuries - Nothing is safe!

It is as if, an America-hating few are calling all of the shots, spending their entire lives looking for things to be offended by and to take offense in, going off half cocked, unchallenged and single-handedly revising or completely erasing our history, in an effort, to end this Republic

It is insanity!

How is any of this utilizing discernment?

What is gained by removing a bench, because 'God' is a part of the inscribed quote?

God was here from the very beginning!

Creator God is interwoven into the fabric of America.

What is gained by the removal of a monument honoring fallen Confederate soldiers?

Most of these young men, (many were just boys) didn't even understand why they were fighting...battles ended up in their fields and at their front doors, it became all about survival.

It happened, we can't change it , it is all part of our history!

We cannot continue to remove parts of our history, a piece here, a part there... surrendering to the argument that feelings must be protected - for there's a great cost!

Centuries old preservation, destroyed in an instant, to total and complete ignorance; common sense absent, discernment lacking.

If a century old statue can be removed and relocated to a place where it will rarely be seen or worse, can a history book?

If a bench can be removed and the word "God" replaced with the words "provided by atheists", can God's Holy Word, the bible, be replaced?

When will all of this madness end?

How much of our history will be hidden away, replaced, covered up...before a hungering and thirsting lost soul will have it's appetite fed and its thirst quenched?

Where is our better judgement, when we allow the removal of these reminders of our History, with barely a whimper?

Are we doomed?

No Jennifer, it is not that simple.

It is a nice try, laying all that is wrong and all that has been wrong for quite some time now, at the feet of the newly-elected President.

Thank God that he was elected over Hillary that was definitely a case where Common Sense was utilized. I'll give the American people that!

To be honest, common sense died when the damage was done during the 2016 election, to elect someone who lacks thereof.
