Commentary From Your Libertarian Opinionizer
Understand this first: The Alt-Left is virtually united in loudly and angrily pretending that there is no such thing as the Alt-Left. They repeat in lockstep unity that it’s just a slur made up by the Alt-Right, ignoring the fact that Alt-Right was of course a slur originally made up by the Alt-Left. It isn’t as though “Alt-Right” just fell out of the sky after all.
Correction: Alt-Right was created as a self-identity by white nationalists. The term Alt-Left and Alt-Democrat are used in this article to refer to the groupthink collectivist "Democratic Socialists" who hate all individualists and want to impose one-party rule on everyone.
But that’s just part of The Democrat Strategy. In Rules for Radicals Saul Alinsky advised his followers to “Accuse the other side of that which you are guilty,” a quote also attributed to Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels. “It confuses one’s enemies and they don’t know how to deal with it” Alinsky smirks.
We’ve seen it in operation. Democrats stridently accused Republicans of stealing the 2016 Election but adamantly deny that Democrats stole the 2020 Election. It’s the Big Lie technique, supposedly coined by Hitler in his Mein Kampf book. But it really doesn’t matter who coined it or whether either accusation is true or false, whether it’s a Big Lie, Big Truth, Big Half-Truth, Big Fake News, Big Opinion Masquerading as Big Truth or whatever; it’s the propaganda game that matters. Convincing people to believe You and not Them means control over the minds of both.
The Alt-Democrats are the ultra-radical hardcore left, liberal, progressive, socialist, Marxist faction of the Democratic Party. They are the Alinsky Democrats, whether most of them are explicitly aware of their origin or not.
The driving force behind the next four—and likely more—years of Alinsky Alt-Democrat Party rule is this: (1) “Never let a crisis go to waste” and (2) Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.”
Let’s take Alinsky and his Rules first.
The Saul Alinsky Factor
Saul Alinsky is characterized by his Alt-Democrat radical supporters as a heroic figure who essentially invented the concept of “community organizing” in the 1930s. He became a full time political activist and began organizing slum communities in Chicago to press demands against landlords, politicians and business leaders in a struggle to bring social justice to the poor, the disenfranchised and the nation’s racially and ethnically marginalized people.
His Rules for Radicals consist of twelve, and sometimes a baker’s dozen, of cunningly deceitful, deceptive, manipulative Machiavellian Techniques for verbally confounding one’s enemies and keeping them on the defensive for one’s own political advantage. Rules include:
- "Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.”
- “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”
- “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”
- “Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”
- “Pick the [human] target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
All of Alinsky’s rules lead to his twin deeply cynical observations:
- “All life is warfare.”–1972 Playboy interview
- “The third rule of the ethics of means and ends is that in war the end justifies almost any means.”–Rules for Radicals (Should “almost” be placed in irony quotes?)
To any decent human being Alinsky’s book should have been titled Rules for Power Obsessed Psychopaths.
The Alinsky Alt-Democrats
Over the years he had a major influence on people who became the most powerful leaders in the Democratic Party.
In 1969 Hillary Clinton met Saul Alinsky while researching her senior thesis, "There Is Only the Fight…”. An Analysis of the Alinsky Model, at Wellesley College. In 2014 the Washington Free Beacon published Clinton’s warm 1971 letters to Alinsky while “She was interning at the left-wing law firm Treuhaft, Walker and Burnstein, known for its radical politics and a client roster that included Black Panthers and other militants.”
The same article notes that in 1968 Clinton asked Wellesley to seal access to her thesis because it revealed “the extent to which she internalized and assimilated the beliefs and methods of Saul Alinsky." Clinton opponent turned Clinton defender David Brock referred to her as "Alinsky's daughter" in his 1996 book The Seduction of Hillary Rodham.
According to an Op-Ed from The American Enterprise Institute “Barack Obama received a comprehensive course in Saul Alinsky during his years as a community organizer in Chicago, an experience Obama recalled as ‘the best education he ever had.’”
The Op-Ed also said The New Republic interviewed then-senator Obama and found him still “at home talking Alinskian jargon about ‘agitation,'” and fondly recalling organizing workshops where he had learned Alinsky-esque concepts like “being predisposed to other people’s power.”
The same article tells how Obama had been trained in community organizing by disciples of Alinsky himself, including one who remembered Obama as “the best student he ever had,” a “natural … undisputed master of agitation.”
So does this mean that new President Joe Biden is also a student of Saul Alinsky? There’s a strong case of guilt by association if nothing else; He served as vice president with Alinsky acolyte President Barack Obama and Alinsky devotee Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Certainly some of The Alinsky Method must have rubbed off on him.
And in fact John Hawkins wrote this in Townhall.com in 2012 when Obama was president: “Saul Alinsky was a brilliant man. Evil, but brilliant. Unfortunately, whether we like it or not, everyone on the Left from the President on down is playing by his rules in the political arena. Not all liberals have read his book or know his name, but his tactics have become universal.”
And just so there’s no assumption that all of this applies only to Alt-Democrats: When President Trump suggested sending illegal aliens to the liberals’ sanctuary cities he was throwing Alinsky’s Rule 4 back in their faces.
Rule 4. Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
The Alinsky Lefties were naturally outraged at their own chickens coming home to roost.
Never Waste a Crisis
While it’s unclear that Saul Alinsky actually said “Never let a crisis go to waste” as repeatedly reported there seems little doubt that, according to the Washington Examiner, it was Former Chicago Mayor and Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel who not only voiced the catchphrase during the 2008 financial crisis but repeated it while discussing the coronavirus pandemic. His full quote is, “You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”
The quotation was apparently extrapolated from Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, page 89, which reads: “in the arena of action, a threat or a crisis becomes almost a precondition to communication,”
Both Emanuel and Obama were fanboys of Saul Alinsky during their early years together in Chicago.
To fully comprehend the crisis concept we need a good libertarian source, Austrian Economics Addict. There is no way to summarize this so here it is in full:
“Here is the template. 1) Use a tragedy as a crisis, or create a crisis where none exists. 2) Paint the crisis with as much emotion as possible, and throw logical analysis out the window. 3) Propose the one and only solution to the problem, which just happens to coincide with what you’ve wanted to implement for many years. 4) Paint anyone who opposes your one and only solution as evil, uncaring, not smart enough to understand the nuanced brilliance of your solution, or in the pockets of …. you pick the evil entity. 5) Force the solution on the people by any means, whether legislatively, by executive order, or through the legal system. 6) When the unintended consequences of your solution rear their ugly head, use them as a reason for more brilliant solutions to the made up crises.”
And that’s why we get to these today:
- Covid-19 Crisis
- Racism Crisis
- Global Warming Crisis
- Gun Crisis
- Economic Crisis
- School Tuition Crisis
- Immigration Crisis
- Healthcare Crisis
- Endless International Crises
The “solution” to all of these crises is the same; surrender more of our rights, freedoms, liberties, personal choices and responsibilities and especially money to the Master Class and they will fix everything.
A crisis needn’t be real, just designate some issue as a crisis, repeat it over and over, and use it to expand the power, wealth and egos of the Master Class at the expense of everyone else. As revolutionaries have long said, it’s never about the issue, it’s about the revolution.
The only real crisis for the Rules for Radicals cult would be if there were no crises at all. But then they would simply manufacture some.
America Needs Libertarians
Republicans simply aren’t capable of dealing with the Alt-Democrats. They’re called Conservatives because they’re conservative. According to The Three Languages of Politics Republicans see the world through the prism of Civilization vs. Barbarism, and they’re just not up to the task of confronting the Alt-Democrats as the political barbarians that they are.
What remains of mainstream Democrats have, according to the same source, typically perceived mankind as locked in an endless battle of Oppressor vs. Oppressed. They can’t deal with the Alt-Democrats because they just don’t understand that the Alt-Democrat’s lust for power has transformed them into the very Oppressors that they themselves have long traditionally opposed.
Libertarians insist that people must reject all forms of coercion, intimidation and fraud no matter where it comes from but they have too little political or social influence to implement this fundamental basis for freedom.
One thing more must be made abundantly clear to those who can’t get beyond their blind Left-Right partisanship: If today it was a case of the Republican Party becoming the Alt-Republican ultra-radical hardcore Right, Authoritarian, Despotic, Oppressive, Fascist faction of the Republican Party these very same charges would apply just as equally and unreservedly to them.
But in spite of the Alinsky-inspired Left and their “Confuse your opponent by accusing them of doing what you yourself are doing” rhetorical gimmick that isn’t happening. There are plenty of intolerant, hateful, racist, bigoted white supremacists on the Republican side that must be stringently and repeatedly rejected but at least they are clearly not anywhere close to being poised on the verge of taking over the Republican Party and turning it into the Alt-Republican Party.
That is reality. And so is this:
The only hope for a free future is for as many people as possible to reject both Left and Right and come to libertarianism. Left-Right partisanship is pointless now. All freedom-loving Democrats, Republicans, Independents and non-political people of every kind must come to understand that it isn’t about Civilization vs. Barbarism, not about Oppressor vs. Oppressed, but as The Three Languages of Politics makes clear, it is about Freedom versus Tyranny, Collectivism verses Individualism, Liberty versus Coercion.
Right now the future looks incredibly bleak. It’s no exaggeration that without a robust libertarian philosophy to guide us America and the world will descend into a New Dark Age.

Coronavirus Crisis Yes the Covid-19 pandemic is a real crisis but to the corrupt Alt-Democrats it’s an opportunity to apply an Alinsky rule: Make people so frustrated, defeated, lost and futureless that they’ll let go of the past and change the future.
Anti-Alinsky Alinskyism Herein each of the 13 original Rules are identified and then countered with conservative comebacks that turn around the extremist’s tactics. Example: “They post a conservative’ address online; we post two liberal addresses online.”
Antifa and Alinsky If, this article says, there was ever an organization that perfectly captured Alinsky’s call to “Accuse the other side of that which you are guilty,” it would be Antifa. The problem: Conservatives are too polite, too nice, too wimpy to fight back.
Trump's Rules for Republicans (Adapted From Alinsky) For better or worse Trump infuriated the Alt-Democrats by throwing their own tactics back in their faces. Of course Trump used to be a Democrat so he knew how their Machiavellian minds work.
