Guily Until Proven Innocent

I feel compelled to write this Hub because there are some strange resonances going on in the public discourse today, which mirror the strange experience of myself and another blogger back in 2006-07.

At the time, there was a murder trial here on Cape Cod, and many people, myself and this blogger included, know that they have convicted an innocent man. We are sure of it to our bones. As sure as we know day from night.

Court House for Chris’s Trial

Crazy On Ice

Well, this other blogger began writing blogs on a local web-site defending this man, and I started to join her. And that's when the craziness began. You see this craziness now--the smearing and defaming of people who take a stand against something someone else doesn't like. It quicky turns into down and dirty assaults on character, and personal attacks. You find yourself wondering "why?" Why is it they cannot discuss the issues without resorting to these sort of tactics?

In our case, we believe we were being attacked to deflect attention away from the real murderers. You know-- make us look like kooks for even asking questions. Make us look crazy, so no one would pay us any mind.

Remain Silent

Anyway, the blogging began to take on a surreal, insane flavor. Like these people were really quite insane! If only I could copy here for you some of their posts, you would be amazed. Incoherant ranting, talk of incest and rape in the family, baby-talk suddenly switching to wild accusations and vicious attacks...it was like veering off into a parallel universe where down is up and up is down. And the odd thing was, no one seemed to notice, no one seemed to care! It was bizarre.

My friend--for we became friends from this-- was accused of having an arsenal of guns stockpiled in her basement. We were told we belonged in a mental institution, told we had gone to the prison and made a porno movie with the convicted man, told we were planning to break him out of there and flee the country. My friend's mother was ill at the time, and they told her they hoped her mother choked on her own vomit and died.

Could It Be?

They Used the Word Diddle

But by far the worst for me was when I was told I took my grandkids up to the prison so they could have sex with the convict. Now, this really made my blood boil. First of all, why so over -the top? And second of all...who thinks this way? Why would that thought even enter someone's mind? But when I went on the web-site and asked how people could defend this kind of talk...most people didn't care!

The two of us were out there on our own, subject to the only thing I can describe as psychotic behavior.

Flash-forward to today....and I see the same behavior coming from the tea-bag Republican crowd. Totally psychotic behavior. Wild accusations, out-of-bounds name-calling, and all meant to cut to the bone...to slice at our deepest hurts, our deepest wounds. Hitting where they know it hurts the most.

And why? What is the reason that a rational debate is not possible? What are they afraid of?

Justice Denied

It can't be the same thing our detractor's feared: prosecution for their crimes.... President Obama has already said he is moving forward, not looking back. The criminals are safe.

It can't be that they honestly believe the things they are saying, because many of the things they are against now were Republican ideas to begin with!

But it can be to deflect attention, and thereby diffuse any guilt. It can be to escape scrutiny of themselves by pointing the finger somewhere else. It can be to make us forget their part in this wrong and thereby convince us they can make it right.

And it can be to ruin any chance we have at turning the tide away from money and back at the people again...like it used to be, even in my short life-time.

Age Old MO

Of course

Of course

Stochastic Terror

Whatever the reasons, this psychotic behavior cannot be sustained. Someone is going to get seriously wounded or worse from their violent rhetoric, or people are going to start turning against them for their insane Obama Derangement Syndrome. Either way, it's a lose-lose situation for them.

And as my friend the blogger tells me all the time: What goes around comes around. Careful you don't drown the baby with the bath-water!

Look, ma!

Justice Denied

As Thomas Jefferson said, "A prosecutor who alleges enough wrong doing will always get a conviction." Former U.S. Attorney General Robert H. Jackson said, "If the prosecutor is obliged to choose his cases, it follows that he can choose his defendants. Therein is the most dangerous power..."

Outer Silence

Man Who Knows

Here is the web-site of a man who is intimately connected to this case, and experienced cointelpro harrassment because of it. He also, knows that Christopher McCowen did not commit this crime.

It takes more than one man alone to stop Well-Organized and fully supported PURE EVIL.

Imagine If You Are Innocent.....

By Chris Hedges

If, as Fyodor Dostoevsky wrote, “the degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons” then we are a nation of barbarians. Our vast network of federal and state prisons, with some 2.3 million inmates, rivals the gulags of totalitarian states. Once you disappear behind prison walls you become prey. Rape. Torture. Beatings. Prolonged isolation. Sensory deprivation. Racial profiling. Chain gangs. Forced labor. Rancid food. Children imprisoned as adults. Prisoners forced to take medications to induce lethargy. Inadequate heating and ventilation. Poor health care. Draconian sentences for nonviolent crimes. Endemic violence.

Framed for Murder

Christopher McCowen

Christopher McCowen

Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the nation’s largest for profit system.

This corporation runs the prison Chris is in, as well.

"On Wednesday, March 27, hundreds of inmates at the Cibola County Correctional Center in Milan, New Mexico, engaged in a peaceful demonstration against poor treatment. Somewhere between 250 to 500 prisoners refused to leave the recreation yard in a demonstration that lasted for over 12 hours.

The Center, which houses over 1,100 minimum-security federal prisoners (all male), is owned and operated by the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the nation’s largest for profit system. CCA facilities are notorious for rampant human rights abuses, not exactly shocking for a company whose sole purpose is to profit from off of locking human beings in cages.

As the owner of several CAR prisons, CCA is no stranger to accusations of mistreatment.

The pattern of cost-cutting, negligence and abuse at CCA-owned prisons goes back even further, but that would take more paragraphs than you’re probably willing to read."

Help Get Chris a New Trial

A prisoner said in the Daily Beast

"America’s harsh judicial system, coupled with a growing national affinity for utilizing complete isolation at super-max prisons as a corrections tactic of first choice, in many cases turns men into monsters.”

The prisoner warned that “many of the first men locked up when our nation embarked on a policy of for-profit mass incarceration near the end of the last century are now returning into society.”

Hell on Earth

Private Prisons, Public Hell

"Today, the ACLU announced that it is filing a federal lawsuit on behalf of prisoners at the East Mississippi Correctional Facility, a private prison in Meridian, Mississippi. The suit alleges that EMCF is "hyper-violent, grotesquely filthy and dangerous." One example of the jail's dangers: this handwritten letter from an inmate describing his own rape."

"EMCF is a cesspool. Prisoners are underfed and routinely held in cells that are infested with rats and have no working toilets or lights. Although designated as a facility to care for prisoners with special needs and serious psychiatric disabilities, ECMF denies prisoners even the most rudimentary mental health care services. Many prisoners have attempted to commit suicide; some have succeeded. One prisoner is now legally blind after EMCF failed to provide his glaucoma medications and take him to a specialist, and another had part of his finger amputated after he was stabbed and developed gangrene.

The facility is dangerously understaffed, and prisoners routinely set fires to attract the attention of officers to respond to emergencies. Without sufficient staff to protect prisoners from violence, rapes, stabbings, and gang violence are rampant."

Criminal, or victim?

no safety, only terror

no safety, only terror

“The longer the stay, the more money the prison makes,” he said.

Gangs ruled the 60-inmate, 30-cell housing units, Williams and Walton said. There were at least 13 present in the facility, according to the 2010 audit. Corrections officers sometimes slept while prisoners fought, the inmates said. Assaults were common. Officers often did nothing. Some provoked fights and then used pepper spray and other deterrents, said Williams.

“You saw blood on the floor, everywhere,” he said.

Criminal Justice should be one area where the utmost honor and fairness reigns.

Unfortunately, this is not the case in America.

The case of Christopher McCowen is one of many where injustice rules.

And yes, shadow people working for shadow means....

ABC news has revisited this case in 2017.

These are the people republicans want to give more power to;

“I have not committed any crime," the Army officer says in the video, to which one of the officers shouts, "You're being stopped for a traffic violation. You're not cooperating, and at this point, right now, you're under arrest. ... You're being detained for obstruction of justice."

After one of the officers attempted to open the car door, Gutierrez then stepped back and pepper-sprayed Nazario multiple times.

At one point, Gutierrez can be heard telling Nazario he was "fixin' to ride the lightning," a reference to the electric chair and a line from the movie "The Green Mile," in which a Black man is facing execution.

As Nazario eventually exits the vehicle with his eyes clenched shut from the pepper spray, the officers force him to the ground as he repeatedly says, "Please talk to me about what's going on."

The lawsuit in part argued that the footage captured "behavior consistent with a disgusting nationwide trend of law enforcement officers, who, believing they can operate with complete impunity, engage in unprofessional, discourteous, racially biased, dangerous and sometimes deadly abuses of authority."

Jonathan Arthur, Nazario's attorney, told the AP that the Army officer graduated from Virginia State University and was commissioned out of the school's ROTC program, adding that "he's definitely not doing too well" after the incident with police.

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on March 04, 2021:

Well now, this is interesting....this is the cop who did Chris’s interrogation at the police station.

Allegedly made up things Chris never said, took words out of context, waited 9 days to write it, and it was a 7 page report or something, people familiar with the process said impossible. And....signed the report for Chris, as they have the same initials, CM. Allegedly.

When he was on the stand, people called him robocop. And, of course, he was promoted right after the trial, as was the prosecuting attorney, and the star witness’s family all of a sudden were driving around with beautiful brand spanking-new trucks for their family business.

What is it they say? Character matters?

“State Police colonel tasked with reform is accused of breaking rules to promote his allies.

“Lawsuit alleges colonel rushed process to promote his driver, who’s accused of cheating

In the past 10 months, US law enforcement agencies have used teargas, pepper spray, rubber bullets, and beatings at a much higher percentage at Black Lives Matter demonstrations than at pro-Trump or other rightwing protests.

Law enforcement officers were also more likely to use force against leftwing demonstrators, whether the protests remained peaceful or not.”

Exactly what they did in Christopher McCowen's trial. No evidence of rape, rape not even mentioned before, until they arrested a black man. And then “he killed her because he couldn’t have her”

Stupid dam bullshit!

The whole things sickens me to death.

Sounds wonderful....

Suzie from Carson City on May 02, 2020:

I have seen a lot of Tiny Home videos. Some of them are incredibly awesome. I believe I could actually live happily like that in a year-round warm climate area, where you can be outdoors 50% of the time.

I'll have much more space than that& I'm really looking forward to the change. It's just me&my cat....how much room do we need?!

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on May 01, 2020:

Ohhhhh, congrats! Do you ever watch tiny house videos? Very interesting. Or Van life? Lol

Downsizing is good. Fresh start.

Suzie from Carson City on May 01, 2020:

OH.......I'm not going on a trip!! LOL.......I'm moving!! I WISH I was going somewhere warm & luxurious........HA!

I'm packing up a huge 10 room house that I sold.....throwing out tons of literal CRAP that I have no idea why I saved in the first place....giving stuff away, donating to Goodwill, selling some.......because I'm going ..INTO a 2 bedroom Mobile Home I bought......When I downsize,I don't mess around!

For the first month I'm there, I'll probably just walk into walls and stub my toes & feel like a sardine! LOL But I'm gonna love it!

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on May 01, 2020:

Yes, I did mean Cuomo. And he is incensed that Trump, McConnell and Scott say they are “bailing out” the blue states, and why should they?

He had to point out that every year, New York pays more in taxes than it takes out, and Kentucky and Florida take more money out than they pay in.

So, in reality, blue states bail out red. On a yearly basis. And Republicans have the nerve to act like they’re doing New York a favor, and maybe New York doesn’t deserve it.

AS IF this is their America, not ours. That is what I’m talking about.. Also: Bill and Joe the rapists....Donald the saint.

Yes, I have been here longer. Remember when Ralph told me to go away, I don’t belong?

And yes, it’s nice to express yourselves.....you all can. I’m banned from forums for life. And I know for a fact, I was not a personal attacker. It was the subject matter, I think. And a certain employee here.

So, it’s doubly frustrating when people delete me on hubs......after they have their time of going at me.

So I communicate to myself. On my hubs, only to be mocked by the ones who had me banned.

It’s discrimination, and it angers me.

So I do lump the group of rightwingers here together. Because, they operate as one to censor and silence, all the while going on and on about “freedom”.

And the meaness bothers me. Since they brag about being Christians.

But I will always get along with those willing to get along with me. And you have been that person.

Have a good trip! And sorry about your mom and sister.

Suzie from Carson City on May 01, 2020:

Leslie......It's become obvious that everyone makes the mistake of lumping ALL libs or ALL Cons.....as the same. That's a bad habit because each individual is their own person. At least half of my family and many of my friends are Democrats. It does not pose a problem with any of us because we simply accept it and if necessary, don't discuss politics. When you think of the thousands of things we all have to talk about , that's no sacrifice to anyone.

It is so strange to me that you say that the "conservatives here, have the power." I feel there are far more active, vocal dems. Funny......it's all perception. You were not a Republican years ago? I could swear I thought I read that you said you used to listen to Rush and other right wing radio? I guess I took it for granted that you had been a Repub.

As for the forums and banning......I'm totally in the dark with that.I don't participate in forums at all. Every once in a great while, I might come upon something someone writes in the forums..

I do know the difficult situation with your Mom. Went through it all with my own mother.....3 months after losing my only sister. That was my year from Hell. We can't get away from these tragedies. A sad part of life.

I'm not positive, but I think you've been a member here a bit longer than I have been. So, we all have the same fellow-writers, Leslie. We all know them. And we also know they side with one another. That's pretty typical. The truth is, I wish there were not so many articles that create the friction and back & forth argument that goes on & on. But, on the other hand, people need to communicate and express their opinions.

When you mention "Cuomo," I assume you mean, Andrew, my Governor? Well, believe this or not......I used to have no use for him whatsoever..........(probably because I'm such a die-hard Conservative & stubborn)....But since this Covid-19 beast, he's in my ear all day, every day and I've seriously LISTENED. I'll probably be stoned by my Rightie friends because I now really LIKE the man! He has impressed the hell outta me. Hmmm...maybe I should just keep my mouth shut?? LOL This is the kind of thing I'm talking about though when I say we really can't lump people together one way or the other.

Yeah...so anyway.....I'm suppose to be packing!!!!

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on May 01, 2020:

Actually, you all get rid of them. Me, i have to take their shit , because your crowd has power here.

Maybe you can tell me why I see things said that got me a 90 day ban?

And how it is that Tsad is still on forums?

My mom is doing better, thank you for asking. But she’s still dying. In fact, one of your people once told me I would enjoy watching my mom die. Why? Because I’m pro choice. Your pal Will said he would shoot liberals if he had to and ahorseback did, too.

And maybe you can tell me when a democratic president said Republican states suck, and dems were doing them a favor by giving them federal money? Cause I don’t remember any time like that.

Then, your other pal Sharlee refuses to post my comments.....of course, after getting her rocks off on me.

No, it has not been this way forever. There was a time when democrat didn’t mean piece of shit. When republicans didn’t act like everyone else had to scrape and bow for favors in OUR country!

As Cuomo said, “How dare they!”

I hope you all wake up soon and realize This IS our country, too. Because as it stands now, republicans seem to have the idea that what goes for everyone else doesn’t apply to them.

There is going to be a BIG awakening.

Just because Trump stole the presidency doesn't give him crown and scepter.

Today is my anniversary, I haven’t seen Chris since March 8, he spends 23.5 hrs a day in a box, doing time for someone else’s crime, and I have to take the slanderous crap of one of your cavemen! Why? Cause rightwing people always have to censor and silence. That’s why.

They take insults to Trump and make it personal. Throw a rock, then run away.

They stifle freedom. Stifle dissent, and Stifle life!

And no, I have never been a Republican. I do have great respect for some. But if im shown none.....i don’t feel obligated to return it.

Hence, my frustration with having to sit and take rightwing shit.

But at least you all are safe from bad bad Lmc.

Leslie, you're old enough and experienced enough to know there are A$$holes EVERYWHERE....& BTW....they aren't ALL "right-wingers!! We run into these darlings in all walks of life everyday, no matter where we go. People are people and each and every individual is much more than just their Political Leaning. You were once a Republican......right? Well, in my decades as an adult, I've been Dem, Independent &Conservative, at various times. As recently as Barack, I voted for the man twice! We grow, we age, we change.....and it's certainly not limited to just Politics.

I see this country as "OUR America.".....It does not belong exclusively to any one human, nor any group.....it's OUR country.

No one can know what's coming for 2020.....You know what you want and I know what I want. Guess what? One of us is not going to be happy. No surprise, Leslie. It's been this way forever.

I either ignore the A$$holes or laugh at them. Try it, you'll see it works.

Yes, care for elderly is outrageously costly. (My boys will put me in a leaf bag on the curb!!) Hope your Mom's doing better!

Oh thanks, Paula! No, she is free of Corona, which her neighbor and I are relieved about, since we were with her so much!

Most people think it’s cancer, but they really moved fast to get her out of the hospital, and into skilled nursing care.

$348.00 a day.....my daughter screamed: “they should go to jail for robbing the elderly!”

I said: “listen, growing old is not for wimps. It’s not beanbag.....you have to be tough as nails.”

My mom left on Feb 22 anyway.....whatever it is grabbed a hold of her and has not let go.

But in this time, where younger people are dying from Covid, we are grateful our mom can rest now, and whatever happens, happens.

And I agree.....Kim K is doing great things.

I have not received this. Thank you! I see it is nearly an hour & a half. Will definitely get to this, today. Kim has taken on a massive project.....GOOD for her! The more high-profile individuals providing education &exposure, the better..

There are so many news articles on Covid-19, can't keep up. Scary as hell. I agree, this has to be Priority #1.

Hope all turns out well with your Mom. (I hope she has not tested positive!!) What a nightmare we're in!

Another excellent story.....

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on March 10, 2020:

I agree. It actually hurts the heart......one of those things where if you ever started crying, you would never stop.

I saw a show once on Denmark, and the humane way they handle criminal justice.

Also read an article on the success rate of non recidivism in the Israeli system.

I think we could learn a lot to look to our own indigenous past......I don’t believe jails existed......but people were expelled from society. (?)

I don’t know. But what we have....you know, solitary confinement was the idea of the church.....

It’s needs to be revamped.

Suzie from Carson City on March 10, 2020:

Terrific.....Just one word of caution. Remember to take any blood pressure med, antacids, nausea meds, Ibuprophen, sedatives and anything else you have in your cabinet BEFORE you read most of the articles. It helps to buff the anger, anxiety, frustration & general pain!

Believe me, I'm not kidding about the BP meds....sometimes I feel like the top of my head will explode. Of ALL things for someone as feisty, opinionated & appalled with injustices as I am, to get so involved with "the wrongfully convicted." I should have chosen rescuing stray kittens or something like that!

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on March 10, 2020:

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on March 10, 2020:

I do agree....public action seems to be the only way out for some.....it’s horrifying.

And your advice is greatly appreciated. By me AND Chris.

Suzie from Carson City on March 10, 2020:

Leslie......It IS never-ending. A major travesty for our country and disastrous tragedy for the innocents involved. There simply is not nearly enough public awareness. These horrific wrongful convictions are not the sort of publicity the corrupt in the system want out there in the news. If you laid out the facts and numbers to people, they would think you have to be mistaken or just crazy. But in fact, the reality is that this malignancy exists for far too many, with terribly slow progress being made to bust through the crux of it.

Yes, more and more high-profile individuals & groups have taken action & work as hard as possible. However, as you know, what we're up against is an astronomical task. This has gone on for so so long with those responsible simply sliding by without justice and no retribution, When they finally begin to take the corruption and misconduct to task & punish the perpetrators, we may be getting somewhere.

I cannot stress enough how very vital it is for public action and noise...lots of it. The fight is a long & tedious one, but anything this important is worth it in the end. Sadly, this is one of those things that grabs hold of people only when & if IT HAPPENS TO THEM. I just happen to be one of those who was pulled into the chaos by being involved with my late husband's work in terms of Capital Punishment. When I began, I was literally blown over at the statistics & seeming lack of concern. I do not need to personally experience something this egregious in order to connect, care and begin to fight. I guess we all have our explicit missions in life. This is mine. I only wish I could do more.

Kim and 50 Cent and more like them are a huge Plus.

Get all your stuff together and get busy....is my only advice at this point.

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on March 10, 2020:

Jesus...it’s never ending. The fact that so many innocent people have their lives thrown away is MADDENING!

Here is from Kim Kardashian:

“We cannot execute another man especially for a crime he didn’t commit! Everyone has to hear about Julius Jones, he is innocent and yet sentenced to death in Oklahoma“

“@KimKardashianWest, it's time to make a change. Join her in the fight to end America's mass incarceration problem when #KKWTheJusticeProject premieres Sunday, April 5 at 7/6c on @Oxygen”

Also, 50 cent has been putting examples of innocent men released from prison on his Instagram page. He says his show “For Life”, is a movement.

So those are all good things.

In Chris case, a huge problem is the judges. This one here has denied all his motions so far, and the one who sat on his original case did, too. His lawyer was incensed when the current judge publicly praised the former judge for the job he did on Chris’s trial.

And of course, his prosecutor is now a judge.....appointed by Mitt Romney. A judge, just like his dad.

Etc etc etc

As Carlin Said, “it’s a big ole club, and you ain’t in it”

If they ever uncover this, it will be mountains of corruption.

But still and all, it goes down to that racist jury.

I truly think Chris’s team was stunned at the verdict, as were so many others.

It was a pretty open and shut case of lots of reasonable doubt.

Even today, people still speculate on who killed her.

It’s a shame the “justice” system doesn't give a F.

Chris told me to listen to this song....watching the video is better, which he can’t do. But as you might wonder, I worry very much about him.

And don’t ever stop sharing these things, Paula......it’s a travesty that this goes on so much.

And our prisons are a travesty.

We are human beings, not animals. And most incarcerated people are not violent criminals.

Suzie from Carson City on March 09, 2020:

A little not-so-secret-word-to-the-wise.....Lawyers, like Doctors, are NOT Gods, despite the fact that they THINK they are. They make mistakes, take short-cuts, & they're greatest talent is "bending the truth" or "playing with words."......There are things you can do. To be on the safe side, you may want to run things by him but his word is not infallible nor is it law. Just be sure what you choose to do is a positive move FOR Chris. Connecting with The Innocence Project can only be a "positive" thing. You have every right and more than enough reason to take action. It is extremely curious to me that he is leery about at LEAST TRYING to get that DNA tested. His response to you ("It's complicated") infuriates me. Exactly What the HELL does he mean? Can he explain such a flippant, insignificant statement? Yes?No? Well, you don't need to settle for such crap. Don't hold him in such high esteem please. You may feel he's some great guy and that's fine, Leslie.....but the reality remains.,....that "great guy" didn't keep Chris a free man, now, did he? I admit, I do not know him, however, lawyers in general?....I'm afraid I know too much...certainly more than I'd like to.

Need to get off my soapbox....I can get carried away in terms of this particular topic. I'm obsessed with wrongful convictions & not afraid to admit it.

(some reading I received today.) Just let me know any time you don't care for me share these things.

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on March 08, 2020:

Oh wow....it applies here in Massachusetts! I’ll have to do it, because I think I told you,his lawyer said the judge would just deny the request.... but if I can go around that.,,.well dam! Thank you, Paula! So much!

Suzie from Carson City on March 08, 2020:

VERY good article on "Access to POST conviction DNA testing." !!!

(As in,DNA under finger nails that (Outrageously) was never tested?)

I believe this testing in Chris's case, is absolutely tantamount & MUST be done despite the possible struggle to get there. These are the basic reasons The Innocence Project exists & works furiously to achieve. Read asap.

Suzie from Carson City on February 17, 2020:

How to get my blood boiling before noon!! Leslie.....what??! The judge won't LET them test the fingernail DNA??? Complicated?? Again, I'm speechless. How in God's Name was it never tested? In ANY murder trial, DNA is the most vital aspect of all of it.

OK...I'm not going to say anymore here EXCEPT.....Please DEMAND that the lawyer involve the Innocence Project. DNA testing is what they do best. They'll see to it that it happens. If the lawyer hesitates, YOU should most definitely do whatever you have to do, to contact them.....write, call and write again. TALK to them and give them every last thing you have on this case. Go to the media, write to your Politicians. I know what you're thinking, Leslie, but you really have to make noise....stir things up. This can't just be sat on. The LEAST the lawyer can do is tell you what the HELL, "It's complicated" means!!

You can tell him, point blank..."NO, it's NOT complicated....IT'S CRIMINAL; AND CORRUPT!!" Damn, I'm shaking, I'm so appalled.

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on February 17, 2020:

I’m putting this here to hide that last one.....said too much, but needed to be said.

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on February 17, 2020:

Well, I found some things out yesterday......

1. In Maria Flooks book, Invisible Eden, O’Keefe tells her that the dna they found was so old, it’d be impossible to make a match.

*This explains why O’Keefe asked his ex wife, the judge, to allow him to take Chris’s dna 6 times while he was in county jail.*

2. The FBI did a profile on the killer. They determined that the last person to have sex with her is not the one who killed her.

And I remember Chris mentioning to me, judge Nickerson told the DA, “you can’t win this”....

And must be why they charged him with joint venture.....even if they couldn’t prove anything, they could still say he was there, and guilty by default.

I asked his lawyer “why can’t you get a different judge....one who will allow the dna under her nails to be tested!?”

“It’s complicated”

Yeah....not really.

It’s corrupt as hell, and they can’t afford to be caught in their crimes against Chris.

And letting the real killer walk.

White people SUCK!

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on February 06, 2020:

Oh please let me know if anything comes out of it. I don’t have tv. But Chris is watching as well.

Suzie from Carson City on February 06, 2020:

Leslie......Whoa....Ms. Porter gets around, I see and not in a good way. Her father is a cop? This is stunning, Leslie. I think your speculations are fair considering the entire situation is so bizarre, all things are possible. What a dirt-bag Christa's Dad is. Someone needs to finally snap & blow the damned conspiracy to hell. I'll catch that program this evening on Ch. 4. Thanks for this. Quite interesting!

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on February 06, 2020:

This doctor, convicted of killing his wife, maintains his innocence.

The prostitute he was involved with is Beth Porter......same woman Christa’s dad was/is messing with. What are the odds?

2 cases of murder, both claim they didn’t do it.....same woman involved in both? What if SHE did both, because her heroine stash was threatened? I mean, wtf

Her father is a cop.....maybe she’s the one they’re all protecting.

Just hypothesizing, but I mean.....what are the odds?

I don’t know what people can ever do to make their lives have value to others. In this world, some people consider others worthless. It’s a mystery to me, as I dont know where they learn it from? I have to think that in some way, they will pay for it......at the very least, their standing in the human race should be vanquished.

Unfortunately right now, the assholes are winning.

Knowingly letting an innocent person die to protect a real killer.....there must be a price to pay for that.

In fact, I’m sure if it. Simply for the law of cause and effect. It will be paid for, one way or another.

Another successful outcome by Innocence Project. I always want to see this as "wonderful," however, any joy is soon dampened by the reality of the situation. It's perpetually infuriating....too ugly to see the results that are FINALLY achieved. My anger remains on simmer at all times. How the HELL do they convict in a case like this?! He didn't match the description, per the victim herself...and she KNEW the perpetrator and his name. "Egregious" beyond all measure.

Before I leave this earth, the single-most-necessary movement I want to see in place, is the charging, arrests & convictions of those seedy bastards who participate in these Courtroom Scams.....anyone and everyone who had a part in the judicial misconduct at any cost just for their precious conviction. The law, prosecutors, jail-house snitches, lying witnesses and even Judges! I will always hope for and work toward that.

Leslie.....I apologize but honestly, I don't know how to interpret this post. I can't quite understand who or what you are explaining. I suppose I would have to be involved in what you say is "the local site?" I'm not sure. I do understand that we all need to be cautious and protective of whatever we submit online. It's the same as being vigilant about where we go, what we do in view of the public and how we go about our daily lives. People, in general are not all trustworthy and too many have bad intentions. I know this and realize more people should be on alert and remain AWAKE.

So, again. sorry but I'm not able to comment since I don't quite follow. Frankly, I'm normally distrustful of many people, many groups....I've lived and learned too much to be a Pollyanna!

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on January 01, 2020:

This is what the scumbags were doing on the local site:

“Leslie: I found them on my site last night in referred B hits. They are set up like a military organization. Walker and swampyankee just joining this year. But the group has been together since 2008. Last night they were going over all of my Perry articles from the past. They even have a member named Jeff. I think there might be as many as 30 of them. There were maybe five pages of 6 on each page, and the website was incredibly professional looking. Now they have left my site. In fact, they were off less than five minutes after I told Walker I knew he was sneaking onto it. I wonder if %#$&@ will just do nothing about it. It seems to me that by coming onto my blogsite in the middle of the night without my permission - I mean where did he get the access codes _ is a violation that he should be booted for. Don't you agree?”

Jeff Perry was a tea bagger running for office. A former cop, convicted of fixing stop lights, so people paid more fines, and covering for a partner of his who used marijuana searches to feel up 15 yr old girls.

Next day:

“I had another chance to go on their site and guess what -there are 99 of them. That is an exact count. The site @@&#*%& came back on my referred B page to look at a Perry post I had already disabled so they couldn't see it. I have now disabled all my Perry pieces from earlier this year. There are 99 of them. do you believe it?”

One of them was named Rapunzel. Used to post insulting shit every time I went to visit Chris at Walpole prison. Commented on what I was wearing, etc. to let me know they were watching.

One guy over at that site named Buzz was outed for working at Fox subversion network.

I’m feeling this same vibe here. Always have. 3 computers malwared.....no coincidence.

This is the Internet....it is run by forces all must bow to. This IS Nazi shit. It’s quite evil, and it’s here.

“Horizontal Harris and Joe the diddler. Kamala locked up young minorities for non violent weed charges and joe wants to rub them all and smell their hair.“

I’m convinced people who use the word “diddle” are part of a group. Like Satanic, along those lines. Something viscerally evil.

Leslie....OK, I'm not sure what to make of your post below? I have a strange suspicion you didn't mean to leave this here on this stream or maybe you're communicating to someone else? I mean, we were not discussing coincidences when last we posted. so I'm a bit confused. Oh well.........In any event, I do not believe in coincidences either! LOL

Here comes the New Year!

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on December 30, 2019:

I don’t believe in coincidence.....

The reason I wrote this hub is because I noticed the same kooky behavior here as I did on my local blog.

“the smearing and defaming of people who take a stand against something someone else doesn't like. It quicky turns into down and dirty assaults on character, and personal attacks. You find yourself wondering "why?" Why is it they cannot discuss the issues without resorting to these sort of tactics?“

Another ”coincidence”.....

I came across a guy who also describes a cult like group of very influential people......says they used him as a “diddle kid”, when he was young, and would barbecue people. For real.

Well. These weirdos here on Cape Cod (maybe...who knows on the Internet) accused me of bringing my grandkids to the prison so Chris could “diddle” them, and once were yeehawwing about having a barbecue and barbecuing a gorilla (Chris).

Bottom line, it’s the same people. You freaks are everywhere, so why should Hubpages be any different?

It IS discerning that they hold power, here.

They do what they want, when they want and to whom they want.

Kook freaks.

14? Holy #@%-*.......I will say something is off Christmas this year.....not so many decorations.....my bank used to have a very fancy show of lights, candy canes, gingerbread cookies.....this year nothing. Seems like a lot of people came out here.....but it feels like a ghost town.

But my god, with 14 grandkids......you’ll be having Christmas for a loooooong time to Come!

And of course, no snow yet. :-(

Ah well, our youngest is 13, so it’s already kind of lost it’s dazzle. And our family is shrinking, as so many have moved away.....and the prison didn't even put a little tree in the visiting room....

Suzie from Carson City on December 21, 2019:

LOL....I haven't heard that phrase in a while. I think it's "Do Not Go Gently into the Night," which is a poem by Dylan Thomas from long ago. It's been used a lot, with a word or 2 changed throughout the years. It is claimed that Dylan was referring to not throwing in the towel because you're OLD......I'm not really sure. When the word "old" appears, I stop reading!

I suppose "Christmas is magical." It certainly was years ago when I had little kids......The whole Santa thing is so exciting for kids. Back then it was "magical" mostly because it made our $money$ disappear....Voila! Now that I have 14 grandchildren (& believe it or not, one on the way!) Gram has a NEW magic for all the little darlings...a kiss, a hug and an "I love you, this year your Birthday present will be bigger!" At least birthdays are one at a time.....14 gifts at once makes me dizzy!!

We all know what Christmas really is....I think.....but that's not what our kids have thought for decades.....It's great when they've outgrown the fantasy. Once they know it's not really Santa's dime.....it's time to get real! Thus begins a lifetime of shattered fantasies and broken dreams! Get used to it kids....It's a hard, cruel world! Oh yeah, but MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! LOL

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on December 21, 2019:

*smile*. Yeah, keep pounding fists against that wall! At least we won’t go “ meekly into the night”, or however that goes.....

I don’t listen to Alex Jones anymore, but I do think “prison planet” is apt.

What a dam shame.

Oh well, christmas is magical, so these few weeks we can enjoy!

Suzie from Carson City on December 21, 2019:

Leslie....I hadn't read anything about the "Judge recusal" request. Again though, none of this should surprise us. As for your excellent question, "Who watches the Judges?"......other than more Judges, higher up in the system, more powerful, MORE whatever??? So, the common man needs to hope & pray that somewhere in the massive group of "Good Ole Boys," there is that one very unique man/woman who truly follows the laws, the constitution & BLIND JUSTICE, as it is WRITTEN...as it was established to be, meant to be and must be for our Justice System to work fairly, swiftly and Judiciously. For that simple bottom line means, if "they're" all a bit corrupt in some way or another.....That POWER is also more corrupt.

Where are the truly righteous, fair and unbiased? They exist, although few, but if & when they utilize their righteous power for equal justice for ALL.....all the time, somehow at some point, they eventually fade into the background. (and those of us familiar with the big game, know why)

My own personal opinion of "informants," aka jailhouse snitches? This practice should be abolished immediately and entirely. Until this occurs, I firmly believe they are for "entertainment purposes only" & very poor entertainment at that.

Good grief.... a mob of Senior Citizens in a rumble!! What can we expect next? I certainly hope your Mom was not injured.

Yeah...despite all the insanity and chaos we common folk need to deal with day in, day out and just struggling to survive.....Hey, what the Hell?

"Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!" We gotta keep trying.

Leslie McCowen (author) from Cape Cod, USA on December 20, 2019:

I saw that Reed asked to have the judge recused, but it was denied. That is another problem......judges. Who is watching them?

It really is thanks to innocence project and others, that anyone even cares. I was looking up informants once.....there are 625 of them in one town here!

Btw, someone told me the DA was a deviant. He said, “do you know what a deviant is?”

Something about young girls. But it was just gossip talk.

I do remember back when this was all going on, somebody just off chance mentioned necrophilia associated with him. Like a real off the wall comment.

But these type of things are why people are scared. Scared of the ones sworn to serve and protect.

JF held tourists up at knifepoint, but hey it’s nothing.

Creeping me out, all this crap. Trump, this, etc.

Merry Christmas. My moms building had christmas dinner, and they had a fist fight! Old people!

Ugh, something eerie is in the air.

Suzie from Carson City on December 20, 2019:

As I continue to remain abreast of information, in terms of our Justice System (pro & con) the outrage and disgust is only mildly calmed by the baby steps being taken toward major improvements. There is no escaping the existence of ongoing massive corruption, versus the slow, agonizing exposure and correction of these misdeeds, proven time and time again to incarcerate the innocent, the egregious practice of successful prosecution at "all costs," & the blatant "throwing away the key" mindset, present all across our nation. (Destruction of lives while degrading our Justice System of flaws & unforgivable activities.)

If not for the tireless work of The Innocence Project, with more & more groups in kind, coming forth with demands for real justice, increasing the hope & chances for exoneration, it's clear that there would be NO justice.

The link below gives credence to my comments above. There is a major article as well as 2 others at the end and some very useful info here.

I'm not really surprised at the "police" story and Baltimore is not alone in this sort of outrageous activity. It does defy all reason and common sense though, to think these Superior Officers/Men in charge of Police forces and their duties, are foolish enough to think that "orders to profile" would not be apparent....and clearly wrong under any circumstances and would eventually be exposed.

~~40 effing yrs. of their precious lives gone...wasted away. All the while, evidence of their innocence sat hidden where a "law enforcement officer" intentionally stuck them away. I can think of no words. Sick to my stomach.

I hope the Reeds make a dent in this. Cause in Chris’s case, after 3 jurors said the jury was racist, one of their aunts came forward and testified her nephew (on the jury) didn’t like black people, it came out all the things they said about Chris......

The professional judge decided there was no racial bias in their decision.

And yet, a juror, speaking on a cell phone with her boyfriend, who was in jail (prisoners get cell phones?), who they had just arrested, said the cops were stupid (about HIS case);

And that was enough bias to get her thrown off the jury. Yes, she was a hold-out on the second dead-Lock.

I’ll say one thing: jurors aren’t professional. And these were the bottom of the barrel, except for the 3 honest ones.

“This is why I don’t like black people”

“He scares me”..... no problem

“Cops are stupid”...ooops, off you go

The fact that "it's an issue," in The USA in 2019, is in itself, outrageously incomprehensible. However, it is what it is. On a positive note, when it comes to cases in a court of law, racists get sloppy and make serious errors and mistakes with "holes" in their cases, you can drive a semi through. They must be called out, in any way feasible. Turning a deaf ear, blind eye cannot be allowed.

The behavior, lies, tricks, blatant flaws......need to be brought out front and center....pointed out, explained & seriously questioned. No more just letting these bastards slide by....

The public has to educate the "legal professionals"......it's that simple.

Anyway, I’m happy to see what is happening here. His brother seems strong on getting change in the injustice system.

That was a great interview......and 100% right.

Justice is about holding responsible the one who really killed her, and holding those responsible who committed the cover up.

And that is where the trouble lies......what if those covering up are supposed to be the ones administering justice?

What if they hold much power in society?

Also....the families of those wrongfully convicted go through hell. Especially the children.

And I also wonder.....do Stacy’s sisters still think Rodney killed her?

And if so, how is that?

How could anyone looking at that case believe that?

You know what I think. And I stand by it.

Wow!! This is one HELL of a link. I've never seen anything quite so complicated! But....here it is if you choose to watch. Very informative

Yes, Leslie, most people will continue to be a bit apprehensive in such a situation. I watched a video yesterday of an interview with Rodney's younger brother, Rodric (& his wife). Rodric was quite open about the family's thoughts & feelings. Right now, they're taking it in day by day and just overjoyed, of course, regarding the outcome of such a massive plea for Rodney. If you'd like to watch that video, just let me know and I'll send you the link if you can't locate it.

You will be very interested to know that they (and numerous other activists are planning and pushing for: Seeing to it that Prosecutors, law enforcement, etc who are found to have played dirty....withholding evidence, denying testimony, playing the semantics games and all the seedy things they KNOWINGLY-INTENTIONALLY do to railroad a person) These individuals WILL be held accountable, charged and punished...(if they are successful in getting this through the proper channels!) It's long overdue! As it has stood for far too many years, these thugs in 3-piece suits, have been free to do, say whatever they want, wrongfully convict someone and then just go on home and live their lives with no accountability whatsoever. That's incomprehensible. Period!

The Reeds have involved themselves with many organizations and working with other activists. Once the dust settles with Rodney, they do not intend to sit on their butts. They are going to step up their work for others. As I listened, it struck me that the Reeds would be a really great source for you to communicate with. Just have them read Manso's book. BTW, I finished it. Whew! Need to let my brain rest. What a Tale!! and do I have questions!

Oh, great! I’m a little nervous, though.....but still wonderful news, and at least he got some happiness in his heart.

Merry Christmas for him and his family!

Oh, ok.

It’s very scary how much this goes on. There seems to be no oversight on these people.

Let’s see if this one shows. My first comment didn’t.

Something I meant to mention......Their attempt at "clever verbiage" does NOT get past me. Cases have been "mishandled" Scuse me? MISHANDLED??? Mishandled might translate as accidental...oversights, Oops! Let's change that word to "MANIPULATED!!" as in quite purposeful!!

Oh Shock! Like this hasn't been going on for decades, becoming worse, a blatant, disgraceful flaw throughout Law Enforcement, Prosecutors and even judges! How many times must this be exposed as headline news, how many lives need to be destroyd, before an enormous clean-up, fix-up takes place? Personally, I approve of the comment that states, "those who have been found guilty of participating in any &all corruption, be sentenced to the same sentence given wrongfully to the innocent." This seems only fair and finally a good start to making it clear that this cannot and will not be tolerated for one moment. Their attempts at cover-ups have become even more egregious than their lies and misconduct.

Orange County is merely one area in millions across the country. It's too mammoth to fathom.....but the American public needs to take heed and make more noise and louder noise and most importantly, place the DEMANDS to rectify a system out-of-control. WE are the employers!
