In New York, a law that has been on the books for 109 years is being overturned.

It regards the 2nd Amendment Constitutional right to bear arms.

After obtaining a gun license to own a gun, New Yorkers will no longer be required to present a special case for their right to conceal carry a weapon.

This will make it easier for private citizen gun owners to carry their weapons for self defense in public spaces such as on transportation, possibly.

Concerned residents

The idea of a lot of people carrying weapons in the subway system has concerned residents reeling.

The mayor of New York City and the Governor of New York State are both currently opposed to this change in legislature.

The NYC mayor said we can't allow New York City to become "the wild, wild west."

U.S. President Joe Biden has also expressed his disappointment.

In Manhattan, some New York residents interviewed on the streets expressed concerns and fears for their safety, regarding the possibility of more New Yorkers walking around with concealed weapons in very densely populated New York.

3. "Top Dog"

The news broadcast also made mention of the "top dog" late in the broadcast. A four year old bloodhound dog named Trumpet has won the Westminster Dog Show. It is the first time that a dog that is of the bloodhound dog breed is winning in the history of the show.
