The Death of the Discerning Mind

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

Our Founding

The discerning American mind:

Here in the States, we're not only entrepreneurial minded, ambitious and driven, but I'd like to think that we've also always practiced discernment, by utilizing our God-given common sense.

That is...until now!

So many things that have always seemed most logical to me are now seen as illogical.

Natural things are now seen as unnatural and vice-versa.

Things that I've always taken for granted, as being permanently interwoven into the fabric of America, are unraveling.

Our Founding was miraculous and no one will ever convince me otherwise.

I've lived too long for that.

I've always tried to continue learning about this place that I call home, this place that our Founders so meticulously knitted together.

When Benjamin Franklin was asked, after the close of the Constitutional Convention,, "Doctor, what have we got, a Republic or a Monarchy?"

Surely, the elderly Gentleman was physically and mentally drained after a grueling and extensive period of time, with heated debate and discussion and with the give and the take and the compromising which had taken place.

I'm sure he just sought rest.

The good Doctor responded to her with this answer...

" A Republic Madam, if you can keep it."

Can we keep it?

Are enough of us aware of what his response meant for us and why we really should give a damn?

I no longer think so.

There are many born here that just don't care, (that is, if they've even been taught our History...the unrevised version)

There are many living here that have done everything the right way, in order to become legal citizens, but so many of them have never assimilated, they've never concerned themselves with learning our History or of learning our language and they have no real desire to do so.

They are living their lives within our borders, but within cultural walls...nothing wrong with that, we all have our cultural differences and we are the great melting pot, no doubt. But when nothing about America is embraced and when the only desire, when it comes to becoming American, is to dismiss and resist, while claiming to be a part...therein lies, a very big problem!

Along with entire generations that have never assimilated, we are coming off of eight years of a President that wasn't exactly painting a Chamber of Commerce rosy picture, in fact, if you had been walking toward America, he may have caused you to stop and run quickly... in the opposite direction!

He certainly didn't make the case for America!

Now we've turned to a Businessman who loves America, sees the greatness in America, wants to "keep this Republic", but isn't a part of the D.C. 'Network'.

While he is doing his best to break up the Network a.k.a the Establishment, he's finding it to be a very hard row to hoe.

The task is proving to be beyond tedious, there are some hardened areas that seem almost impenetrable.

What has become of our Media?

And then there's the daily doses of destruction, an unraveling:

  • With each new day there's newly added frivolous lawsuits, ending with ridiculous settlements or payouts, because jurors are acting on emotion and not utilizing their critical thinking.
  • Business Owners are forced to accept things that put them in conflict with their personal convictions, all while they are put in the position of convincing a Nation and a World, that they are not the monsters they are portrayed as, by the media.
  • Freedom of speech is being shouted down and shut down on college campuses.
  • One or two lone News Stations that do not conform, get targeted.
  • Benches, flags, portraits, crosses, statues and other memorials are removed, while multiple others are presently in the crosshairs, because they are suddenly offensive, after decades or in many cases, after centuries!

It is as if a few are calling all of the shots, spending their entire lives looking for things to be offended by and to take offense in, going off half cocked, unchallenged and single-handedly erasing or destroying history!

It is insanity!

Where is Common Sense...it seems to be missing

What is gained by removing a bench, because 'God' is a part of the inscribed quote?

God was here from the very beginning.

Creator God is interwoven into the fabric of America.

What is gained by the removal of a monument honoring fallen Confederate soldiers?

Most of these young men, (many were just boys) didn't even understand why they were fighting...battles ended up in their fields and at their front doors, it became all about survival.

It happened, we can't change it , it is all part of our history!

We can't remove parts of History....a piece at a time, convinced by the argument that feelings need to be protected and that 'feelings' trump centuries old preservation!

If a statue can be removed and relocated to a place where it will rarely be seen, can a history book?

If a bench can be removed and the word 'God' replaced with the words 'provided by atheists', can God's Holy Word, the bible, be replaced?

When will all of this madness end?

If I am in a public park someday in the near future and a fellow traveler is offended by the cross around my neck...will the offense they've taken, end once I've been guilted into or forced into removing it? (over my dead body)

How much of our history will be hidden away, replaced, covered up... before a hungering and thirsting lost soul will have his appetite fed and his thirst quenched?

Where is our better judgement, when we allow the removal of these reminders of our History, with barely a whimper?

Is common sense lost forever, is it dead?

The latest assault...

The Statue shown below, has stood in Orlando, Florida, in memoriam to Confederate Soldiers, since 1911.

It has withstood the test of time...

but it cannot withstand this latest assault; a deadly concoction of ignorance, malice and progressivism, a total depletion of sound judgement and the death of common sense!

It will be coming down and relocated to an obscure location.

UPDATE: It has been dismantled and removed and it may or may not be at its new location. Mission accomplished...It is now out of sight and out of mind.

No Jennifer, it is not that simple.

It is a nice try, laying all that is wrong and all that has been wrong for quite some time now, at the feet of the newly-elected President.

Thank God that he was elected over Hillary Clinton...now that was definitely a case where Common Sense was utilized. I'll give the American people that!

To be honest, common sense died when the damage was done during the 2016 election, to elect someone who lacks thereof.

A Statue of Robert E. Lee was removed in New Orleans yesterday....Now what?
