People Who Want Women To Rule The World

Charlie Brooker

Why Women Should Be Ruling Our World

I have been advocating that women should be ruling the world for a long time on the Internet. In that time I have discovered that men are mostly more comfortable with this concept than women. This is even true of men who strongly oppose this idea

If you go on anti-feminists message boards you find men who do express the fear of women taking over in the near future, so they see the notion of women ruling the world, a greater possibility, than most women

Some men can be clear about why women should rule the world, an example of this can be seen in the following article in the Guardian newspaper by Charlie Brooker, called: “Women! You have no concept of the depth of male simplicity. And until you do, our world is doomed”

Or an article by a Somali man, also called, Why Women Should Rule The World.

A hub-page with the similar title by a friend of mine Bard of Ely called Should women rule the world, so I feature in it.

Yet some women are also willing to stand up and say women should rule our world, as in the following video, “Sisters Will Rule The World” with music from the Eurythmics.

A short article titled “Mothers should rule the world”, which promotes a video called. “9/11 healing: The mothers who found forgiveness, friendship”. This video clearly shows us how women can come together to overcome conflict and hatred, which would make them better rulers, than men.

A woman who is willing to discuss what it would be like if women did rule the world is Lucy83 in her hub page.

Another women writing about the merits of having women in charge is Swanee Hunt, a U.S. Ambassador to Austria, in her article let Women Rule –

You can find out more about her at. -

A more humorist but very direct article is by Regina Barreca, Ph.D. iN an article for Psychology Today.

In The Oklahoma Daily Brooke Myers/The Daily dares to say,"Matriarchy could solve many of the world’s problems"

Scroll to Continue

It is becoming clear to many people, that while men continue to rule our world, we will always have war and poverty. This is because men are far more competitive, aggressive and violent than women.

The only way to overcome these problems, is to allow women to rule instead. So they can create a loving, caring and compassionate world for us all. You can read more about why I think this, in my other hubs, like Why we need Women To rule our World. Where I give my opinion about this subject

Unfortunately, matriarchy is very rarely discussed in the mainstream media. Though there was once a BBC TV program on this called, What If Women Ruled The World?.

If the people did realize the benefits of women ruling the world, then this will become possible, because we can create matriarchal political parties. Then people will then have a choice of voting for either patriarchal and matriarchal political parties. And then can chose to have a matriarchal government, if they want to.

Interesting theories and thoughts. Thank you for the read.

William Bond (author) from England on September 02, 2013:

Hi Halwick,

I agree that female leaders of patriarchal governments are just as bad as male leaders. She has to be like this to gain power and to keep it. A caring and loving female politician would not survive in a patriarchal government. She has to act and behave like a man to win any respect. Yes, I am sure if Hillary Clinton was to be become the USA president she wouldn't be a lot different from a male president.

The fact is that a female leader of a patriarchal government is not matriarchy. A true matriarchy is where the vast majority of the people in it, are women. (In the same way a patriarchal government is where the vast majority of its members are men.)

It is only in a political party where the vast majority of the people within in are women, can women then start to act and behave like real women and not pretend men.

Halwick on August 31, 2013:

Mr. Wabond, to state that men have been terrible rulers and that women would make better and more peaceful rulers, deliberately ignores or conveniently forgets the history of the following matriarchal rulers and their infamous exploits , i.e,

- Catherine the Great ( waged two successful wars against the Ottoman empire and invaded Lithuania too);

- Queen Mary (aka "Bloody Mary", repressed Protestants and burned 300 protestants. Also caused civil war with the Irish);

- Elizabeth I (Encouraged raiding of Spanish ships during peacetime, by pirates. Took a share of the pirate's profit. Caused a decade-long war with Spain.);

- Queen Isabella of Spain (was cruelly intolerant and encouraged the infamous inquisition);

- Cleopatra (destroyed the Egyptian civilization through weak and ineffectual ruling)

In modern times we've had the following women rulers:

-Indira Gandhi (led war against Pakistan and tried to oppress Sikhs);

-Golda Meir (Zionist who took confrontational hardline positions against Palistine and Arab world);

- Margaret Thatcher (started Falkland War, and was a hawkish hardline anti-Soviet cold warrior).

Women in power can be just as ruthless, corrupt, abusive of power, and bloodthirsty as men, if not more so.

History has shown that there hasn't been any significant difference between women in power and men in power. In fact matriarchal rule has NOT shown to be any less oppressive, autocratic than patriarchal rule. Nor have they been any more peaceful, egalitarian and ethical.

It shall be interesting to see what kind of President Hillary Rodham Clinton will be, should she decide to run and win in 2016. I don't think she'll be any different than her male predecessors.

William Bond (author) from England on January 21, 2013:

Thank you Marius Dumas. Yes, the whole of recorded history shows clearly that men do a really terrible job in ruling our world. So to me it is obvious, that if men are so bad at ruling our world, then the solution is to have women rule instead. Somehow we need to create matriarchal political parties that are willing to say these things.

Marius Dumas on January 21, 2013:

One may argue that women already rule over men in many ways, men could not stop women who had little power back then to become empowered to where they are today. Either men with all their powers they had were too weak to stop women, or most men agree that women need more power. But either way, the more power women have, the more women will become empowered.

One fact is still that much, much more can be done to empower women and to make the leadership of major corporations, United Nations, governments more female dominant. I think we need to start reasoning beyond just the concept of equality and realize that women make by far better leaders than men and woman really strive for a better world. I've seen women outperforming men in many levels of life already. Most importantly as the world is moving towards globalization and the powers of the world becomes centralized. I would say that I would rather leave my rights, my freedom as a man in the hands of women than in the hands of men. Men have send millions of men and women to their horrible deaths and torture with wars for political gain, have taken many people’s lives and rights for exchange of political power.

As women became more and more empowered worldwide, we can see that men would lose many of their advantages and powers but it’s a small price to pay considering the human rights they have gained in return. So I would welcome any idea to suggest that women should rule the world in all levels.

Surely men would have to make major sacrifices when that happens, but everyone will enjoy the benefits. It’s time men must stop being afraid of female power and authority and start embracing it as our future and a path for a better world for all. I say the last 2000 years was ruled by men, Give women a chance and let the next 2000 years be ruled by women. I urge the world’s male leaders to step down and bring women into power as much as possible. Men will adjust to female authority and learn it’s not the end of the world but the beginning of a new world.

“If you want to solve a problem you created for yourself, you need to think on a different level than the time you created the problem. “

“I do not know how the Third World War will be fought, but I can tell you what they will use in the Fourth — rocks!” Albert Einstein

“A new type of thinking is essential if mankind is to survive and move toward higher levels.” Albert Einstein

Perhaps our new type of thinking would be to let women lead the way forward before men lead us the way backwards. I am a man myself and have nothing against men, but I have all my faith in women.

William Bond (author) from England on October 15, 2012:

Men can always find ways to justify male rule and war. Though using the threat of aliens from space is a new one. I don't think we would stand a chance against warlike aliens that had the technology to travel from distant stars.

Whether we are ruled by caring and nurturing women or aggressive and violent men is up to the people. If the people did have the choice of voting into power a true matriarchal political party or the normal patriarchal parties. Then people will be able to vote for female leaders who care about them.

Yolk on October 15, 2012:

when there is peace there will be war, when there is war there will be peace. Peace won't live forever nor war. Even with peace all over the world, how would you know that someday there would be invasion by aliens? If women rule the world then, we will have all been killed. The world would be more messy, chaos, war, conflict if it is ruled by women, because kind caring nurturing government would not be able to govern its people. Men are the right choice to rule, since the past and the beginning.

Steve Andrews from Lisbon, Portugal on July 08, 2011:

Thank you for including me in this great hub, William! I am proud to be listed here and have voted up!

feenix on June 20, 2011:

Very interesting.

If you had been drafted, we just might have met. In Vietnam, the Australians' main base camp was right next to my division's base. And on a number of occasions, the battalion I was assigned to went on joint exercises with Australian units.

One more thing. The Australian troops were a great bunch of guys. I had some great times and lots of laughs with a number of those fellows.

William Bond (author) from England on June 19, 2011:

I could have ended up fighing in Vietnam. I was living in Australia at the time, and was the right age to be called up. But Australia couldn't afford to take all young men at my age and had a lottery, which i fortunately lost. So i had a very lucky escape.

feenix on June 19, 2011:

" ... war is total insanity." It certainly is and your dad is exactly right.

When I was a young soldier in Vietnam, I was involved in a number of raging battles. And on many occasions, when bullets, rockets, artillery shells, etc. were flying and exploding all over the place, I would say to myself, There has to be a better way than this for people to settle their differences.

I really do wish that we could see "peace in our time".

William Bond (author) from England on June 18, 2011:

Feenix, I have never fought in a war, but my father did, and he was the first person to tell me that war is total insanity. Yes, I can understand why a person who has experienced war, will have a greater desire for peace than anyone who hasn't.

feenix on June 17, 2011:

Even though I always try to pass myself off as a hard-core realist, I am really a dreamer.

So, I will join you in your dream of women running the world someday. I have fought in a war and, because of that, I love and appreciate peace more than many other people do.

William Bond (author) from England on June 17, 2011:

Feenix, Patriarchy can get away with doing such a terrible job in ruling our world, because as far as the general public is concerned, there is no alternitive.

Once the general public realise that we can live in a peaceful world if we vote for matrarichal goverments, then this could start a world wide revolution. Yes, dudes with a over-abundance of testosterone will oppose this. But these men can only offer the public, "Blood, sweat and tears". That is to say, more conflict, wars and genicide. So given the choose of caring and nurturing matriarchal goverments or testosterone driven patriarchal goverments, which do you think the general public would prefer?

feenix on June 16, 2011:

In order for women to rule the world, all of the men on this planet would have to step aside and allow them to do that.

Now, do you suppose that all of the dudes out there with an over-abundance of testosterone are going to let a bunch of people that they regard as "chicks" run the show?

William Bond (author) from England on June 16, 2011:

I partly agree with you. My take on this, is that world peace will always be impossible while men continue to rule our world, because men are far more aggressive and violent than women. So if we all, (men and women) want world peace we have to allow women to rule our world.

feenix on June 16, 2011:

I'm an old warrior who believes in war, but I certainly do understand where you are coming from.

I do wish there would be world peace but in my opinion, that will never happen in this realm -- no matter who's in charge.

William Bond (author) from England on June 15, 2011:

Feenix, I agree that without women men would have self-destructed long ago, but men are still capable of this in spite of the influence of women. The many wars men fight with each other, demostrates this. If we want to stop wars and men's destructive behaviour, women need the power to control men.

feenix on June 15, 2011:

As quiet as it has always been kept, women already do, and have always, ruled the world.

If that were not the case, human beings would have self-destructed a very long time ago.
