It's Not the U.S. Citizen Acting in Defiance, It’s the Tyrannical Left

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

its-not-the-us-citizen-acting-in-defiance-its-the-tyrannical-left

It’s About Survival

With each new day; a new story of a Pastor...being made an example of, in front of his congregation and community. Make that, God and Country!

Gym owner/operators...being made an example of, in front of their clients and guests.

Restaurant owners...being made an example of, in front of their customers and corner market Mom and Pop operations throughout the Country!

From all we can tell; salt of the earth, living the American Dream, entrepreneurial-minded, individuals, all.

They’d not be ’in the news’, if it weren’t for them fighting to survive in their chosen careers. Their interests, talents, passions, loves, dreams...have taken them each in different directions, but each are currently fighting the same fight!

We’d not know their names if they hadn’t been targeted by overreaching, power hungry, wayward individuals whom appear to be in office, for all of the wrong reasons.

From what I read in the U.S. Constitution, City Mayors and State Governors are elected ‘by the people’, to represent the people.

From all we can tell; these elected officials, (do I really need to point out that they are Democrats) in their blue City, blue State, Ivory Towers, experimenting with the limits of their power, as if to take up the mighty sword to either knight or sentence, with a not so subtle tap on the shoulder.

Playing Kings and Queens over peoples lives, as if they have been anointed by oil with such power, isn’t part of the deal.

We fought that battle long ago. The people no longer live in servitude, it’s time the people remind them of this!

They’ve either forgotten or have never really learned this.

They “are bound by Oath to support the U.S. Constitution“, there isn’t anything remotely close to their wielding their swords, shouting “off with their heads“, in that oath.

If this is seen by some, as an over the top analogy, I'm curious, would it have to come to this, to finally get your attention?

You value your freedom, have you greatly underestimated the cost?

its-not-the-us-citizen-acting-in-defiance-its-the-tyrannical-left

Taking Advantage

The Business owners of Atilis Gym in New Jersey have been fighting their State, as they’ve attempted to open back up.

On Friday night, May 22, the State changed the locks on their business, without ever stepping foot into the establishment to see for themselves, what precautions the gym owners have taken to keep their clients safe.

The State has chosen to deem them a health hazard, regardless of the strict guidelines and meticulous measures they, the owners, put on themselves.

The ever changing shapes and sizes of the hoops they are asked to jump through, they oblige, time and time again...but it doesn't matter, it's never enough...

What of their rights?

I ask you...who is defiant here and who is not?

Who understands their role and who does not?

The State chose to do this on Memorial Day weekend and so the business owners must wait until Tuesday to fight in court, this latest tyrannical act by their occupied State of New Jersey.

The Father/son owners of a Pennsylvania diner are not the defiant ones, when they respond to the endless shutdown orders with the quote, “stand up and flatten the fear”!

They’ve gone above and beyond in protecting their customers, as, no doubt, they’ve spent their entire restaurant career doing.

As if the stifling hovering and over-regulating isn’t enough to have to deal with in day to day operations, they are now faced with anti-capitalist Democratic leaders, taking full advantage of their authority, in order to....what?

What would you call it, shut them down permanently?

Force them into being dependent on the State to meet their needs from here on out?

I am not sure what else it could be, at this point, when up until now, all have done everything asked of them and then some, as the curve has been flattened to a flat-line.

To crush their spirit, weaken their resolve, wear down their resistance?

People are beginning to understand this and are beginning to see that in these blue cities, blue states, it doesn’t matter. These couple of incidents, among so many more, are brought to our attention by a few news outlets and a few newspapers that bother to take the time to search out real life stories that really matter.

its-not-the-us-citizen-acting-in-defiance-its-the-tyrannical-left

Defiance in Action

We are really witnessing defiance in action, here of late.

Not the defiance of the people; the people, business owners, our fellow citizens, have gone above and beyond in meeting certain criteria and expectations!

We are witnessing the defiance, anything but constitutional, tyrannical behavior of Democratic so-called leaders, in democratically-run states.

I hope whether people have gone about their daily lives or are currently continuing to hunker down out of necessity, have been programmed to live in fear or have been made examples of are, at the very least, paying attention!

Many of our fellow Americans are being harassed, treated as criminals for daring to continue to live their lives, making their own living, as free people do!

From pastors, to salon owners to gym owners, to restaurant owners, etc., no matter what they do, the goals they meet, the rules keep changing.

The goal posts are moved further away.

The fines increase, the time frame to reopen is pushed further into the future and they are made out to be criminals, by the very people elected to represent them and their best interest!

We are seeing that the people can't win, not where Democrats are in charge.

But the left, doesn't seem to care or to be bothered by it at all. They appear to be on a power high; with some type of King/Queen complex and although they think it can’t/won't happen, {not to them} they need to be voted out!

We don't do Kings and Queens here in the United States of America.

We do not do tyranny here in this Country, we are protected from that, by the U.S. Constitution.

Your turn now to straighten me out and to tell me where I'm wrong. But, you may want to read what Alexander Hamilton had to say about our sacred rights, before you take a stab.

The Tyrannical, Destructive Left

Now, when we have not even had time to catch our breath, the most vile, destructive faction of the left, is working to finish us off!

If you can't see what is happening...

If, you still choose to blame one man, Donald J. Trump, for anything and everything, including this current madness...

You my friend, are part of the problem!

In these inner cities, which are currently on fire, just last week, their controlling leftist leaders were utilizing every ounce of their power, whatever it took, to hurt, stop, the law-abiding citizen! The law-abiding entrepreneur, men and women, just wanting to go on making a living for themselves and to provide the opportunity for those who count on them for employment, to be able to do the same.....

Now, they can't manage to stop a thief, an arsonist, those committing assault and battery and attempting murder!

Now, they can't manage to keep those who actually just wanted to keep working for their living, to be left alone, to not be ruled over, from getting ripped off...or worse!

LOL...Good to see that people are still smiling.

Have you seen the ad by Ellebabe? (it is on a few of my articles) it looks like a cloth mask, but has a clear patch in front of the mouth...just so that everyone can see that none of this crap will keep us from smiling about the greatest Country that God gave man....that's probably not the reason, but I'm going with it. LOL!

Shannon Henry from Texas on July 02, 2020:

I had a job interview today in a county that requires them in public. Here, only if social distancing cannot easily be accomplished, like the salon or the doctor. And honestly, I wear them when required and not everywhere I go. ;)

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on July 02, 2020:

Well...not really, but I did wear it to the Doctor's office and when I took my mother-in-law to the salon to get her hair done....reluctantly! ;)

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on July 01, 2020:

I am being a good little minion and wearing mine where and as required.

Shannon Henry from Texas on July 01, 2020:

LOL That is funny. I don't mind masks when I'm in a crowd, but more for the sake of others than myself. Here, they are only required if social distancing cannot easily be accomplished. Unless individual businesses require them regardless.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on July 01, 2020:

Had to share this somewhere, seemed a good place.

This is funny and I can so relate when I dare to go maskless and get the looks and the bad attitudes...

I know that we can all use a good laugh right about now:

My internet service is seriously lacking, apologies, I am not sure how many times my last comment was shared!

I hope so! I love visiting your city, but I have zero desire to visit NYC or any other big city right now.

Good morning Grace, nice to hear from you.

Thanks, I suspected. I wish him well, maybe he will now have some calmness in his life.

When cities (not Parks) but cities, within the United States of America are occupied...

When the weak, spineless, elected leftist officials in these cities have lost all control and don’t seem to give even a little damn...

It is time to send in the troops. President Trump will only give it so long and then time is up.

Naturally, people will make him the bad guy, when he must take charge, but these same people would make him the bad guy for waiting too long....we all know the drill by now!

Grace Marguerite Williams from the Greatest City In The World-New York City, New York on June 12, 2020:

Thank you. Hopefully America will be sane again. I would love to enjoy my summers without this lockdown. NYC is gradually reopening.

Grace Marguerite Williams from the Greatest City In The World-New York City, New York on June 12, 2020:

Yes, Randy has been PERMANENTLY banned from Hubpages as of yesterday. AB, I have read your article. America is becoming quite unhinged. The 20th century was extreme; however, it seems to me that the 21st century has become even more extreme than the preceding century. America, to me, has become worse instead of better. Even the 1960s weren't this extreme!

Shannon Henry from Texas on June 03, 2020:

I can understand your point, Ken. I've been in some heated and semi-heated discussions online lately myself, mostly on FB. But no one there has insulted me directly. Of course, there, there is a block button and an unfriend bottom both to avoid having to tolerate people that do throw insults for the sake of insults instead of actually trying to process a point being made before reacting by lashing out. I'm also fortunate enough that on that platform these people know me personally, which helps a great deal.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 03, 2020:

I get what you are saying, he is out looking for a fight and not much more.

Ken Burgess from Florida on June 03, 2020:

@ AB & Shannon

I think the difference may be in what is contributed.

Say I get in a heated debate with someone and cross the line of decency. But I have hundreds of posts where this has never happened, where I disagreed or debated politics with others quite often.

Compare that to-

I come on here daily, go to the political threads and begin insulting and belittling anyone that I find who has politics that I do not like.

Do I deserve a banning in both circumstances?

What if I have been warned and temporarily banned in the past?

Should others still have to tolerate me when I come here to belittle and insult those I disagree with, while being a echo-chamber for those who share my views?

Should I be allowed to insult another person's intelligence and decency just because they do not see the world as I do?

Shannon Henry from Texas on June 03, 2020:

Yes, I get the name-calling and bullying tactics. Insults can often be covert. But I have mixed feelings about things like that, too, because we're all supposed to behave like adults here. In my line of work, if someone gets upset and starts yelling at me I tell that person that I will not engage any further while that person is yelling and cussing or otherwise insulting me. It's not worth my upset and I have better things to be doing with my time. If I have to say something unpleasant, I don't say it as an insult but rather pointing out truth, like something they did was irresponsible and not tolerated as an excuse. But my main point is that reporting and banning here is often unnecessary when we could all act like adults. Moderators could moderate comments instead of people. On our own articles we can control what is deleted or not and in the forums, they could do better there to make it more welcoming.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 03, 2020:

Hi Ken,

I have had several run-ins with Randy, I have definitely called him out on resorting to insults more than once, but a banning!?

Mixed feelings about that.

Temporary or lifetime or do you know?

BTW, I was at the rocket launch on Saturday (well, close by) WOW just WOW!!!

Ken Burgess from Florida on June 03, 2020:

@Shannon

It would be my guess that Randy was banned because he does not engage in ideas and deliberating his positions, rather he resorts to insulting others who do not share his opinion, repeatedly, often following those with differing views across various political threads, essentially harrassing and bullying others on this platform.

Shannon Henry from Texas on June 03, 2020:

What was he banned for? I don't understand why we can't have block buttons to just block people we don't want to interact with because we aren't a social media site (or that was the reason I was given by admins, anyway) yet people get banned for pushing back when poked. And we all have choices to ignore or defend ourselves or to keep interacting.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 03, 2020:

Apparently, Randy has been banned. He gets on my last nerve, but I don't like all this banning business going on around here.

If I'm next, at least I went out speaking TRUTH!!!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 03, 2020:

You are right, they hate him.

Trump wasn't supposed to win. Obama began the "fundamental transformation of America" (he was very clear about his mission) Hillary was supposed to take the torch from him and wrap it up so nice and pretty, BUT the American people said, no I don't think so!

Now, the Dems (the Left) have used everything in their arsenal to get rid of Trump and it will never stop, they will steal the torch and burn down this Country, if that is what they need to do; they are anti-REPUBLIC, anti-CAPITALISM, anti-AMERICA!

You said it right. Nothing he "says or does will ever be close to acceptable in their eyes."

Shannon Henry from Texas on June 03, 2020:

Nothing Trump says or does will ever be close to acceptable in the eyes if "haters."

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 03, 2020:

Nothing from Randy ? I guess he has left the conversation!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

The President said...and did, all the right things tonight with his message to us all and his walk over to the historic church, which had been set on fire the night before, was even more powerful than his words. Well done Mr. President!

I think more and more people are finally realizing that there is nothing "honorable" about Antifa.

"The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting IS domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly." -Attorney General William P. Barr

Sunday May 31, 2020.

Shannon Henry from Texas on June 01, 2020:

I agree. War-like is not the answer even if they claim honorable intentions.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

Hmmm...if by "more war-like tactics", she means they wish to destroy the United States of America, as we know it, then she is correct.

Shannon Henry from Texas on June 01, 2020:

I'm not condoning the tactics, by the way, but it's another piece of the much bigger puzzle. I had a friend put it like this: She said that ANTIFA is against the same things most people are...fascism, racism, etc....but that they use more war-like tactics.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

Shannon, this explains it:

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/attorney-general-wi...

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

Many attempted to protest peacefully, but they were hijacked by Antifa and other left wing organizations. There went all peaceful protests, there went the neighborhood, there goes our Country!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

Shannon, Randy is clueless. He is perfectly okay with all of this, because he too, is in fact, a leftist. He immensely dislikes this President and would risk his Country burning down to show his loyalty, to his party and his DEFIANCE over the election of Donald J. Trump.

This is the work of Antifa and other criminals ON THE LEFT.

Nice try Randy, that's funny....you not only have "opinions", you try to be funny as well.

Shannon Henry from Texas on June 01, 2020:

Oh, it's obviously not the peaceful protesters causing damage. I'm just thinking that there may very well people from both the left and the right causing problems. Extremists from both sides, if you will. And not to mention, the straight up criminals just looking for a chance to steal.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on June 01, 2020:

Shan, there's a group of white people wearing Guy Fawkes masks who show up frequently to cause trouble at protests. Some were seen last night at certain protests.

Along with white supremacists, several groups are using the protests as excuses to cause more confusion. it isn't the peaceful protestors causing the damage, simply thieves and instigators.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on June 01, 2020:

It has to do with people's frustration, not only with the police brutality, but with this cretin's handling of the coronavirus.

Trump had to hunker down in the WH bunker last night. Why did he do that, AB? He's the first POTUS to do so I do believe. No wonder he faked bone spurs to avoid going to war. Brave man...LOL!

Shannon Henry from Texas on June 01, 2020:

I am not against peaceful protests. I think that there are changes that can be made and discussions that need to be had. I don't think all of the rioting is happening because people are mishandling their anger. A lot of it is people doing for their own selfish agendas. So on that note, I do have a question about that, Angie, for anyone who can answer.

I saw a claim yesterday that some of the violent rioting was organized by a right-wing group. The name of the group was not given, just that it was linked to this group somehow. Does anyone have any information on this before I dismiss it as simply a rumor?

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

They are facts, everything I've mentioned in my article and in the comments section, are facts.

What is currently happening in this Country, has nothing to do with George Floyd or a stupid virus or "protests".

I challenge you to prove me wrong!

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on June 01, 2020:

Yes AB, I read your opinions, which is all this article is.

"Now, when we have not even had time to catch our breath, the most vile, destructive faction of the left, is working to finish us off!"

This sentence tells one all they need to know about your thoughts.

You do realize all 50 states had protests don't you? Red states as well as blue are protesting police brutality towards black people. So get angry at the Right as well.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

Dislike intensely, immensely...hows that?

Have you even read my article? Do you have any OPINION about our Country and how it is currently being destroyed by THE LEFT!!!

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on June 01, 2020:

Does saying I hate Trump do something for you, AB? I already explained I pitied him rather abhor him. But keep saying it if it gives you pleasure.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

REVISED!!!!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

POWERFUL!!!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on June 01, 2020:

Right now I am just concerned about a bunch of brats destroying our Country...you stay focused on your hate for one man, I will pray for the healing of this Nation.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 31, 2020:

AB and Shan, in other words, I can't hate someone I feel sorry for. His childish, selfish behavior is to be pitied, not respected. Yes, he stopped some of the travel from China, but the majority of US cases originated in Europe.

What a genius who ignored the Pandemic Playbook compiled just for such a virus. DOH!

And no AB, no chaos, unless you think Trump losing the election would qualify?

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

Just another excuse to get mad at Trump for things he doesn't say with finesse or any tact. But agree with him or not, you're right about it being madness. I don't know what's going on in D.C. at the moment, but it's hard to keep up with it all.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

They might burn down the White House before this is all over....this is madness!!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

I am sure many frustrated people are caught up in the middle of this and no doubt...leftists aren't about to let this "crisis go to waste". They are loving it and taking full advantage of it, no matter the costs!

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." - Rahm Emanuel (D)

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

Some are saying that the recent economic lockdown is partly behind the chaos. Anger and frustration over not being able to work. It's hit disadvantaged communities harder than middle, upper-middle-class, and white-collar communities.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

He isn’t concerned? He was the only one that showed any type of concern...from the start! Remember when Nancy, Biden and company.....those you apparently respect, were all calling him racist and xenophobic for stopping travel from China immediately? I remember!!! It is all documented.

We don’t just pretend it didn’t happen because you don’t like the man and wish to change the narrative....

If the next few months “turn out the way you think they will”, what do you mean by that Randy? Do you have some insider information from the chaotic streets?

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

How is it that you can't hate someone you don't respect in some way or another? Respect is the opposite of hate. Seems to me that a person might dislike someone but still respect them. I can't think of a single person I hate through and through, but those that I intensely dislike are those that I have no respect for at all.

And what happened to respecting the POTUS regardless of party affiliation? Things just keep on changing and people say the goal is to make it better and more inclusive and yet people keep right on judging those we don't even know personally.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 31, 2020:

AB, I can't hate someone who I don't respect in some way or another. Trump has nothing for me to respect, especially his childish rantings when he doesn't get his way. He isn't concerned about the many deaths caused by the coronavirus, just how it affects his chance of being reelected.

Your children will have no problem deciding who was the better POTUS between Obama and Trump, especially if the next few months turn out the way I think they will.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

No, you are right, how are they supposed to function? I feel for them, as they attempt to live their independent lives, this is definitely interfering. :(

Great song, great lyrics, thanks for sharing,

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

I know you didn't necessarily mean that to be funny, Angie, but you made me chuckle nonetheless. I can hear it in my head.

And...since you brought up Dierks Bentley earlier, I listened to the song you first mentioned and then YouTube just keep playing more songs by him. This one is perfect for this hub, I think.

"I hold on t

To the things, I believe in

My faith, your love, our freedom

To the things I can count on

To keep me going strong

Yeah, I hold on"

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

Shannon, I am deaf trying to understand people talking from behind masks, it sounds like Charlie Brown’s teacher!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

I am sorry that you hate the man, hate in one’s heart is damaging. I hope that you can work through that at some point.

I thought Barack was a lousy President, I don’t hate him though. He seems to be a good husband and a good father.

President Trump has turned out to be a good President. He governs conservatively, as I believe this Country should be governed.

He also seems to be a good husband, father and grandfather. I am not going to go looking in the past to find things to judge him by.

My children are adults, if they choose to see Trump as a role model, that’s up to them. My grandchildren are very young, but someday they can look back and see for themselves which of these two Presidents was good for America.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 31, 2020:

So why don't you want your offspring to use Trump as a role model if you believe he's handling this crisis correctly, AB? Do you really believe he's an honest person, especially with himself?

Do you enjoy it when he insults women and others he's intimidated by? His accusing Joe Scarborough of murder when Joe wasn't even in the state tells me all I need to know about Trump and his thoughts.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

I also forgot to mention that masks in the general public are not helpful to people who are deaf. It puts them at an even bigger disadvantage because they can't read lips.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

Most people should grasp that concept. We're taught that early on and there is always a chance of being exposed to something via asymptomatic carriers. That's why we develop vaccinations. It seems like extreme measures would only hurt our immune systems in the long run. I rarely get severely ill. Even when I had the flu earlier this year I wasn't bedridden, too weak to move around. But I remember when I worked in daycare and church nursery settings. For the first month or so, I caught every little bug those toddlers brought with them. Because why let the teacher wipe your nose with a tissue when the teacher's shirt works just as well? LOL.....But after that, I didn't get sick easily. And I think any parent can relate. Kids bring all kinds of things home from school, especially during their first years at daycare or school.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

It does seem to be what some are working toward Shannon. 'A new normal'....no thanks, I am a social butterfly, I am a hugger, I hug!

If I am sick or feel as if I am getting sick..I don't hug...I avoid people...easy peasy!

Most people grasp this concept. :)

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

As for your other questions; I was asking if you would accept being told to wear a mask indefinitely, without asking questions. (It is just a question!)

I am not "assuming" anything, I would put money on leftists being behind the mayhem and destruction currently taking place. It is what they do!

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

In the meantime, there's still this virus thing happening that everyone was so afraid of. People wearing these masks but not social distancing to protest. With all that cross-contamination, that's the reason masks are likely ineffective outside a medical setting, for the most part.

And I just saw clips on TV of things going on around the world with the "new normal" (why is that even a term?) and what is happening now. Brazil seemed to have mass burials happening now while Holland, I think it was, now has plexiglass cubicles set up at the desks of their students. Are we expected to become anti-social beings all of a sudden? Talk but don't touch? I've never been a touchy-feely kind of person. I'm more likely to be affectionate via touch with people that I know really well, but that doesn't mean I never touch anyone or that no one ever touches me. I can't imagine a setting in which my children are not allowed to touch their friends or get close enough to whisper some private inside joke.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

Randy, I taught my kids to keep their eyes on God, because people are imperfect and will steer them wrong and let them down.

But, when talking about love of this Country, doing what is best for this Country and her people, I can't think of any other, any more up for the challenge, than Donald Trump, at this moment in time.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 31, 2020:

Who told you not ask questions, AB? What questions do you want to ask?

And why are you assuming it's those on the left doing the looting? Where did you get this info?

I can see the good in everyone you mentioned except Trump. You apparently believe he's an honest man despite his many lies and attacks on people who disagree with him.

Do you really hold him up as a role model for your children and grandchildren? Do you hope they'll turn out like him with all his petty grievances and dishonesty? I hope not, for their sakes...

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

But, you would accept it, right Randy? If you were told, not to ask questions, just wear the mask, would you comply?

If you were asked to look for the best in this Country, in Trump, in me, Eric, Shannon....could you?

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

I will never give up on our youth and I will never give up on the goodness of this Country.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

Hi Shannon, sadly those behind the rioting, (not the peaceful protestors, that is something totally different) do have an agenda and they do feel as if they have something to "gain".

Their vision for this Country isn't your vision or my vision, Trump's vision or our Founders vision...

Theirs is a vision of anti-capitalism, where socialism takes its place. They've been taught to hate this Country. They look for the worst in it, while the majority of us see the best in it. The way we come together to rebuild after hurricanes; not just here on our soil, but wherever natural disasters hit, the U.S. is there!!

The way we've been supportive of small businesses, Servers, Mom & Pop operations, etc. all hurt by massive restrictions placed on them during this pandemic. We've been supporting, tipping extra, doing whatever we can to help them get back on their feet and come back, hopefully stronger than ever before. It is something that is innately in us, to do for others!

But, not these leftist anarchists, they want to strike while the iron is hot, kick them (us, this Country) while we are down and most vulnerable. They don't want us coming back, they want to keep us down, not rebuilding and totally dependent on others.

Either, they've been taught to hate this Country with bogus,, revisionst CRAP or they are weak and they are followers and they are only being used.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 31, 2020:

I'm pleased you use lots of sources for your info, Shannon. I view all sorts of venues to get to the real truth, even Fox News.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

I never said I thought one way or another about who is behind it. I simply asked a question. Besides, I generally don't form my opinions based on one particular news source. Fox or otherwise. There's this thing called cross-referencing.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 31, 2020:

Shannon, what makes you think it's the far left instead of the far right behind all of the rioting and looting? Fox News?

AB, no one said we have to live our entire lives behind a mask.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

Yes Randy...I don't think it is a an earth shattering statement in saying... that most people prefer not to live their lives, behind a mask.

Those that do, usually have an agenda...and I'm not talking surgeons, just to be clear.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

About the rioting, Angie.....the whole thing is heart-breaking. As if the loss of George Floyd's life wasn't enough to be sad or angry over, now the rioters are making things worse for people trying to protest peacefully. Watching cities and communities being torn apart at the seams...

In Dallas the other night, there were people who split away from the main protesters to go loot and destroy buildings in a part of the Deep Ellum neighborhood. These are small business owners who just reopened after being closed for so long due to the virus. Now they have to close again to clean up and assess damages. These people understand the anger and the need for change (remember, both Ft Worth and Dallas have had rather recent incidents of death due to racial inequality and the cops), but these people had nothing to do with any of the events in Minnesota or locally. I don't for the life of me understand how acting out in anger that way helps in matters such as this. Protesting is one thing. Rioting and looting adds to the problem in so many ways. So if this is indeed driven by the far-left extremists, what are they gaining? Or trying to gain? How does putting more of a wedge in the racial divide help their agenda?

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

No one here said the virus or wearing masks is a hoax. However, I've had medical professionals point out that gloves do more cross-contamination than prevention. I can easily say the same about masks. Next time you're in public, watch how many people with masks either don't wear them properly or touch the mask and then touch other things around them. That's why I stated in one of my earlier comments about the masks that the medical professionals do not wear the same mask over and over under normal circumstances and that they dispose of them properly. They also don't normally are able to change masks and gloves and such between patient instead of using the same masks from patient to patient. Not to mention, the reason healthcare professionals cannot protect themselves and their patients properly is because the general public keeps using them instead of making their own.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 31, 2020:

No insult intended, AB. But you did say she'd "prefer" not to wear a mask at work, didn't you?

And Eric, unlike you, I wear a mask to protect myself as well as others when in the general public. Medical personnel apparently realize masks do indeed serve a useful function of preventing spreading of germs of many types, but you guys go ahead and believe it's all a left wing hoax as your role model claims.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 31, 2020:

Maybe you do read my mind, Angie. I was about to share this article with you: https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-attorney-genera...

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

I was just thinking...between what the article just shared has to say, the question posed by Eric, my questioning how far leftist Mayors/Governors have taken things AGAINST law-abiding citizens.....

Why are leftist Mayors/Governors NOW wringing their hands, talking out of both sides of their mouth, seeming to be at a loss as to how to handle NON-law-abiding Citizens?

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 31, 2020:

Good article.

Sums up, ties together, all that is happening.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on May 31, 2020:

Randy you amaze me. But really I guess society in general amazes me and you fit into that part. Are you saying that you do not understand (I did not say agree with) the arguments that in the general public that the mask itself does very little other than as a reminder.

It just seems like you are sincere that you think a mask in an operation theater is the same as one on the beach.

Which brings us back to the concept of this article. Blind obedience -- not in action but in thought - very scary indeed.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

Thank you Shannon.

Randy can’t help himself. He doesn’t have anything of substance to add, so he insults instead.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 30, 2020:

I should have gone to bed instead of checked my email to see notifications that led me back here tonight.

That was a rude thing to say, Randy. You don't know her daughter. Neither do I, but I have healthcare professionals in my family too. Just because some don't like wearing masks doesn't mean they don't think they are imperative for the protection of their patients as well as themselves. Wearing them in a medical setting or situation is not the same thing as wearing them elsewhere.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

There are many medical professionals who have a BIG problem with the direction this has taken!! You don't know that?

You don't know anything about my daughter, you don't know what her particular job is, you don't know anything about her patients, there is so much you don't know, so don't go there...

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 30, 2020:

So she hates to wear them during surgery and other events when she is protecting the patients. That tells me a lot about her.

My daughter is also a RN and sees the masks as imperative. I didn't realize there was such a disagreement on wearing a mask between medical professionals.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

Randy, my daughter is a Registered Nurse, she hates the masks, doesn't wear them outside of hospital. Would prefer not to wear them at work, says this is the sentiment of most.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

Enjoy that drink Shannon and unwind! Goodnight!!

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 30, 2020:

On that note, I should probably say goodnight. Happy chatting, ya'll. I need a drink or something. LOL

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 30, 2020:

Indeed, why do doctors and nurses wear masks in the first place? They must be stupid! :P

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

It really doesn't make much sense does it?

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 30, 2020:

Gotcha! I wondered if you chose those two color variations for a specific reason.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 30, 2020:

I haven't ever seriously considered mask-wearing as the "new norm," especially as a law. I don't see them as all that effective to the general public or to my family on a daily basis. Medical professionals and the like follow trained procedures while wearing them and removing them, as with all of their other PPE, in order to prevent cross-contamination. If they weren't having to use the same mask over and over again those masks would be properly disposed of between patients.

That said, it is rather scary to think about how ineffective even security cameras could be due to masks.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

Shannon, I brought up ANTIFA, the leftist hate group which is always responsible for mayhem? Their faces are always covered? Wondering how they will stand apart in this new mask-wearing world? Giving them some fashion tips so they will stand out....even more! ;)

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on May 30, 2020:

Here is a fun tidbit of info. Generally in the USA it becomes a felony to commit a misdemeanor while concealing one's identity. (really this was made known during streaking issues ;-) So for instance walking into a bank with a mask and sunglasses is a felony regardless of whether you are going to rob it. It would be trespass and then the concealing of your identity.

You cross state lines to commit mischief and wear a mask doing it is really rather serious. Even if the mischief is only to illegally assemble -- sound like something current? I can arrest you for attending church with a mask?

We have created some rather twisted times. The concealing identity is a duly enacted law part. The mask is just a -- what? Order? Suggestion? Constitutionally violation? We don't even have case law that remotely covers this absurdity of the new normal.

It is now required that if I feloniously burn down your business I must wear gloves, mask and eye protection. The hoody just makes common sense.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 30, 2020:

What did I miss here, Angie? What are masks are you talking about and why the color?

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

Got it! A combination of fuschia and chartreuse.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 30, 2020:

Okay, Eric, I can understand that. You came across as sarcastic to me after your initial comment about giving hits, but I guess I misinterpreted your intentions.

Obviously, the arrest was not broadcast as it was happening. Honestly, I haven't had a desire to watch the full video or to look at pictures so I haven't watched the entire video of it - if there is one. I hate seeing things like that.

The point I made earlier about the live broadcast was in regard to the trouble-makers being from other cities, at least in the Minneapolis area.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

Speaking of hiding their faces, what are they going to do, many on the left (with them) want us all to cover our faces permanently?

I guess we will know them by their actions.... BUT, maybe their masks can all be fuschia...chartreuse...!?

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on May 30, 2020:

Shannon I do not watch TV or viral videos. Maybe I just sound naive. But did they really broadcast this murder into living rooms?

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

I don't know what color ANTIFA 'Team Members' are, they hide their faces. I do know they are a bunch of troublemaking, destructive, too much time on their hands, punks.

Shannon Henry from Texas on May 30, 2020:

I'm not interested in playing games. You asked a straight forward question in the name of sarcasm. If you weren't being sarcastic then you must've had intentions of making some point. I'm just saying skip straight to the point, please.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

Eric, I've heard that he died at the scene, but I've also heard that he died later on. Has more information come out?

I am behind on the news.

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 30, 2020:

I didn't realize ANTIFA was a white supremacist group, AB. :P

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on May 30, 2020:

Sorry ya'll didn't mean to abandon you here.

Went over to the coast today to see the rocket launch, it was pretty spectacular and historic all at the same time.

This officer does have a history, he will get his day in court and justice will be served.

From all that I've heard, George Floyd was good man and didn't deserve this. From all appearances it was over the top, no doubt!!

But, in the meantime, cities are burning, we've all seen this play out before.

Anytime there's an attempt at peaceful protest, ANTIFA and other professional radical groups get involved and yes locals follow their lead, do as they do, act as they act and there goes peaceful protests....there goes the neighborhood!

I feel for George Floyd's loved ones and I feel for the many innocent people whose businesses have been looted or destroyed. It is horrible all the way around.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on May 30, 2020:

Shannon it is straight forward did the mass media evening news show that man being brutally murdered for kids in the living room to see?

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on May 30, 2020:

Yes Eric, the officer kept his knee on the poor guys neck long after he was unconscious. The officer had previous incidents of concern as well. At one point he was calling for his mother...
