Ominous Signs of the Decline of America With the Latest Occupation of Capitol Hill by Demonstrators

MG is a keen political observer and commentator who has a ringside seat to the turbulent years of the present political scenario

Occupying Capitol Hill

While a pro-Trump mob forced entry into the US Capitol building in Washington, DC, other smaller crowds gathered at statehouses across the country, including those in Kansas, Ohio, Minnesota, and California. In Atlanta, senior staffers at Georgia Capitol were evacuated as a precautionary measure as militia members gathered outside the building. Most of the situations were dispersed by late on Wednesday afternoon.

The biggest problem was in Capitol Hill when hundreds of them scaled the walls and entered inside. This was at the time when discussions were on to put the stamp on the presidency of Joe Biden. The session was called off and the security men were either in connivance or taken by surprise. The net result was the same and the mob had a field day. As per reports five people have been killed including one lawman.

The president since day one since the declaration of the result has been on the offensive stating every day that the election has been stolen from him. He probably had a point, but then he carried it to the extreme and that was bad for democracy in the United States.

Such actions we see in Third World countries in Africa and the Middle East but one can never imagine that it would happen in the United States. Yet it has happened and that is a fact and this portends a dangerous future and sadly the man who has won the election Joe Biden is not the man to heal the nation. He has severe limitations and will not be excepted by millions as president of the USA and that is the catch 22 situation. I had earlier written that Joe Biden would be the Bahadur Shah of the United States and now I'm convinced I am right and the downslide of the United States as a global power has become a reality.

Divisive forces

History is always a great education. Everyone studies the collapse of the great empires like the Ottoman empire, the Soviet empire, and the Mughal empire. You will see that there is a common thread between them. All these empires imploded from the inside because the leaders who came to the forefront were incompetent. The Soviet empire collapsed because of the incompetency of Mikhail Gorbachev and the Mughal empire collapsed after Aurangzeb when his son, Bahadur Shahi failed and the empire imploded from inside.

The reports which I am getting from my friends in America and many of them holding responsible positions including my relations tell me that America is divided at the moment. Though many Republican leaders have distanced themselves from Trump, yet it would be a fallacy to think that Trump has no support. Whether he's right or wrong is not relevant but the fact remains that Trump has the support of millions of people who think like him and who can go to the extreme.

The election is just a spark that has lit the fuse of the dynamite that was lurking under the surface. There was insecurity among the population and many in America knew that the leaders were not loyal Americans but had sold themselves to aliens. This includes Donald Trump who for 3/ 1/2 years was silent on China as his daughter had got six patients approved by the people's Republic and she was minting millions. He countered this by being harsh on his own allies. Then there was a small matter of the Russian connection and I really do not know whether to believe it or not.

Joe Biden is an undistinguished politicianwho for half-century just passed the time like Rip van Winkle. We all know the famous story of Rip Van Winkle who slept for 20 years. Worse he has a China connection. There is no point in my relating it in this article as it is a fact that has been proved and is well known to all. His son Hunter Biden is the centerpiece in this. I fault him for being a small man, as the first steps he's taking are just to undo something good done by Donald Trump on Iran and North Korea and also later when he had become tough on China.

The biggest problem is that he does not have the support of the entire American nation and I hope nobody wants to contest this point. Good or bad, millions are not happy that Biden is the president and we have an ex-president in Donald Trump who is breathing fire like a dragon and he's a man who could do a lot of damage. I will remind my readers then once the tiger eats human flesh he becomes a maneater and now that the American lumpen elements have tasted violence and rioting right in the halls of democracy I don't think it will not occur again. If force is used against the supporters of Trump, the chances are that violence will escalate across America and that will be the signal for the implosion.

Congress is thinking of impeaching Trump and removing him from the president during his last 10 days. I do not think this will lead to amelioration of the situation but is likely to act as an impetus for further agitation and violence.

Last Word

People who have mountaineered in the Himalayas like me can understand, that when an avalanche begins, it gathers momentum and wipes out entire villages and townships. There is the likelihood of such an avalanche in America led by the supporters of Donald Trump. There is definitely some truth that's some rigging in the election took place and the best way forward is to have a bipartisan commission investigate the malpractice if any in the voting. Biden should refrain from becoming the president till then and let Pence govern the country. This is the only thing that I can think of, that can douse the flames which are likely to erupt. God save the United States.

There is no doubt about it and I have written so many articles on the subject and my latest book also is coming on the question of slavery of the black man by the white man. The white man not only enslaved the black but also the South Asians. We have the famous quotation of Rudyard Kipling talking off "white man's burden." This is the silliest comment I have ever read and yet Kipling is highly regarded in England and also America. I also visited the slave castle in Ghana, where the Africans were kept in dungeons to be transported to America. It's all very sad and I'm afraid one of my articles on the subject was given a zero rating even by hub pages. As far as the USA is concerned, white supremacy has not ended and my only point is that Biden is not going to be in a position to end it If Obama couldn't do it. Thank you I enjoy my discussion with you.

Leslie McCowen from Cape Cod, USA on January 09, 2021:

The history of America is white supremacy, emge. Suppression is a staple, not an anomaly. And....I start to wonder if most white people have never gone along with it either. It truly is a story of the tyranny of a minority.

What happened at the capitol building was a disgrace, and it was encouraged by the present White House resident. As to the elections being fraudulent, just how many court cases should there be? Trump had lost every single one of them because there is no evidence that could overturn the election. His saying so does not change facts. I am not ready to give up on the U.S.

Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on January 09, 2021:

I can't believe you think Joe Biden is not fit for the job. Where have you been? He is a good man with lots of experience. Have you forgotten that he was Obama's right hand man? We Americans are strong and when we have our head screwed on straight, we elect the right people to run our nation, and that's what we did. Never compare us to China, there's no comparison period!

Leslie McCowen from Cape Cod, USA on January 09, 2021:

You’re missing the real avalanche, emge. It’s the suppressed majority. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. 81>70.

Leslie McCowen from Cape Cod, USA on January 09, 2021: think the states counting votes cheated? But only where trump lost, of course. Sure. Pray tell, how could they cheat 7 million votes? And.....why are YOU so willing to throw 7 million people away?

You don’t have to control the media to get your propaganda out. Any slob can write a blog, have a podcast.

But, you see.....when people get killed over it, time to pull the plug. Facebook, fox, Murdoch have blood on their hands.

They have invited violence as much as Trump and the Trumpers. And talk far, some of the worst.

They used to say sex sells. In the 21st century, hate sells.

Ken Burgess from Florida on January 09, 2021:

Emge you are spot on, but also miss the mark.

I like the end pic... those who cast the votes decide nothing, those who count the votes decide everything.

And I would add to that a new facet, those who control Social and Mainstream media decide what is heard, how it is framed, and what people believe.

Leslie McCowen from Cape Cod, USA on January 09, 2021:

Lol, you make me laugh with your assessment of Biden. I guess you didn’t watch his speech yesterday, as they were swearing in new cabinet of which is going to be Marty Walsh, from Boston! Whom Biden called “tough as nails”. We get Merick Garland....which I thought was like oh yahhhhh, payback! But no, that’s not it.

Garland prosecuted the Oklahoma City Bombing case. He’s got his work cut out for him, doesn’t he? Trump is right on par with those guys.

Yeah, if you watched him, you’d have seen he is seething with anger at what happened at the capital.

You are sadly mistaken in your assessment. He is JUST what we need right now.

We will have a new era of American greatness.....and it will include everybody this time.

Mr. Happy from Toronto, Canada on January 09, 2021:

From "Nehanda Radio" here are the news from today: "Uganda wraps up violent and chaotic election campaign". Now all we have to do, is switch "Uganda" for the "United States" and You wouldn't be able to see a difference. Actually, it's not really over in the United States so, Uganda might be more stable.

So, You mountaineered in the Himalayas huh? Lucky You. I love mountains and those mountains look amazing!! Maybe one day I'll make it.

But ya, the situation is pretty ugly in the States and it is interesting how I have not seen many articles coming out on Hub-pages about this. I am reading about it from someone in Singapore. Haha!! Americans are all quiet.

Anyway, thanks for the article. I gotta go to bed. You have a good day!

Chitrangada Sharan from New Delhi, India on January 09, 2021:

Thank you for sharing your analysis of the latest disturbing happenings in America. Though, it's their internal matter, and we should not comment on this. But, being the oldest democracy of the World, it's definitely a cause of concern for every other nation.

My good wishes for all the Americans.

Thank you for sharing this.
