I Had To Get One Last Word In About This Election: A Letter To Americans

Missy is a unique writer who enjoys inviting her readers into her thoughts through her poetry and other topics of discussion.

The Reason I Had To Voice My Opinion One Last Time

Yesterday, I found myself having some very aggravating discussions with people I never cared to have a discussion with, in the first place. Then I came back to my own Facebook page to vent a little, and I will admit that my tone was anger. So, I did say exactly how I felt about this situation we are in right now with this election, and believe me, I still do not apologize for that. I am extremely tired of seeing support for a most disgusting uneducated man for President, and I'm being nice in that description. However, trust me, I will not be so amiable as this little note of mine continues. Make no mistake, it's not that I care if you don't like Hillary; I, myself, am not the biggest fan of hers. Even so, some must have liked her a lot more than they liked Bernie, because she is the one on the ballot.

Let's Look At Hillary Shall We

Therefore, these are the two we have ended up with. These are the candidates’ voters must now decide about, and hey; I've always been fine with a divisive output, even if I thought the person who won was not the right choice. It never concerned me to a point of angst. Nevertheless, People, the game has changed this year when you add this type of person in on the ticket to run this country such as a Donald Trump. Granted, Hillary has a few scandalous question marks surrounding her, but at least she has knowledge of what it takes to run this country, and as of yet, we have not seen any type of proof or actions that has taken away from her abilities and qualifications for this job. However, I want to play fair, and as I will list some of Trump’s scandals; I suppose it only right I list the ones we hear on a constant basis of Hillary’s. Here goes…

Last and Certainly Least; Donald Trump

Then, we have Donald. Ugh! My body gets tired just thinking about how bad he could screw up the world. If you think, people in this world are already stressed and fight anxiety along with depression-just wait. If this THING wins we will be killing each other left and right. Suicides will be on the rise, and races will be at war like they never have been before. Pretty much, you will have voted the Devil in. Christians, you were taught to keep that devil away, and you are the main ones letting him in. How is he the devil you may ask? Let me list the ways! And I say that with the biggest deep breath in and out, shaking my limbs to loosen up, because that's what it takes when I have to spit out all the atrocities that make up Donald Trump! I’ll go ahead and admit; I will not be able to list them all, but here goes! I’ll give it my best shot!

  • He urged protestors to beat up reporters at his rallies.
  • He makes fun of disabilities.
  • He has stated that women should be punished for having abortions even if it was a life-saving issue.
  • He says we should deport all immigrants, and Muslims.
  • He calls Mexicans rapists and murderers, and suggests all Muslims terrorists.
  • He will not deny receiving support from the KKK and the Russian President.
  • He refuses to release his tax returns and admits he has used the government system to evade them. He calls it smart on his part!
  • He has been known not to pay his bills, and he has shafted hard-working people who have done jobs for him.
  • He constantly degrades women by calling them pigs, and laughing about grabbing women by the….well you know!
  • The worst one yet; He rapes 13-year-old little girls and will go on trial for that.
  • It was recently discovered that he indeed had ties with the mob and lied about that as well.
  • The scariest of all; he refuses to rule out using nuclear weapons to take down ISIS…

Pictures Tell A Thousand Stories

  • He claims he spent 102 million dollars to charities, but no proof can be found, but there is proof he took money from his own charity to buy a six ft. painting of himself.
  • He has hired a suspicious number of advisers who have done work on behalf of Vladimir Putin.
  • He has been a plaintiff in at least 1,900 lawsuits and a defendant in 1,500 more give or take.
  • He has disrespected and insulted the gold star family of Captain Khan.

And I am exhausted folks, but there is so much more of his documented antics. It’s insanely ridiculous.

My Bottom Line

I do not want to make enemies, but being a mom to a daughter and a young son, both whom I want to grow up with respectable values; I could not sit by with all the hateful words of this man. They don't watch news much, but they don't have to. It is all over the Internet and when my son plays his game with his friends; I've even had to stop some controversy from hateful little kids. No, I don't blame them. I blame the parents, but I would like to give an example of what a future kid will grow up to be under Donald Trump.

This is the conversation as I heard it between my ten-year-old son and a few other boys his age.

Scroll to Continue

My son: Shut up, I like Mexicans!

The other boys: Well, Donald Trump is going to build that wall and keep those Mexicans out!

My son: (almost crying) You better shut up! I will blow that wall up!

Me: Alright, that is enough. Get off the game for tonight. (consoling my son)

Now, if you tell me after that list I posted that you cannot deny, and the story I just told you, that we will not be in trouble with a President elect like Donald Trump, all I can say is I'll pray for you!!

I am done.

Oh yes, MizB, I get everything you just said. I'm a single mom raising two children on a low income budget. I'm scared to death of a Trumped-up world. Accompanied with all those lovely respectable values he possesses for women and children. It's just really hard to swallow that anyone with daughters could vote for his nastiness!

I try to figure this out all the time; is it just Republicans are trying to stay loyal to their party? Is it that crucial to do so that you would ignore the list above that would take me probably a week to finish? Add with that the fact that this dummy has no grasp on political policies and how to better them for the welfare of American citizens?

I wasn't going to comment anymore. I'm doing my best not to voice anything else. It does no good when it comes to his supporters. I really am tired of sinking to their level. However, that old familiar question I've heard people so rudely ask others through the years does seem to stick in my mind, and since I've sunk a time or two to these silly peoples level I may as well just ask it. So, this is for all you Trump supporters out there; Are you deaf, dumb, AND blind, or are you just that BRAINDEAD to reality?!

Missy Out! PEACE (Microphone drops)

Doris James MizBejabbers from Beautiful South on November 05, 2016:

Hear, hear! Missy. I voted for the first time in the 1964 Presidential campaign, and I must say that it was a crazy one, but this one this year takes the cake! I've never seen anything so rabble rousing and downright dirty. I voted early and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Hillary. Can you imagine Donald Trump actually telling voters to go change their votes for him? Only about six states allow a voter to change a vote, so that isn't likely to change anything.

Aside from Trump's finger on the nuke button, what scares us older people is that Trump wants to do away with Social Security. And he wants to do away with income tax deductions. Neither would affect him because he is filthy rich and doesn't pay taxes anyway, but can you imagine what it would do to the rest of us.

BTW, doing away with tax deductions would break the country because all owners of rental property would drop it like a hot rock, even if it meant giving their property back to the bank. That would be a real estate fiasco bigger than 2008, which would break the banks. Then his company could buy up all the prime real estate and he would physically own America. There would be no rental property unless you rented from Trump. Get it? Apparently most people do not. Anyway, it makes my blood boil. I'm done!

To all others that want to comment, do feel free, but I may not reply. Paula and Bill are friends, and I wanted to reply back, but I want to leave this now. Whatever will be will be. I hope I have woken up some though! :) God be with us all at this point!

Missy Smith (author) from Florida on November 04, 2016:

Well Paula, I will be honest with you and Bill both. No, it doesn't make me feel better. However, in saying that; nothing is going to make me FEEL BETTER at this point! You may ask if I feel bad for stating the facts so LOUD? NO, I DON'T... not anymore. Because, whether or not I feel better, my morals haven't changed my whole life. At the same time, It does make me angry that I have had to lower my morals in order to make a point!

As you said, I have, indeed, voiced in the past, that I haven't contributed to the political hoopla of the elections. However, I have also said this is not like any other election, and Donald Trump is not like any other candidate. He is an unqualified person for this job in a ZILLION ways! I did list a lot of those clearly, right?? You must forgive me. I got exhausted and couldn't continue to keep on typing. Even so, I think I made a valid list that can't be disputed. It would be fun to see someone try I suppose. LOL.

This is where this Presidential election has forced me out of humbleness to fight for morals and values, I have had all my 45 years of life. I may not have been around as long as you yet, Paula, but I hope you are not trying to insult my intelligence by insinuating that I don't know my history? I don't remember learning or experiencing this type of election EVER! You may correct me on that if you feel you can. I don't think you will find any child rapists or KKK supporters that ran for office though. Lincoln drew the line when it came to that, and he has been dead almost 200 years. I will put a quote here of his that I like to this day though... "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." ~Abraham Lincoln

Whether this idiot is voted into the Presidency or not, I am going to attempt to wake up the world to whatever trance they are in when it comes to this bigot! And no, I am not feeling bad about saying all this now. I didn't start these social wars. Guess who did though? Hint: First initial starts with D. last initial starts with A. oh sorry...T. LOL

I think I have really good character traits, and it has pained me that I have had to get this upset about this election. It's about character for me, and I'm not saying Hillary has a great one of those, but it is damn sure better than the other. She certainly, at least, has the temperament and knowledge for this job. For the most part, I have done no worse than anyone else in stating facts. I cannot help that those facts are this disgusting when it comes to A**HOLE! I'm sorry; I mean Trump. I keep forgetting his last name!

I am happy for you that you have found no problem keeping the election discussion under wraps around your close friends and family; however, some of us just haven't been that lucky. I have gone through sad times about that, and by gosh, it's time for me to have my mad times about that! I SEE IT ONLY GETTING WORSE IN A TRUMPED-UP WORLD!

Suzie from Carson City on November 04, 2016:

Hello Missy....Like Bill, I too hope this political purge has made you feel better. Now & then everyone needs to shed what tends to bother them.

This is so different from your usual work, I was very surprised to see it. I know that way back when this circus all began, you made it clear that you have never been political nor even kept up with what goes on in our world of corrupt politicians. I see you've had a change of heart. It's pretty brutal, but the fact is, it's simply the way it is.....this election obviously much more so than those in the past. However, some past elections have been just as crazy.

For those of us much older, who have been very involved and in tune with American politics over the past 40 yrs, opinions are pretty much 'intense." Tolerance for blatant corruption wanes quite a bit. This accounts for the back & forth between those with stark opposing views. After X number of elections through the years, we accept that this occurs, whether we like it or not.

Personally, I refuse to argue with family or close friends. That is something I make a point to steer clear of. I don't have a problem discussing and/or debating with others (basic strangers to me) but at the end of the day, as I'm sure you're beginning to see, people hold quite firmly to their own beliefs. So yes, this makes it all fairly futile, doesn't it.

I am a registered Independent and have made my stance clear numerous times. I have no love lost for either candidate but one I have an impenetrable, fierce aversion to. Thank goodness we live in America where all are free to choose.

Hang in there Missy! is nearly over with! Phew! But a word to the wise: The "after" conversations will last for quite a while too!...We can always choose to ignore it all....Lord knows it's a good thing this happens only every 4 years! Four years to heal in between!! (My very dearest friend and I couldn't be more different in our what do we do? When we're together we do not speak a single WORD about it!!! It works. LOL)

Take care. Peace, Paula

Missy Smith (author) from Florida on November 04, 2016:

Hey Bill, this one was my last say. I decided after having a few discussions that absolutely gave me a headache, that I am just sick of it all, and maybe I should just bluntly spell that out and then brush my shoulders off. Lol

Maybe no one has said anything to this one because the sheer in your face of it. I don't know if anyone that has really and truly kept up with this election; all the debates and scandals and Donald's ridiculous rants of it, could deny anything I posted here.

It's sad it has come to such a division. This election has pitted family member against family member and friend against friend. And I just don't understand why? It seems pretty in your face common sense to me. However, I guess Trump supporters somehow feel the same way. It astounds me though! Lol.

Thank you! You are a great friend and support for me here on HP. :)

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on November 04, 2016:

Well I certainly hope you feel better. :) I'm a bit surprised there aren't any nasty comments on this one. Usually the sharks are swimming close by just waiting for a political or religious hub.

I agree with everything you wrote. I'll just be glad to have this election over with. The nastiness has been far too much for me.

Happy Friday, Missy!
