Is the United States Imploding From Inside? Joe Biden and the Democrats Have a Big Hand in This.

MG is a keen political observer and commentator who has a ringside seat to the turbulent years of the present political scenario

The United States ended World War II as the most powerful nation in the world. The foundation of this great power was laid by Roosevelt. Just after the war, the USA was so rich and strong that it started the famous Marshall plan to bail out the economies of its allies in particular the countries in western Europe. Unfortunately, seven decades later the USA is imploding from the inside aided by leadership that lacks vision and is concentrating on settling scores with its perceived opponents. An impeachment trial of the previous president Donald Trump has started. Even to a novice, it will be apparent that this is like flogging the dead horse and the repercussions are terrible because all said and done this man got 70 million votes. This has led to greater polarization and so many GOP senators are talking of a vote by 'conscience.'

Biggest destabilizer

Many claim the previous president tried to destabilize the American nation. Many of them deliberately ignore the fact that the biggest destabilizer in the world was the United States and it carried out its policy of destabilization for the last seven decades with a vengeance that is difficult to match.

At the same time, the American leadership from Johnson, Kissinger, and Nixon followed by presidents from the time of Clinton to Obama thought that they could make merry in the world if they placated China and mollycoddled it. Many historians in Asia wonder how American president Johnson committed American troops in Vietnam in a lost cause(in any case they were defeated), ignoring the nuclearization of China. In 1964, China was a dragon without fire and teeth and it was a simple thing to knock out the Chinese nuclear testing facilities but the advisers of Lyndon Johnson did not think it appropriate and now the USA is paying for that folly.

I fail to understand what was the American thinking at that time. What the thinking was, further accentuated by the duo of Kissinger and Nixon who formulated the policy to wean China away from Russia and assumed that China would become their ally. This was fallacious thinking and when I think about it I can't help feeling that I could die laughing on a bed of nails.

America had the stage to itself and it set out a route to a destabilizing process all over the world. It began to ring the Soviet union with bases and nuclear missiles. At the same time, it supported military dictatorships that suppressed their own people like in Pakistan, Egypt, South Vietnam, Iran, and Chile. It carried out coups and assassinations galore. I could enumerate at least 100 of them but then people can go to the net and read about them.

The clue

This was reckless living and it was bound to have repercussions. The only way the Americans could be defeated was if they imploded because they were so economically strong. Even after having been defeated in Vietnam and failing to win the Korean War they still dominated the world. Great empires of world history from the Ottoman Empire to the Russian Empire, the Mughal Empire, and the British Empire, were not defeated in a military war but imploded. This is the clue to the future of America, an implosion from inside and that is precisely what is happening with the present incumbent Joe Biden at the head. I will state that Biden is only the end process as the earlier presidents who I had mentioned had laid the foundation of this implosion.

The economy

One of the clues to the inclusion of a country is the economy and the second is the cohesiveness of the people. Let us look first at the economy. America at the moment has the largest economy in the world but a lot of it is mortgaged. In addition, America has to fund 140 military bases all over the world. At a conservative estimate, this is a big drag on the American economy. Earlier it did not matter but now it is beginning to pinch as the trade deficit with China is $600 billion.

A look at the American economy convinces me that the downturn commenced in 1970 this was the time the de Jure segregation ended. We don’t need to debate the precise date, call it when you will. One can take it as 1971 when segregated school buses were struck down by the Supreme Court. And it tells us a very powerful truth about life, economics, and America.

Up to1970, slavery, through segregation, the US economy’s capital had a ready-made supply of cheap labor. This ended. Now capital had to pay higher costs. How did the economy respond?

It simply shifted from exploiting one group of people to exploiting everyone as much as it could. Capitalism began to show its real face and now we have seen that one capitalist sits in America and dictates who will remain on Facebook or other social sites. I am referring to the banning of Donald Trump from the sites. Nothing could be more shortsighted than this and yet the Dems now in power are thinking that by holding a kangaroo trial of the ex-president, they are doing a good thing, not realizing that they are dividing the country further. As I have written, earlier it was a racial division but now along with the racial division, we have a division among the white population itself.

A manifestation of this is that 25,000 soldiers were put on guard duty for the swearing-in of Joe Biden.

Mahatma Gandhi, the great Indian leader had said that a man who leads the nation must be above suspicion. Can we say the same for Joe Biden? no wonder he appears soft on China and is again beating the drum against Russia. He and his vice president are talking of human rights in Kashmir but they don't talk about human rights in Tibet and the Muslims of Sinkiang, where a big genocide is being committed and as per the latest reports, the Muslim women are facing the worst form of humiliation and exploitation one can think of.

The economy is almost mortgaged to China. The US debt to China was $1.07 trillion in July 2020. That's more than 15% of the $7 trillion in Treasury bills, notes, and bonds held by foreign countries. China is also the biggest exporter in the world much ahead of the United States which has now become a net importer. Along with this is the liability the United States has taken on itself off maintaining bases and trying to be the world's policeman. Trump had realized this problem and was downsizing operations outside the USA but Biden is going to the whole hog back to what it was earlier and that is going to sink the American economy further.

Internal divide and the end

The battle lines between groups of people of the same sect were not there before 1970, where generally the majority was unified. The colored man at the time didn't matter as he had very little say. I can say nothing much has changed even now because I give you an example; out of the 41 top generals of the US Army, only two are black, though the blacks constitute a very large percentage of the US Army. Earlier it was only a racial divide but now even the whites are divided. One group would like the old superiority to continue, they are the extreme right and there is another sizable group that would like to put history behind and try and get the blacks into the mainstream.

The problem is the Democratic Party is accentuating the divide not only in the race but also among the whites. This is not something that can be brushed under the carpet and has the portent of an implosion, which is already on the way. The attack on Capitol Hill and almost frequent rioting by the blacks on trivial matters is not a good omen for the country. A leader was needed who could heal the problem but unfortunately, Joe Biden is not that man and America has now gone down the tunnel too far to pull back.

The American dream of partnering with China has sunk like a stone and China has made it very clear that it will be the number one power in the world. The US allies of Western Europe are now aging and the fertility of their women is so low that they are unable to sustain the population which is essential for great power status. They look like old men already on their last legs dependent on China.

So shortsighted has been the US policy that they have driven Russia into the Chinese arms and they have now formed a monolithic block that is going to test America to the extreme. It is not going to be easy with a population that is divided and you have the ingredients of not only an implosion but the end of the American domination of the world.

I may sound pessimistic but I am not, because history can always throw up a great leader and America can hope that somebody will come in 2024, to catch the bull by the horns.

It, doesn't seem to matter what political party they are from ! Each party has had presidents that Imploded the economy for the middle class and the poor! The rich seem to only get richer and the poor poorer. Now even the middle class are losing out to the rich ! Fact is the government panders to the rich and tries to placate the rest of us !

Corporate power has corrupted government ! Slavery has always been `and it seems always will be the backbone of the economy ! President Obama knew this , since taking his oath of office ! He even warned people with the very words that came out of his mouth during that oath !

MG Singh emge (author) from Singapore on February 09, 2021:

Thank you Chris, you have made valid observations. I also read the article by Judd.America faces myriad problems and I wonder who is going to solve them. Chances are they won't be solved and that will lend impetus to implosion.

I always enjoy your analysis of these global, USA, and political situations, MG. Your concerns and observations are well-founded.

CHRIS57 from Northern Germany on February 09, 2021:

I read the headline and my first guess was that your article was about economic and social issues inside the US. My guess was wrong.

Looks like you have problems with China and you project China to be a cause for the American downturn and the new Biden administration not fighting the Chinese influence.

Please allow me to see it the other way around. I tend to agree that the US is imploding from the inside, from its internal social, racial, inequality, economic, industrial, you name it issues. These problems allow foreign countries to gain more influence on the world in general and on the US in particular. The "active" destructive part is inside the US, the "reactive" part are countries on our planets and some new big boys like China.

The real threat IMHO is well expressed in the opinion piece from Judd Gregg:

This is an interesting article, and I do not approve these big tech companies silencing individuals due to their political beliefs.

I do think the economy is a big problem. Also, gas prices have risen.I think China may be a big problem, and your article gave us a lot of facts to consider. I would like everyone to get along, but not at the expense of a certsin class of people. A lot to think about, MG.

We just keep on keeping on here in the U.S. I don't recall a time in my life when there wasn't some major issue tearing us apart, only to find we are still in one piece, tattered but holding firm.

It's always a fascinating read when I stop by your site.

You have to understand, this goes back to the founding. The civil war. The essence of America.

We may not have ever lived up to the words they wrote, but we are not done trying.

This insurrection is a continuation of the old civil war. The confederacy never United with the Union, they just went underground.

And, these people....the Nazis, are worldwide.

Check the rhetoric, it’s the same all over. China is not the problem here. We despise their human rights record......but then, ours isn’t that great, Russia’s sucks, and Israel’s is no better.

However.....Israel is holding Netanyahu accountable. We must hold Trump, inc accountable, too. There are protests against Trump-like leaders all over the globe.

This is a new renaissance, not the Neo Nazi era.

We will rise, and we will bury the past. Have faith!
