1. R. Kelly sentenced to 30 years in prison

According to the Wednesday, June 29, 2022 Broadcast of World News Tonight with David Muir, former superstar singer R. Kelly has been found guilty on charges of both racketeering and sex trafficking.

  • R. Kelly has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
  • He has already been held without bail for the past three years.

2. Cassidy Hutchinson

Cassidy Hutchinson is a former Top Aide to former President Trump's former Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows. Her office had been on the same floor as President Trump's main office in the White House. Her claims seem to indicate that she knows President Trump well when President Trump himself said that he barely knew her at all.

  • Cassidy Hutchinson testified in court hearings about the January 6th riots/ insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC.
  • Cassidy Hutchinson stated in testimony that President Trump wanted to go to the Capitol on January 6th and became irate when he was told no. The motorcade was going back to the West Wing of the White House.
  • Cassidy Hutchinson claims that President Trump even grabbed for the steering wheel of the vehicle taking him back to the White House.


3. Americans held captive

Some Americans who chose to show their support by going to fight alongside Ukranians in the war in Ukraine have reportedly been held captive by the Russian opposition forces.

4. Migrants being smuggled into the United States - Migrant Death Toll Rises

Deceased migrants were found in a tractor trailer on the side of the road in San Antonio, Texas. They reportedly passed away due to heat stroke and exhaustion. Organ failure begins at 109 degrees F. Monitors were placed on the victims to check for signs of life. Survivors were taken to the hospital for treatment but the death toll that was previously reported at 51 has climbed to 53.

  • As 53 people have now died, this is the most catastrophic incident of its kind in United States history.
  • Flowers have been left at a memorial for the victims.
  • Unprecedented numbers of migrants are crossing the Southwest border of the United States.
  • Some critics are blaming the Biden administration for not enforcing immigration laws.
  • Some individuals are saying that this tragedy should not be politicized.

5. Dr. Anthony Fauci

Dr. Anthony Fauci who has been a chief advisor for the United States regarding the Coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic is 81 years old at this time. Dr. Fauci is currently recovering from a rebound case of COVID.

6. Bison attack

A victim has been attacked by a bison in Yellowstone Park.

7. The Stanley Cup

The large and coveted Stanley Cup trophy intended for the champions in U.S. hockey, was mistakenly delivered to the wrong place in Colorado. The Stanley Cup was delivered to the neighbors of the intended recipient but the problem was quickly resolved.

8. Corporal Woody Williams

Corporal Woody Williams, the last World War II Medal of Honor recipient has passed away at the age of 98.

Corporal Woody Williams received the Medal of Honor from President Harry Truman in 1945.
