Don’t Just Lock Your Doors, Bolt Them and Watch Your Back; Career Politicians Aren't

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

Another Young Life snuffed out.....

"They've found the body of young Mollie Tibbetts", those were the words we heard after weeks of holding on to hope that she'd be found alive.

Each time I saw her Dad doing an interview, he was keeping his chin up, optimistic she was still alive and would be found.

I remember thinking, if her Father had a gut feeling that she was still alive, then maybe.....

When the news broke that she had not only been found, but the man responsible for taking her precious life, had taken authorities to her lifeless body...I was heartbroken.

It's funny how we often connect with certain people; strangers that, more than likely, we will never meet, while here on earth.

Mollie became one of those people for me.

Only twenty years old, her life had only just begun; a beautiful face, a beautiful smile, she could have been the face which represented the Heartland from which she hailed.

More disturbing news followed the news of her demise...the man....the monster, that took her precious life, should not have been here in the States...it chilled me to the bone!

He broke our laws to enter in -

He felt he was above us all and above our laws!

Authorities apparently had no idea of exactly how long he had been living here...illegally!

No idea whatsoever!

They threw around some guesses; four to eight years, no one knew with any certainty and that my friends, is scary!

Lawbreakers

Are we to believe that those who break laws in order to break into the United States, aren't capable of bending and breaking all other laws?

That's what I am hearing every single day from the Democrats!

Democrats, the left, will paint the most pitiful picture of the plight of all illegal entry lawbreakers....all while painting a horrible picture of President Trump and then placing it and him (the man who has our backs) in the worst possible light. He who chooses to focus on the safety of American citizens above politics and above all else.

~~~
We were all subjected to the video of Philadelphia's dancing Democratic Mayor, literally, dancing with delight, with the knowledge, that "his city" was on the fast track to becoming a sanctuary city, joining other sanctuary cities.
He was obnoxiously giddy and it was unsettling...to say the least!
It wasn’t his pathetic dance moves, but the idea of why he was dancing....that made me sick to my stomach!
Why would he be dancing?
What is in it for him?
I wondered if he was still dancing with the news of young Mollie.
I heard a simple description as to why tragedies such as this, are made worse, when done by individuals that should not even be here:
  • All automobile accidents do not involve alcohol, but none of them should!
The fact that her life was not only taken away from those who gave her life and from those that loved her so, but it was taken away by someone that should not have been in Iowa.
Taken away by whom the Democratic Party has decided belongs here, regardless of how they got here!
A dozen or so years back, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi (same old, same olds) were all on the same page.
They were adamant and active in pushing the message that our borders cannot, should not and must not...be ignored!
All and then some, were out and about with their speeches (see below) about protecting this Nation, by strengthening security, at our borders.
Suddenly, because these people are void of any core values, they put their finger to the wind and if a change of direction is sensed, combined with their hate for a President....it becomes a simple task for them...change course!
No core values whatsoever!
  • It is all about bowing to their radicalized base
  • It is about keeping their seats
  • It is about holding on to any power they feel they have
  • It is about votes
  • It is especially about undermining President Trump
Does that leave any room for you or I?
It did not leave any room for young Mollie Tibbetts!
Chuck Schumer in 2009 -"People who enter into the United States of America without our permission are illegal aliens....."
Immigration and The Law
Are you familiar with Kate's Law and the ‘No Sanctuary for Criminals Act’?
When Kate Steinle was killed by an illegal alien in California in 2015, a law was introduced (H.R. 3004), putting protections in place for U.S. citizens, by increasing penalties on those who enter illegally, are deported, only to return again and again. The man that killed Kate, had been deported multiple times and 'his city' (not Kate's) continued to protect him....leaving Kate to pay the price!
Another law was introduced, (H.R. 3003) this law seeks to defund the cities of defiant Mayors, those who think offering sanctuary to lawbreakers is a 'dancing' matter....and of no real concern to them!
Kate's Law is currently in limbo in the Senate, after passing the House in 2017, with a vote of 257 to 157 and ‘No Sanctuary’ passed the House 228 to 195.
It's something. It is an attempt...to do something!
Immigration laws have been ignored for far too long and instead of the focus being where it belongs, on those breaking our laws to enter in, in particular the criminal element, it is on defying the President and defying all that want our borders strengthened and our immigration laws enforced.
Career politicians that only care about power or going against the President or that find themselves at the mercy of outsiders, aren't going to do anything, that task falls on our Immigration and Customs Agents.
Known to us as I.C.E.!
  • How could we forget I.C.E.?
We are constantly subjected to footage of their enemies; masked, foul-mouthed, hate-filled trouble making Antifa and BLM type punks, as they are repeatedly seen and heard in the streets, condemning all authority, with their f--- I.C.E., f--- borders, f--- walls, f--- the Police, f- - - the U.S.A., garbage chants.
Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Thomas D. Homan is quoted as saying, "of 143,470 people the agency arrested {in 2017}, 74% had one or more criminal convictions and another 15% were facing criminal charges”. John Kelly has stated that I.C.E. has arrested some 66,000 individuals this year that were either known or suspected to be in this country illegally and that of that number, 48,000 were convicted criminal aliens!
In the meantime, while the masked marauders are out in the streets referring to I.C.E. agents and Law Enforcement Officers as racists and Nazis, feeling more empowered with each new day....
another family, greatly affected, in the worst possible way, are in mourning!
Because a criminal, protected by and seemingly having the blessing of ignorant leftists, illegally entered in and committed the horrific crime of murder, another family has had to say their goodbyes and bury their loved one!
Justice Served!
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 17, 2021:
This is finally going to trial this week, 3 years after Mollie Tibbett’s was murdered by a criminal illegal alien.
Funny how a cop can be tried and convicted in record-breaking time, but this one...this case...has drug on and on and on!
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
Hi Paula....Heaven Forbid!!! But I agree, what will it take?
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
Shannon, I hope it all sorts itself out, things are rarely simple and rarely go according to plan.
But, in the case of securing our border, finishing the wall, expecting all to enter in legally, it is that simple and those playing these games should not continually get away with it.
Suzie from Carson City on February 19, 2019:
What a great sermon, T. You missed your true calling.
Angie, I sort of half-listened to the majority of Rush this afternoon (in my car)......I say half-listened because I did a lot of talking. I am rarely disappointed in his shows/topics. I actually can answer you by asking a question that I firmly believe has an obvious outcome. So, don't you sincerely believe that sooner or later, all of "them" (you know who).....will be rudely & frighteningly awakened by what occurs on a massive level, due to our borders being so wide open? Not that there hasn't been more than enough damage, crime, heartache & financial burdening....but what I mean is, I just can't help but wonder if it will take one or 2 or a few serious tragedies that might just affect THEM personally......Heaven forbid. Maybe then they'll stop the insanity? Realize they're playing politics with our very lives? Maybe? That's all I have to add.
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 19, 2019:
Angie, I'd say it's no secret that insiders still don't want Trump there. But as for the show, I haven't listened to much of anything lately. I've had my hands full dealing with tenants lately. Funny thing is that they aren't the biggest problem - the incompetent management company is! And the total remodel that keeps changing into more work.....it was supposed to just be a simple rent house. Ugh. Didn't we agree to take a vacation from work? How about one to the border?
Speaking of the border, I have an old friend from somewhere near El Paso. He and his wife and kids went to visit family, I believe. For some reason they went near the border wall and got questioned by the police. They said the officers were all polite and just doing their jobs. Security is never a bad thing.
Besides, I can't believe that while everyone preaches about how walls aren't needed and that not every illegal person is killing citizens, they don't also mention how many people die in the scorching desert because they tried something stupid. A wall would be safer for everyone. Come legally. It's that simple.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
Any one else listen to Rush today?
Thoughts?
Whether you heard his show or not, what are your thoughts on what I've shared?
The Logician from now on on February 19, 2019:
Who implied I was perfect? I never did, nor did I ever imply that those verses were anything but what the Bible says about it.
You seem to think I think I am better than any other sinner? Don’t know where you get that idea while you obviously think yourself as being above adherence to scripture, adherence which btw doesn’t gain you God’s love. Only accepting Christ and his atonement for your sins bestows God’s love upon you. Only then can God love you just as you are which don’t forget is the same as the rest of us, a sinner.
Suzie from Carson City on February 19, 2019:
Oh!! Speaking of God.....Yes, I see you sent a link to an entire list of verses. I read them. Holy catfish, Batman......the first few I read are most DEFINITELY verses directed at Y-O-U !! You might want to put lid on your preachin and start memorizing & practicing big guy!! LMAO!! Whooooo-eeeeee!
Suzie from Carson City on February 19, 2019:
"T".....Oh really?? PRAY tell ,,,,go ahead and throw some verses at me that have "a lot to say about cussing." A blatant sinner such as myself should know what rules she's breaking. Then again....maybe not. God loves me just the way I am & no one can tell me differently!
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
Back to the topic at hand, Rush has been talking about this bill just signed by the President, reluctantly, so as NOT to go through another Gov shutdown. The 'crap' that is thrown in, in order for us to supposedly gain security and work toward having a much SAFER Nation..... further inhibits the President and Border Patrol from doing their job effectively. The security of this Nation is apparently all a big joke to this crowd.
Rush is speculating that the D.C. insiders STILL do not want Trump there, do not believe he belongs there and they are teaching all of us 'a lesson' to never, ever consider electing an outsider again.
I agree and hope that every single Trump supporter, every single reluctant-Trumper, every single lukewarm citizen... out there is paying close attention to what is happening and refuses to be silent and accept it!
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
...or was it, in the plane? I was a bad charm school student, but I loved the modeling part!
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
Awww, charm school, my Mom gave that a shot too....."The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain." while walking with a stack of books on my head, I soooo preferred to be up a tree...literally! ;)
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 19, 2019:
LOL. Oh, Paula, thanks for that laugh.
Suzie from Carson City on February 19, 2019:
I don't need a DAMNED excuse to cuss! It's simple. I'm a New Yorker. My mother tells us some our first words were "Stop it A$$hole!" and "Mommy, my name isn't damn it!".....Now isn't that special? My parents must have thought so...because it's all recorded in our baby books!! Oh yes.....the money it cost them in Charm Schools!!....
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 19, 2019:
Yes, yes we are. LOL.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
Are we off topic.....AGAIN? LOL, I need to go to work.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
Yes T, I am sure God would much prefer we pray for these people, this "ilk". But, I also believe he'd prefer we cuss them rather than pop them upside the head, as we'd prefer to do. ;) (of course I can only speak for myself) (and for those with absolutely no sense of humor WHATSOEVER hanging out here at HP, waiting and watching for offense to be taken...get over it, I've no intentions to pop anyone upside the head!)
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 19, 2019:
T, you may not like my joke, but it comes to mind.....You do know that "salty" speech has a different meaning for my generation, right?
T on February 19, 2019:
You know the Bible has A Lot to say about “cussing”
https://www.openbible.info/topics/foul_language
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 19, 2019:
The truth is, I really have no excuse. I'd been around people who cussed often and I picked up the "bad" habit. I'll never be one to have every word out of mouth be a cuss word, though. Sometimes, a choice word or two seems to be the best choice in the moment. Also depends on where I am. Let me put it this way, it's so rare most of the time that when I cussed at work because someone scared the crap out of me on purpose no one else believed him that I did. It was a joke to everyone that he made me cuss.
As for these "ilks", I haven't watched the news in months. You and maybe a couple of other people here on HP and FB are my main sources of what is going on in the government. And I don't bother arguing with friends and/or family on FB whose opinions differ. These days, I try hard to avoid disrupting internal peace.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
Hi Shannon, actually I've never really been much of a cusser. These people, this "ilk", T refers to, make me want to!!!
But instead I will keep doing what I am doing. Can never be silent, but we must choose our words wisely!
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 19, 2019:
Thanks for sharing this T.
It is from 2014 I see, how much worse have things gotten since...in just five short years?!? :(
The Logician from now on on February 18, 2019:
AB, before our resident prince of looney logic finds someone at hp he can bribe to ban me I will leave you with this message which is telling you what he and his ilk are doing to our country:
https://youtu.be/w6H12dyS8FI
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 18, 2019:
If you'd talked to me a few years ago, I rarely cussed. Now is an entirely different story. Can I just blame it on life in 2019 in America? But, yeah, that's basically what I meant. LOL....
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 18, 2019:
Oh yes Paula, plenty of times. No doubt!
Some people sure make me want to cuss a steady stream!
Suzie from Carson City on February 18, 2019:
Oh...C'mon now, angie!! Amazingly talented women such as us , can laugh, cry & cuss all at the same time! and don't tell me you've never done that! I do, at least twice a day!!
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 18, 2019:
…so you don't cry or cuss
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 18, 2019:
Well, the only thing to do now is to laugh. ;)
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 18, 2019:
Thank you Shannon, I'm glad that you and most here, 'get' the analogy!
Sometimes we are just going along, thinking we are making perfect sense and the next thing we know, we are called "sociopaths".....such is LIFE in America 2019, as the left seeks to destroy our President, those who support his efforts, (sometimes almost pulling off making him and his supporters come off as horrible people...with much help from MSM) and working to turn the U.S.A. into something unrecognizable.
That's their mission.
That's what we are up against!
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 18, 2019:
Why apologize for the analogy? It makes sense. No car accident should involve alcohol, but it happens. And measures are taken to prevent that from happening as often. Just as no one should be harmed by someone illegally in our country, but it does some times happen (not always). Therefore, measures should be taken to prevent harm from those who should not be here.
My confusion was in trying to follow the sociopath comments and the reasons your analogy wasn't accepted for what it was. LOL
The Logician from now on on February 18, 2019:
Shannon, “How did it go from a simple analogy about alcohol and car injuries to illegals and injuries to something way off topic that quickly? Gun control and car licenses????? An entirely different debate. Geesh! ”
Very good observation and a confirmation of how it got there is the looney logic of Joc who calls us all sociopaths, and I quote:
“Only a sociopath wouldn't consider those examples emergencies.“ ~ Joc
and then claims i am insulting him with his own looney logic. He is an example of exactly what Rush Limbaugh explains is a derranged mentally sick left wing populace that is corrupting every phase of our culture with their looney logic!
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 18, 2019:
Yes no doubt, it did go a different direction fast, but that’s what happens every single time, a case is being made against open borders, Illegal entry, socialism, abortion, whatever the subject, it goes off any many directions, because the left and the right are so very far apart on every subject.
My comment about “no accidents should involve alcohol”, has a place in this argument, to drive home the point of this article, but I’m afraid that’s what initially led to this going off in the direction it did.
That’s on me, my apologies to those following.
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 17, 2019:
Y'all make my head hurt! How did it go from a simple analogy about alcohol and car injuries to illegals and injuries to something way off topic that quickly? Gun control and car licenses????? An entirely different debate. Geesh! Of course, I am often the one who thinks so far outside the box that no one follows me anyhow....so....I don't know.....LOL
Anyway.......I just poked my head back up to answer your question. No, I have not seen either of those movies you mention. Perhaps I'll look them up.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
Not my style Valeant and you don’t want to go there with me.....with your mentioning of the killing of children.
Let’s just say good night.
The Logician from now on on February 17, 2019:
“Level head” just so you know that excludes you!
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 17, 2019:
AB, If you think any of my posts are direct insults, feel free to report them as such. I believe they will stand up to criticism. I said anyone who does not believe the killing of children is a national emergency is a sociopath. I did not directly insult anyone with that statement.
When someone directly calls me a sociopath and deranged, among other insults, you better believe I'm sending that post to those operating this site.
The Logician from now on on February 17, 2019:
Joc, do you thrive on giving us more examples of your “logic” (air quotes)?
You are the one who declared we are all sociopaths! Of course never realizing your “logic” makes you the biggest sociopath of all. Your logic, not mine. You’re the name caller, I am just calling a spade a spade and anyone with a level head can see that.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
....and what are you doing Valeant?
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 17, 2019:
Insulting other commenters is insight? Only in the conservative world.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
No, T adds valuable insight and he is always welcome here.
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 17, 2019:
In terms of gun controls that might save the lives of children, you're right, you don't bother.
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 17, 2019:
I see TSAD is still all troll. I'll definitely be reporting that post to the site.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
I just caught your comment that it is not the bad guys you are concerned with....that’s fine, I really don’t know why I bother.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
Yes his car was in bad shape and he drove until the car no longer moved, he was arrested and taken to jail.
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 17, 2019:
Most mass shooters weren't bad guys before going on their sprees, so it's not the bad guys I'm concerned with. Bringing concealed carry up is comparative to someone getting a CDL, not getting a license to drive.
If he left the scene, how do you know all those details? Did the police catch him?
The Logician from now on on February 17, 2019:
Why do you entertain the likes of deranged Joc?
Really, his presence is an embarrasment to all of humanity.
When shown, as he has been shown multiple times on your hub pages AB just how looney his reasoning is it is a joke to take anything he says seriously.
Whenever it is demonstrated that there is no logic to whatever he just said he changes the subject. For example (like everything he says is an example) tge subject was what merits a national emergency. He states and I quote:
“40,000 deaths last year couldn't be considered a national emergency? Children being shot in schools? Only a sociopath wouldn't consider those examples emergencies.“
By his own stated logic
JOC IS the SOCIOPATH
if he considers that quote to be a justification for a national emergency and doesn’t consider the deaths and child deaths and injuries, magnitudes larger than gun deaths (when you consider 40,000 is a made up figure that doesn’t represent gun violence but many suicides - left wing false talking point)
And so he tries to change the subject from what qualifies as a national emergency to the purpose of guns or the purpose of cars!
As I said, he is an embarrasment as a representative of humanity’s intellectual ability.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
Seriously Valeant? Do you have any idea what one must go through to conceal carry? That is, for those of us that obey the law. A bad guy will do what a bad guy will do.
The illegal who ran into my daughter a few years ago, didn’t have a license, insurance, registration, i.d. of any form, he was highly intoxicated operating a motor vehicle and he slammed into the back of my daughter, while she was stopped at a light, she could have died that night! He didn’t acknowledge or follow our laws, he thought he was above all that! He showed no remorse for what he did, he left the scene without knowing or caring the havoc he created or whether my daughter was dead or alive was of no concern to him. I have no idea what became of him. I pray he hasn’t killed someone.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
Great points all Shannon.
When you mentioned Chicago and some wanting to make it a State or whatever, I immediately thought about the movies ‘Escape from New York’, and ‘Escape from L.A.’, starring Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken. I thought there you go....a 3rd film, Escape from Chicago! Except, it’s not Chicago as a federal penitentiary everyone is trying to escape... it’s Chicago once run by Dems, now run by gangs and illegals with guns (the law-abiding citizens are the only ones who don’t have guns) and everyone is trying to escape the violence...lol, yes this is where my mind goes. (Hollywood?)
Did you see Escape from New York? I need to see if I can find that one and watch it again.
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 17, 2019:
Did you guys really try and compare car accidents to using a gun to murder someone? Do guns have another purpose but to kill something?
Oh, and aren't cars heavily regulated? Licenses? Insurance? Speed regulations? Why aren't guns?
Shannon Henry from Texas on February 17, 2019:
Pardon me, please, while I go bury my head in the sand again. It's so much more peaceful down there and I have the illusion of safety since I can't see the danger around me. (Although, I have been bitten by an ostrich before and I could swear they have rows of teeth that they use when they think they are in danger! Just sayin'.) Also, I am aware that they don't actually bury their heads.
Anyway, I grew up in IL and I think it's a political mess. My aunt posted something the other day that she swears is a real thing. Someone is trying to pass a bill to make Chicago its own state. I'll just leave that at that.
One more thing, why do people arguing against national security not stop to consider that if the government and citizens alike could rest assured we didn't have an influx of people who shouldn't be here constantly getting lost in the system then we could maybe focus on the other issues that could be considered national emergencies from within?
Oh, I lied. ONE more thing. Just for laughs......Several years ago, I was putting together tax information for my husband and myself. I was asked to enter some kind of pin number that we'd never created. I had no problem creating my own, but it said that my husband already had one, so we couldn't file our taxes. It turns out that someone else somewhere out of state used his social security number to file. All we know about this person is that he was apparently a migrant worker who somehow thought he earned himself a $19,000 tax return. Here's the funny part: my husband owed the IRS more than that amount and they took the return. Not so funny - they didn't leave the credit on our bill because it wasn't technically ours. Bummer, right? We would've had it paid off sooner. Haha. We finally got that identity theft all straightened out, but now it always takes forever to get our return back.
On a not so funny note, identity theft is a serious problem that is WAY too common because there are WAY too many people here illegally.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
I missed your comment T.
He probably does believe automobiles should be banned, but for different reasons.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
The point, we don’t need to put American lives in further danger by allowing illegals to just flow in, unchecked, unvetted, unsure of their intentions.
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 17, 2019:
So the bad guy who is an American citizen will find a way to do harm, no matter what we do, and there's no policy changes we can make to stop them from being able to kill innocent people.
It would be interesting to see the lost American lives to mass shooters to the ones taken by illegal immigrants. Because for every instance of a Mollie you throw out there, I can answer it with a list of people where no policy changes are being addressed to halt the next incident from occurring.
The difference seems to be that we care more about the few lives taken by those not from our country than the many lost by its own citizenry. I have trouble with an administration that shifts the focus away from the bigger threat to the citizenry.
T on February 17, 2019:
Whoops didnt men to submit that yet.
For 2016 specifically, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data shows 37,461 people were killed in 34,436 motor vehicle crashes, an average of 102 per day.
In 2010, there were an estimated 5,419,000 crashes, 30,296 with fatalities, killing 32,999, and injuring 2,239,000. About 2,000 children under 16 die every year in traffic collisions. Records indicate that there were 3,613,732 motor vehicle fatalities in the United States from 1899 to 2013.
Yep, by far automobiles are a national emergency!
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 17, 2019:
Doesn’t Illinois have some of the strictest gun laws in the land Valeant? Who is in charge in Illinois? Dems? Sounds as if some incompetents dropped the ball. Hopefully, they will figure out what happened. If it was allowed to happen...
Shame on them, but bigger shame on the bad guy, life taker, he who just wanted everyone in his path.....dead, as he pulled the trigger time and time again! People like him, with hate in their heart, messed up in the head, whatever was going on with him and others like him, they will always find a way.
As for the illegal who took the life of Mollie:
1) He shouldn’t even be here in the States
2) Dems shouldn’t fight for him to be here in the States, illegally, putting U.S. citizens in danger
3) Dems shouldn’t turn their backs on the ‘Mollies’ of this Nation, by offering sanctuary and showing favoritism to illegals (all lawbreakers, many with criminal backgrounds) hoping for their instant or eventual vote. Hoping to win them over, for life
Again, it is made worse, because he shouldn’t have been here, on our soil.
Do you agree with the following statement?
All automobile accidents do not involve alcohol, but none of them should.
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 16, 2019:
Sorry, had to travel for work and then catch up on the latest mass shooting where the system failed to catch that the shooter was a convicted felon and not supposed to be sold a handgun. But even better, they realized that he wasn't but never forced him to relinquish it. No national emergency here though.
Only in our country can a guy use victims killed by illegal immigrants as cause for border security policy, but not use victims killed in mass shootings to justify gun controls.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 15, 2019:
Where did he go? Probably tuning into Rush! :)
T on February 15, 2019:
You can't reason with a brainwashed fan of fake news as Joc has once again fallen back on his proven false left wing of ok paganda talking points. So predictable!
Well covered T, not much to add, other than, I love Rush....no, that’s not what I planned to add. ;)
Valeant did you watch the Chuck Schumer video, shared within this article? Bill Clinton made the same case, we can find that video and share it here. No problemo...
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 14, 2019:
Maybe you've heard of that Congress thing that exists to control the allocation of taxes. It's in that thing called the Constitution.
40,000 deaths last year couldn't be considered a national emergency? Children being shot in schools? Only a sociopath wouldn't consider those examples emergencies.
As for climate change, yeah, you're right. I mean 95% of the scientists on the planet must know less than Rush Limbaugh.
T on February 14, 2019:
Lol, subvert what democratic institution? The border? What does a socialist like you care about democratic institutions anyway?
Climate change and gun violence? Both have been present since the beginning of mankind or the invention of guns. No one on Earth with a brain would consider the state of either an emergency threat to national security while anyone with a brain knows terrorists, illegals, felons, traffickers, drug runners pouring over our border burdening the country financially is not only a threat to national security but the fact the Democrats in control of government are for all of that and dedicated to open borders make it an emergency!
The left is derranged and as Rush spells it out today they are the biggest threat to the country. https://youtu.be/N_teK26YO08
JOC from Syracuse, NY on February 14, 2019:
Yes, his actions are mirroring another leader who declared a national emergency to subvert the democratic institutions of their country.
It's setting up an interesting precedent for when the next president is a Democrat. Climate change and gun violence will be the emergencies they will declare for sure.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on February 14, 2019:
President Trump will declare a National emergency in order to get the necessary southern border WALL completed.
Thank you Mr. President for continuing to have our best interest at heart.
While other elected official's true colors are spilling out, via their anti-America agendas, you remain steadfast and on task, understanding that National Security and our safety should never be taken lightly nor played with, as if it is some sort of game.
Thank you Sir!
I don't see that happening, but maybe I'm just disillusioned at it all every time I try to follow political events and happenings.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on January 25, 2019:
It may just be wishful thinking on my part, but I think this obstructive, defiant behavior of the Dems on our security and what's happening with abortion laws and the push for sanctuary in Democratically-run States, will soon lead to their demise.
Shannon Henry from Texas on January 25, 2019:
I was once told that I'm contradictory to myself. I never did quite figure out what that meant exactly. Because when I'm not confused emotionally or in general, I'm fairly steady in my values and opinions. This is hardly a matter of a change of heart, though. It's an example of why no one trusts a politician. Hell, I have enough two-faced people in my life. Dealing with one in a work situation right now, though not as much as before. This person is still enough of an influence on other aspects that it irritates me. Never takes responsibility and always pins it on someone else. The person who needs to see what is going on is blind to it while everyone else seems to have posted sooooo many bad reviews online about the person in question. I wonder how? Just how does someone like that keep coming up smelling like a rose......and then it happens daily in the political arena as well. Owing people an explanation, money, the right thing......but it's purely selfish gain that wins out instead.
A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on January 25, 2019:
Ugh is apropos! We used to call these people two-faced and everyone knew to avoid them, now they are leaders among our elected Representatives.
As for that 10 bucks per laugh...I'll ask HP for a raise and be in touch! ;)
Angie.....We're charging you for this comedic entertainment.....10 bucks per laugh. We need the money. Sorry.
The Logician from now on on September 02, 2018:
Lol, I can’t take credit for the number man - my father taught me that plus many other similar things like making a rat out of a handkerchief or two birds sitting on a fence, string tricks with your hands and string - he knew so many things for kids he must have been taught in the orphanage he grew up in.
I have to laugh that you mentioned nail polish - you must be clairvoyant! My mother went to the store to get stuff for my 1year old birthday party which they were celebrating that day. We lived in a tiny one room apartment with a fold out bed and my father was watching me until she got back. Well he fell asleep on the couch and I got into the buffet where they had an ink pen and jar of ink which I opened and proceeded to spill all over the apartment, me and my father on the couch. My mother came home to that with dad still asleep on the couch.
The only way I found out about this is when I was in second grade my mother was changing the sheets on my bed and I asked her why there were ink stains on the mattress. They were always there, I just never thought about them. That's when I learned what happened .... and why we had 1 year old birthday party pictures of my brother but not me.
Fine tune that talent Paula, I think you are on to something.
Suzie from Carson City on September 02, 2018:
First off, let me say I LOVE your Dad's financial smarts!! A man after my own penny-pinching heart!
But I also must say..."The Numbers Head," eh?..such incredible artistic talent, T !! Really. With talent like that, I certainly hope your mother dressed you well, at least!
(You must have been very bored to have gotten into to your Mom's nail polish....you poor boy.) A little advice? Just use one color....that multi-color stuff is ugly...OK? Just sayin.......
The Logician from now on on September 02, 2018:
You are right Paula, my father wouldn’t even buy me a basketball. Anytime we wanted a toy, even for Christmas, he always said no they are too expensive! But you know what he did instead. Once he knew what we wanted he’d go to stores on Christmas Eve and look for demos or open boxes on sale. One Christmas all our friends were getting revolutionary war sets and of army men and on Christmas Eve he talked the salesman at Kresges into combining three sets that had been opened and a few pieces missing into one for the price of one set. We were the envy of the neighborhood that christmas!
So for the most part we had songs and riddles to pass the time...like I can draw the head of a person using the numbers 1 - 10 https://youtu.be/cj0yGJfVtxk
Suzie from Carson City on September 02, 2018:
T ~ Seriously, your parents should have bought you more toys. You wouldn't have had to sing or recreate so many dumb songs!!
(Not enough toys,,,there's another one for the liberals to scream child abuse.)
Truth is I was a white privileged, spoiled brat.....but then, considering my parents, if they had been brown, black or yellow.....I'd have been a brown black or yellow privileged, spoiled brat~~how do the liberals spin that fact?) I give up..because I don't CARE what the loons think!
Shannon Henry from Texas on September 02, 2018:
Well now, look at that. Yet another silly sing I can never view the same way again. LOL
The Logician from now on on September 02, 2018:
Actually that is a modern version of the hole in the bottom of the sea. The original, at least what I learned (oh of course as a child of white privelege) had a smile on a flea on a fly on a wart on a frog on a bump on a log in a hole on the bottom of the sea. (actually as a teenager I changed it to a smile on a flea on a fly on a wart on a frog on a leaf on a twig on a branch on a bough on a bump on a log in the bottom of the sea)
Of course frogs don’t have warts and fleas don’t smile (do they?) but hey, it’s a children’s song.
Liberal- “that’s Child abuse”
Now that song is stuck in my head....ayiyi....I need to find some Jimmy Buffet music...and fast!
The Logician from now on on September 02, 2018:
Thanks Paula, now this is a good way to demonstrate how a liberal would deal with your “racist” statement.
First misrepresent what you said,
“Oh, so you think Hispanics are immoral!”
Then make that a straw man to argue against using false comparisons.
“That is no more immoral than a white supremacist song like “There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea”
https://youtu.be/R1Qn2bcZRTo”
“So you are a racist for calling Hispanics immoral and cuckoo”
At the risk of being called a racist on top of a troll I’m going to say that sounds just like Joc’s arguments on anything.
Suzie from Carson City on September 01, 2018:
Frankly......If someone can find any moral whatsoever to the lyrics of this tune......have at it! You'd have to be Cuckoo.
Shannon Henry from Texas on September 01, 2018:
Hahaha....There's a version about the cockroach being unable to walk because it has no marijuana to smoke. None of the versions translate well into English. But as far as silly folk songs go, English has plenty of our own.
Actually, I wish I were fluent in Spanish. That's another problem with immigration. I can speak some and understand more than I speak. But I don't let on that I know any whenever a customer asks me - because if I did that, I can't carry on enough of a conversation to take care of the customer. This particular song, though, is just one that I happen to remember they lyrics to because it is so famous. That and Bilar la Bamba, which is actually saying "para bilar la bamba se necessita un poco de gracia". To dance the bamba you need to have a litle grace. Not la la la la la bamba. Hahahaha.
But anyway.....I do not recall the verse of the La Cucaracha about the woman in the river. Is the moral of this story that not even a river will stop illegal immigration?
Suzie from Carson City on September 01, 2018:
Well, well, you guys.... I can't say as I ever knew the English to La Cucaracha, & although we danced to the melody in school, we never sang it or translated it!!
That song sounds like a damned nightmare, not to mention the lyrics are plain stupid! A bald man finding a comb on the RR tracks...oh please! Bathing in a river & being bit by a cockroach?? If Lady Claire had died, her name would be the same?? Oh, really? How special!
I could have been perfectly happy never knowing those lyrics! LOL
The Logician from now on on September 01, 2018:
Shanon you are right:
The Cockroach Traditional Song(English)
(Chorus)
The cockroach, the cockroach,
Can't walk anymore
Because it doesn't have,
Because it's missing
Two little back legs.
People they say the cockroach
Is a very small animal
And when it gets into a house,
It'll soon be the master of it all.
(Chorus)
When a boy loves a girl
And she doesn't love him back
It's the same as if a bald man
Finds a comb on the railroad track*.
(Chorus)
My neighbor across the street
Had Lady Claire as her name
And if she hadn't died
She still would be called the same.
(Chorus)
When Rita was bathing
In the San Fernando River
The cockroach stung her
But she kept on swimming.
(Chorus)
You do know that song is about a cockroach who lost its leg, right? Well, in the version that I learned as a teen in Spanish class, anyway. There are other less PG versions. But now that I mention it, I see more humor in the song in this instance than I did at first, especially using some of the other versions.
Paula that is every 7th house in my hood. I chit chat with them at my son's school and free meals and free after school stuff. Oh for sure the freebies are not for us though our home is immigrant/legal and minorities but not Hispanic.
Paula with all that they are good neighbors and school chums. Except they are not law abiding. We spend money to be. I would miss my son's friend Emilio if he was shipped off. Great birthday parties with pinatas and bouncing stuff they pay for and pay taxes for.If someone cannot speak a bit of Spanglish around here they are ignorant of our Spanish and Mexican culture.
If someone suggests they have easy one sided answers they are fools with no grasp of reality.
Suzie from Carson City on September 01, 2018:
T......Nice find! Only the blind, deaf, dumb deniers are not clearly aware illegals vote!! My eldest son lives in California. At one point, the home next to his, in an upscale neighborhood, housed 4 Generations of 8 illegals. My son ran into them at the polls!
Try not to laugh......My son went to their front door one morning to ask them to bring their yip-yapping "Mexican Chihuahua" into the house at night, so his daughter could sleep. When he rang the doorbell, it played "La Coucaracha!" My son had to try to stop laughing before the grandfather answered the door!!
Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on August 31, 2018:
JOC You are un-parsing. Right now as developed and enhanced by Obama this is how it is carried out. Using the civil sanctions to just remove which is the cheapest way to deal with it.
But we only have to look at our 9/11 overstayers and see clearly that the overstaying was part of the intent. They dang well knew they were going to overstay (99% of all overstayers) There is your crime. Lying (intentionally misrepresenting) in order to enter. Boom boom boom it is a crime to overstay. Of course minor exceptions. (this is actually a funny one -- person is here legally but commits a serious crime and is incarcerated and can't leave - we can see he did not intend that ;-)
Yes the laws have to be enforced and therefor we must clean up and debate the new laws. I had some association with folks from Vietnam who voluntarily went into "weigh stations" while waiting for approval. Some upgrade needed but it could work for the poorest and the most likely refugees. I have trouble with Mexican nationals. It seems they could all say refugee because of cartels. And that is probably valid.
Just tossing that out there.
JOC from Syracuse, NY on August 31, 2018:
You quoted the law for illegal entry. These people did not enter illegally. What they are doing by overstaying is not considered a crime. The police have no authority over their action, only ICE. ICE is tasked with doling out the penalty for overstaying, which is deportation. This should be part of the change in the laws, honestly.
Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on August 31, 2018:
Let us see here; You said " 45% of the people here illegally got here by overstaying a visa" Illegal is a term of art meaning clearly in violation of the law and criminal in nature. So it was you who was mistaken.
Now for political reasons one might just say "we can pick you up, hold you in jail and then move your body outside of the country" But that is only civil???
And don't forget that cool law that Clinton got impeached over and I think the same for Martha Stewart. No crime just lying and an overstayer has to misrepresent their intentions as a matter of course. Whether or not the got here illegally is per se a criminal investigation.
Don't believe Wikipedia and lawyers who just want you business.
