1. "The fist bump seen around the world"

THE FIST BUMP SEEN AROUND THE WORLD


Many people are angered and frustrated with US President Joe Biden's fist bump with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Upon arriving in Saudi Arabia, President Biden cordially returned the Crown Prince's welcoming gesture.

The problem is that many people see this figure in Saudi Arabia as an enemy, most specifically because they see him as responsible for the death of Journalist Khashoggi.

The woman that Khashoggi had plans to marry took to social media including Twitter to voice her disappointment about President Biden's cordial interaction with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.

President Biden

President Biden says that he is sorry that some people "feel that way", including Journalist Khashoggi's fiancee.

President Joe Biden insists that he does not regret this visit to Saudi Arabia where there were meetings to discuss regional security and to solicit Saudi Arabia for more oil.

President Biden says that Saudi Arabia will help Americans that are paying for fuel at the gas pump by lowering the prices of gas for their vehicles. He says that American can expect to see the lower prices in the coming weeks.

2. Ivana Trump's cause of death

In the news broadcast for yesterday, July 14, 2022, it was announced that Ivana Trump has died. She was found unresponsive at the bottom of the stairs at her Manhattan, New York apartment. Ivana Trump was pronounced dead at the scene.

In today's broadcast of World News Tonight With David Muir (Friday, July 15, 2022), it was announced that a New York medical examiner has determined that Ivana Trump's cause of death was blunt force trauma to the torso caused by a fall. Ivana Trump likely fell down this flight of stairs.

3. Jayland Walker

JAYLAND WALKER


An Ohio medical examiner has determined that Jayland Walker's body had 46 gunshot wounds.

Jayland Walker, a 25 year old Black man in Ohio was shot at by eight police officers that were pursuing him in an attempted traffic stop. He was unarmed at the time that he exited his car and began running on foot. The police officers stated that they began shooting when Jayland Walker stopped running and turned towards them.

4. Tops Supermarket in Buffalo, New York

TOPS SUPERMARKET IN BUFFALO, NEW YORK


A Tops supermarket that had been the scene of a mass shooting has now re-opened. White supremacist Peyton Gendrin targeted this supermarket as a mass shooter wanting to kill as many Black people as possible. He shot and killed ten Black people at this site. He has since been indicted on 27 counts of hate crimes.

This Tops Supermarket location, which is the only large supermarket in its area has now been fully remodeled and re-opened to continue to serve the community. A moment of silence was taken at the re-opening.

A fugitive drug kingpin has be captured in Mexico.

6. New Russian attacks on civilians

NEW RUSSIAN ATTACKS ON CIVILIANS


There have been new Russian attacks on civilians in Ukraine with the eastern Ukraine city of Dnipro being the latest target.

7. Jim Thorpe

JIM THORPE


Jim Thorpe was

  • The first Native American man in history to win an Olympic medal for the United States.
  • He was stripped of his Olympic medal when he accepted paying work in minor league sports.
  • He did not know that this was not allowed.
  • Now, 110 years later, the International Olympic Committee has posthumously reinstated Jim Thorpe as the sole Olympic gold medal winner for his sporting events.
