It Takes Every Kinda People; So Refuse to Conform, Refuse to be Pushed Aside

Laughter, having and holding onto our sense of humor, really IS the best medicine!

Every Kinda People

Silver Linings

So, there we were, out to dinner, getting away from it all, when I finally took a breath and stopped complaining about the day; masks, mayhem, destruction, people who seem to have a problem with me, although we want the very same things, we just go about it, in different ways...

I took a breath and the song ‘Every Kinda People’ was playing.

I hadn't heard the song in years, it made me smile, took me back and it made me think.

Most of the time, I don't really pay that much attention to background music, but this one happened to come on, while everyone in the restaurant seemed to be taking a breath.....all at the same time!

I had just made a joke about being grateful, we at least, weren't required to keep our masks on while dining, soon to be introduced to some new type of intravenous feeding.

Perish the thought!

Little silver linings seem to come when least expected.

We had a little laugh and then a reminder, via a song, about all of the beautiful people on this beautiful planet...making this world go round.

News headlines, by design, are to grab our attention and not let go!

They are designed to get us worked up, especially agenda-driven media!

We seem to have very little - simple reporting of the news of the day, these days.

There is nothing simple about the agenda-driven machine; it is very calculated, the words chosen ever so carefully to ensure the greatest impact....and do the most harm!

It’s true.

The most negative news tops the list on the Google news which hits my phone, uninvited, each and every morning.

It is up to me to utilize discernment and compartmentalize so that I am not consumed by it.

  • I've included an example. I have been among those questioning the high numbers of COVID-19 currently being reported in my State of Florida; scaring senior citizens, keeping them home! Causing angst among teachers and parents, as we prepare to get kids back in school. All leading to condemnation of every single action of our Republican Governor (well....not so fast, *see below and see for yourself)

There is so much good in this world, I’ve seen it, often.

We’ve all seen it, often.

It isn’t fleeting, it is the norm!

There are also evil forces, attempting to divide us and place barriers between us, much like what restaurants are having to do right now...but these barriers are for deviant reasons and for deceitful purposes.

Every kinda people, go about their lives, living it to the fullest, loving others, doing for others, content with their little slice of this life.

They have no inclination to do harm to others; their lives are too full, there isn't any time or any room or any desire whatsoever, for any of that.

A Time to Heal

Every kinda people, the people previously described, outnumber the troublemakers, the agitators, those that have no real purpose and get used/played by the troublemakers and the agitators, by leaps and bounds.

The instigators numbers are few...but with so many headlines working against us, getting into our heads, seeking to divide us...we start to believe that maybe we are in the minority, when that is not the case. Far from it.

It really is the perfect ploy!

Work to undo a united Country, from the inside out, create the mayhem, incite the violence, utilize photo ops and make it seem larger than if the entirety of the United States is on fire.

See to it that the most damning images make their way around the world.

Have them believe we are torn apart by our very own doing.

Before we know it, it is easy to see that even we may begin to believe something that we know, just isn’t so!

We go through different seasons; the seasons which we experience throughout the year itself and we go through many seasons of our lives.

But, we have been through an unusually cruel season; a virus which caught us off guard and may or may not have been brought about with intent, but, whatever the case, has definitely been utilized against many of us, across this earth. It certainly has been here in the U.S.

Before we could bounce back and get back on our feet from one blow, we were pummeled again, with civil unrest.

Unrest, which I do not believe for an instant, just cropped up!

It was waiting...for such a moment/a time as this, manufactured, by those with ill intent, to hit us while down and while vulnerable!

The season of death and destruction must be put behind us, so that we may enter into a new season, a season of healing!

The majority, the every kinda people, must work together so that it will be so.

Our numbers are great, we aren’t the minority, and with Creator God, we are so much stronger than the evil doer and the doers of evil, as they tediously and unsuspectingly work to pit us one against the other, in order to destroy this country, the Country that so many others, seek to exemplify!

We have no choice, we must get back to allowing, our Country, this magnificent shining city on a hill, to get back to shining, as intended ...for all the world to see!

The refuge, the lighthouse, in the storm!

Liberty’s gate.

If not us, who?

The Cuban defector highlighted in the video below, does a better job answering that question than I ever could.

It will take every kinda people, to bring our Country back from the brink, although pushed there by only a few, it is going to require us, the majority, to take it back!

Thank you Eric, don't you love the song shared, my inspiration?

You just gave me an opportunity to go back and listen to it a few more times! ;)

Always nice to hear from you.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on July 15, 2020:

Nicely done here AB. A good way to begin. I wonder when I will be tolerated by more.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on July 13, 2020:

I hear ya! I have reminders about reminders, so I will be of no assistance whatsoever! LOL!!

Shannon Henry from Texas on July 13, 2020:

I'll try to remember to watch it when I get a chance. Right now, I have work to do. I should try to stay focused on that before I forget to go certify this letter before the post office closes. Remind me if I forget. ;)

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on July 13, 2020:

I agree! :)

If you get a chance, I've just added a powerful video to this article. I also shared it on Facebook, asking everyone to share it with everyone they know, but share it with their children and grandchildren. I hope that you will too.

Grab a tissue.

I should've said that the conversation continued in private was the pleasant one I was having with the friend who didn't post. I didn't bother confronting the person who deleted us because it was her post and her prerogative, but it still annoyed me because, like you said, we should be able to disagree without devaluing someone else. Especially when I wasn't rude in the slightest and I thought it was just general discussion, not some big life-changing agenda.

No, you and I haven't always agreed, but we do the majority of the time and our differences in opinion aren't so great that I'd ever feel like I couldn't call you a friend. Besides, I think life would be boring if everyone agreed on everything. If my friends thought like me 100%, how boring would conversation eventually become? Sometimes a difference in perspective is just what we need to learn and grow.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on July 13, 2020:

Thank you Shannon!

It has always been where when in disagreement; you talk it out, work it through, may end up in the end at an impasse, agreeing to disagree, but that's how it works.

Otherwise, how do you go forward...can you go forward with the next conversation, the next chance meeting, etc.?

It does seem that we have gotten to the point, that only full agreement with another person is required, otherwise your message/input is not considered or valued.

You and I haven't always agreed on one ever does, we aren't clones, drones or Stepford wives, we are each unique to the other, every kinda people, right? :)

We have our back and forth, sometimes agreeing, sometimes not agreeing and then we move on.

Thanks for reading and commenting, I appreciate you very much!

I love this message, Angie. I'd had it up to my eyeballs with people on social media lately. And then yesterday, I found myself having a civil discussion with one friend on another friend's post. We were only in slight disagreement and it wasn't an unpleasant conversation - until the friend who made the post in the first place put her disagreeing two cents in rather firmly. Ok. No problem. Except that when I simply said "I'll agree to disagree" (because I know how over the top sensitive she can be) and left it at that, she deleted our conversation. I opted to continue it in private messenger, which was fine. I was just super-annoyed that she'd just delete the entire exchange all because we were considering other explanations for what was happening in a video clip of someone's bad behavior in public. But that's the problem, we see bits and pieces of life all over the news and the internet and we simply do not know the full story most of the time. It could very well be exactly what it appears to be, but appearances can also be deceiving.

Anyway, this is a good reminder to keep positive and to keep faith in humanity.
