I Miss My Radio Friend, Rush Limbaugh

God Bless America, Land that I Love, Stand beside her and guide her, thru the night, with a Light from above...

That Big Booming Voice on the AM Dial

Perhaps for those of you on the left, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez is 'your Rush Limbaugh', her voice is the voice you stop and take note of. Maybe it's not AOC at all, perhaps it's the slow talking Al Gore or Barack, Mr. Fundamental Transformation himself, Obama, who keeps you on your toes and makes you think.

It could possibly be Nancy Pelosi for you, she seems to be a superstar in your circle, as she is invited back over and over again, there must be something special about her!

Someone on the radio?

Haven't heard the names of any big radio stars who lean left, but I am sure they're out there in radio land.

I have no idea where the left finds their inspiration, but from what I have been hearing from some and coming across {quite by accident}, since the passing of Rush Limbaugh, maybe it's not found in any single individual at all, perhaps it is found in the suffering of others!

Maybe for you unique individuals, kicking a family while they are down, showing people like me, his fans, just how low you can go, is what inspires you, makes your day, keeps you going...

Now that I have that out of the way -

For me, as a conservative, Rush inspired me; from the first time I heard his big booming voice over the radio waves, until his last show, when the boom wasn't as big, but his words were just as powerful and never ceased to boom!

He would often lift my spirits all while making me feel a little guilty for opting to focus on the negatives, rather than the positives.

He made me laugh out loud, he had me thinking outside the box, I was continually learning something new...

and if I had a buck for every time I said...yes, Ditto, right?...when Maha Rushie would be saying what I had just been thinking...I'd be a wealthy woman!

He had a sense of humor and a personality that many could not get past, but I had him figured out early on and I so appreciated his quick wit, his tongue-in-cheek sarcasm and his unique El Rushbo style.

I would tell those who refused to listen to him, listened only once or heard something taken completely out of context...whatever the case, to give him a week (maybe two) and they would come to love him too.

At the very least, they would have a whole new perspective, quite the opposite of what the nasty and naive left, constantly presented!

My Introduction to Rush

Three decades ago, my husband came home from work and said, "there's this guy on the radio, you have to listen to him!"

I did tune in, I did listen and I continued to listen over the years

He was so refreshing because there weren’t any other conservative voices out there.

The News was becoming more political commentary than anything else, spun a certain direction and skewed that same the left, for as far back as I can remember.

Never as bad as present day, but thank you God, millions of us had Rush Limbaugh!

Here was this guy who thought as we thought, with a big radio voice, sitting behind a golden microphone {literally}

He was funny, entertaining, engaging, full of knowledge and talent which he often described as, "on loan from God."

From the first time I heard his name, I have always had the good fortune of being able to tune in; whether home with my kids, having a job where I traveled by car and could listen or for the past twenty years or so, working in our family business.

The loss of Rush has been comparable to losing an Uncle, a dear friend, a favorite Teacher...a favorite teacher who I had the honor and privilege to study under for decades.

The One and Only

I am not the only student of Rush, there are many. There's immense young (and not so young) talent out there and they credit Rush Limbaugh for their career path.

Many are in radio, television, social media, print...all of the above!

So many lives have been touched, changed, helped, because Rush cared to make a difference!

He hosted a telethon for Leukemia and Lymphoma every year and sold Betsy Ross merchandise, in which all proceeds would go to the 'Tunnels to Tower' foundation.

A foundation which pays off the home mortgage of the families of fallen heroes, both military and law enforcement officers.

Just between these two...and there were countless others, he raised millions and millions of dollars.

Also, he would always match donations in the radio telethons he did annually.

He was a good man!

He was a man of deep faith, he adored this Country, his family and his radio audience and he lived life to its fullest and never seemed to lose his zest for life, even through his many battles and struggles.

There's only one Rush Limbaugh and he will be missed.

Godspeed Rush!

Although it would impossible to replace him, I've been listening to a couple of students of the late, great Rush Limbaugh, who have taken over his radio spot and are doing an exceptional job!

I must admit, it took me a while to be able to tune back in, but I'm glad that I did.

If you haven't checked out these guys yet, it's the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.

I am a talk radio junkie. Rush was the Lion King of talk radio, no doubt about it!

Love the pic! :)

I never listen to talk radio, but I loved when the news would play one of Rush's blurbs--I loved his forthrightness and the balance he brought to our out-of-control culture. What a courageous man! We need more lions like him.
